I'd always thought Laura would have made Makoto feel redundant.
 
But yeah there are some picks. Theoretically Fei Long is another one, but I fucking hate that character so I'm biased against him coming back. Anyone returning is a monkey's paw wish as you said.
 
Honestly at this point just throw out more random characters to get them out there and try out some ideas before the next game.
Its doubly funny because Akuma mostly shit on anyone else in that archetype since S2 so all of them have been mostly redundant. Ho ho ho. (Late reply but you got it)
 
Also shotos are like MK ninjas: you just kind of have to accept that a certain % of the cast is gonna be that.

FGC is like any other hobby: most people don't really poke their heads out of their corner of the world. I see it everywhere. Understandable due to the time sink just one game/char can demand but folks usually aren't mindful of what that does to one's perspective. 
 
The last char for this SFV round is going to have the most impossible of impossible expectations built up by the time they are set to release.
 
It should just be "Uyr", a bearded Ryu with better frame data and one costume option: a t-shirt with SFVI's release date on his back and an animated gif trailer perpetually playing on his chest.
 
I feel like maybe they go for stunt casting with that last slot? They're already slightly doing it with Akira. And at this point there really aren't any "big" legacy characters to bring back (also who is left caring at this late point in the game's life, but that is probably just my perspective). 

Makoto, but they'll bring her back as some deathly ghoul version of her past self. Seth is already in though. She'd be redundant.

Reporting on MEGASHOCK is not like it is on other forums.  On this site the report tool is used as a MEGA DOWNVOTE.  By using this tool the community can remove content that does not directly go against site rules, but that people don't want to see.  Site staff can help, but it is up to the community to come together and get rid of posts they think are spam/annoying/trolling/etc.

DISCIPLINE AND PUNISHMENT
 
If you've been bad you will be subject to punishment by site staff.  MEGASHOCK uses a warning system -- every time you are warned by staff your account will gain points.  These points are similar to points you get on your license from a speeding ticket.  As you gain more and more points your account will receive more and more restrictions,  and you may find yourself unable to post for several hours or even banned for weeks.  Points slowly go away over time, so if you are on your best behavior your account will slowly go back to normal after a while.
 
If you've accrued a ridiculous amount of points, done something truly heinous, or I really don't like you, you will simply be banned from the site.  It's my site and I'll do what I please.  ♥️

my wife has heavily alluded to getting me a PS5 for Christmas and i told her a hundred times i don't want it yet, and money isn't great now, so it can wait.
 
A few days ago i stumbled (cough, cough) on some air pods, which i assume are for me, and it’s actually a perfect gift because i really could use them, and they don't cost too much. I was really happy with that.
 
then today amazon drops off this box that seemed special in size. Tbh, it seemed like the perfect sized box for amazon to ship PS5’s within. I shift it around a bit and determine there is one big box in there, about the same size I’d expect the PS5 to be. My excitement gets the better of me and i google images of PS5 amazon shipments, and i can tell by the shipping label on one of them, that these are same size boxes. I can also determine that the boxes are similar in weight. Theirs was 16.1, and mine was 15.7... A big smile comes over my face but my next test it to see what my wife does when she gets home... does she open it on front of me, wait until i’m not around, etc.
 
i go upstairs to work and when she comes home, I’m on the phone and can’t go downstairs for an hour.
 
When i finally can go down, i see the box open and... it’s a massive textbook of germany we bought for my frail grandma, and i honestly don’t know how she’s going to carry this fucking thing. It deserves to be on a podium in a library. 🤦‍♂️
 

Capcom was using comic covers to reveal characters. Everything about MVCI was a disaster.
 
A lot of people didn't want to look at Marvel's hand in the damage. Simply looking at the concept art of MVCI is enough to know this game looking the way it did had more to do with Marvel than Capcom. If the game looked like the concept art, it would've been much better off. Interested to see if Marvel/Disney will pull the plug on the Avengers game sooner rather than later. That game lost Square a good amount of $$ and left them in the red and most of the playerbase fled altogether. 

hahahahahahahaha SF6 will probably have more and will make you sign on using your mobile phone.

Man, my only wish for SF6 is that I don’t have to wait literally 5 minutes before having to mash through a bunch of dumb announcements I don’t care about before I can actually play this game. 

Unrelated to everything and somewhat of a personal rant, but I was driving around today listening to a bunch of Rush and realized I really need to pick up my bass guitars again. Geddy Lee is a monster and I’ve had a goal of learning a few of their albums for like 10 years now but keep getting side tracked... I also realized when I’m really stressed or anxious, it’s hard to learn a new song or study music, as it doesn’t seem like something that’s strong enough to distract me from the BS I’m dealing with. Video games do though and really help me keep my sanity, but after the holidays I’m going to work on having more personal time and giving less of an F about my job, so I can get more bass time in... Won’t drop fighting games but I would like to add music back in the mix.

A big part of the fun with some older games is having sledgehammers like that. Modern balance/patching/lifecycles kinda makes that something that doesn't exist in the same way, if it even still does (depending on the game). 
 
It feels real good to have a big "fuck you" button (whether that is literally a button or not) and with a little bit of time travel you can experience some great ones.

I like the Bob implementation of that character a lot more than the Rufus version. And Bob is a giant pile of nothing.
 
I actually don't like most of IV's newcomers. Viper and Juri get a pass on waifu credentials. But even they don't quite feel right as SF additions to me. Not sure why that is. Maybe its just how much I don't like IV? Funny to think about.

@KingTubbFrom a nooblet: st.HP, b/f+MP, st.HK to clip stuff into CC. Also has a 6 frame cr.MK that is special cancellable which is really nice in SFV.
 
Basically just mash st.HP and spear hand and AA (st.LK and b+HK I think). EX SBK for spite periodically. 
 
She is good at that style of play in SFV from what I understand (and better in S4 than she has been in a while) but that play style doesn't really function the way you think it would compared to other games. "Mid range poking" is still roughly kissing distance. I tried to find a character that felt right playing that way the whole time I stuck with the game and never quite found one that clicked (Poison was more due to her being Poison than fitting that mold).
