The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers has added 802.11bb as a standard for light-based wireless communications. The formalization of 802.11bb will help speed up the rollout and adoption of the light-based transmission technology standard. Li-Fi delivers faster, more reliable, and more secure wireless communications compared to conventional technologies. Now that the standard has been released, it is hoped that the issue of interoperability between Li-Fi and Wi-Fi can be fully addressed.

Out here in Qatar. I've seen American women here on base go out into Doha. And met some U.K women. They've been just fine and enjoyed their time here. 
 
The thing that is make or break for most western women in general in the middle east. Is conflict resolution and compliance. Especially when dealing with a man.

I can only speak on Qatar. Qatar is a very nice country. Where you are safe to walk the streets anytime of day or night. And it is more lenient than some other Islamic countries. But it is a patriarchal society. In which the man has the final say and is to not be disrespected without consequences.

A USA woman going alone to a Muslim centric area is a foolish errand.
Even Dubai with its "Wealthy/party" vibe isnt exempt.

Houston sista known as the Sassy Trucker on social media. Got into it with an employee at a car rental company in Dubai. And was jailed for shouting/disorderly conduct. I believe she been locked up for 2 months now.
 
 
 
 

@MillionXI used to love watching Dream On as a kid. If it was  on MAX, ugh dumb name, I'd definitely watch it.

A lame thing about "Max" (besides the shocking stupidity of them dropping the HBO name...one of the most recognizable brands in the past several decades of entertainment) is that they don't actually have everything that I thought they owned (perhaps these things have trademark partially or just owned by other companies?)... some things many people probably forgot like Hardcore TV, the old Real Sex series or the later Sex Bytes.... or Dream On; I haven't checked in a while but I don't recall seeing Dream On on the service.  I may still have some episodes of HCTV on old vhs tapes, so I should probably just convert those because I doubt you can get that show anywhere else now....that shit was legendary hilarious stuff imo...definitely should not just be forgotten in obscurity like that.
 
Dream On was a great concept for a show, imo (follows the life of main character everyman "Martin"; the audience sees his thoughts and reactions to certain things in the form of quick funny clips from old black & white tv shows)... also a nice intro theme:

I heard about this on a podcast some days ago... didn't realize it was quite so "old" (the video here is 2 months ago)
So yeah... this guy found out the hard way that it's rarely any benefit to being Mr. Good Samaritan in real life.... the result can simply be that you get shot/killed for trying to be a super hero.  This is another one of those "Debbie Downer" things about the real world.  It's better to look out for #1... the most they get from me is that I may call the cops or security on the guy and let them handle that.  
...another sick depressing thing is that you know the girl most likely went right back to the abusive boyfriend later anyway.  So anyone intervening is pointless; it would be putting yourself in harm's way for nothing.
 
Well one good thing though is that the shithead who killed him obviously now has that extra charge of murder piled on while he was assaulting his girlfriend (in front of so many witnesses; heh, smart) there.

Gravity Circuit is legit. If you like Mega Man X, Mega Man Zero or action platformers, the game is a must. Also, I cannot believe I completed the opening stage without knowing I can dash.
 
I had some really good races in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe yesterday. All my places were 6th and up, including two 2nd place dubs. I think I made one player rage quit. It was a Luigi in 2nd place and a bodied them with a red shell. I must have had everyone else behind me because when I took 2nd from them and saw the results, they were in 8th or 9th place. I didn't see them in the lobby after that. 🤣

I haven't used a bike since I was a little kid; that brings back memories...  I remember mine was a black/grey Huffy.  I also had a scooter but that ended up being a waste of money, really since I barely used it... the bike was just way more fun.  One of my friends in the old neighborhood had a nice hilly area in the backyard so it was fun to do "stunts" jumping that hill and all that jazz.
 
...now I'm wondering how often the average American kid rides a bike anymore these days.  I imagine it's probably not that often due to the rise in popularity of gaming... since it's way more of a thing now than it was during a Gen-X childhood when it was just Nintendo vs. Sega and a fading legacy of Atari (*they were on the 7800 system by the 8-bit days; I wanted the 7800 but never got it... this reminds me there's some big Atari collection that hit all the consoles some months ago; I should get that...there is a Switch version.)
