Its even more mind blowing when you read a show had one season and then it turns out that one season is like 48 episodes.

TailSpin had one season at 65 episodes lmao. Show was only active during 1991, after that it's all reruns lol.

Yeah; I popped up Batman: The Animated Series and the first season is 50 or 60 episodes. I thought it was some screwup on HBO Max's account, but maybe not.

    So some positive life updates:

-Just bought a new car (its used but you get the idea) with 65k miles on it. I love it so far

-Just moved into my new place a few days ago (kinda ghetto-ish but its clean, quiet and has a certain charm)

-I Have a nice amount of money saved, well, technically I acquired it recently (despite my sister's numerous fuck-ups . She's gonna cost me another $1300 soon, which will sting a bit but it won't wipe me anywhere near out)

All in all, life is not perfect but a hell of alot better than I was a month or so ago

I pray that used car does you good. My used car came from a deceased family member and had 65k miles too. But the repairs (not maintenance, repairs) over the years have been at least triple what the car would be worth on Kelley Blue Book. I still like it much better than my old used car, but not being able to dump 10K plus into a "new" used car is maybe the only reason I still have it.

Apparently Ben Shapiro collabed on a rap song

Randomly came across this in my feed and listened to the snippet out of morbid curiosity.  I've never heard of Tom MacDonald either but I did a quick look up on him at of curiosity and a good chunk of the song names that popped up pretty much fell in line with the Venn diagram.

    What's the Venn Diagram?

And how did I know that Ben Shapiro rapping would sound like he got AI'ed into the track? He's right there for the video and I refuse to believe it's NOT AI.

  4. This is a dumb question, but how does one google if highways near them are not too icy to travel on? Seems everything I try just gets me weather forecasts and traffic conditions.

Thinking about going an hour away from where I live for something, but I want to know if they iced the highway there as good as they did here. Black ice got me once (years ago), and it won't get me again.

Having spent time in the ISS going around the entire Earth every 90 seconds, they can assure that it's not flat.

When I asked how do you even argue with someone who thinks the Earth is flat, one guy said we have an understanding that the laws of physics are constant everywhere in the universe.  And knowing this, we can predict things, like planets' orbital patterns, and we can test and observe those predictions. This forms a construction of our reality that is provable.  Do flat earthers have an explainable alternative?

When asked about how his perspective changed after spending time up there, he said he doesn't understand why we fight so much.

This is, to me, the most damning evidence against Flat Earth (not that you need much evidence). You can't base anything off of what they say.

If they had validity, they would not only be backed by experiments. You could make new science and principles off of what they say. But still, to this day, it's all about everyone else being wrong. Hell, the one bit of science they did do (that light test in the netflix doc) proves the earth has a curve.

@axeman61That is surprising because her family backed Dave 100%

That's another weird aspect: even though they defend and back Dave on his comedy in general, they imply she died for other reasons. This article has this quote from her sister:

    https://www.thedailybeast.com/dave-chappelle-backed-by-family-of-late-transgender-comedian-daphne-dorman-from-the-closer

    Quote

“No one knows what life was like for my siblings and I,” she added. “We are products of how we were brought [up]. Dave was the biggest bright spot for Daphne; she was enamored for the first time. Blaming Dave is beyond the wrong thing to do. He helped her and let her be comfortable while talking with him. She had many demons; Dave Chappelle was NOT one of them.”

But I'm still focused on the online mob being fake. It's 100% possible Chappelle just thought there was an online mob bullying her when there wasn't. I don't know how he'd think that if there are no posts suggesting that; maybe secondhand info from his team.

But if he knew from the start there was no online mob, implying they bullied her to suicide is some shady shit.

I'm double posting, but I found this and it pissed me off a bit. It's a VERY long article, so, here's the TLDR:

-Daphne Dorman was a transgender comedian whose story was told by Dave Chappelle at the end of The Closer. Chappelle claims that when Sticks and Stones came out, Daphne defended him against other transgender people, was dragged for days, and killed herself. He doesn't straight-up say they killed her, but it's heavily implied by the context.

-The article proves, with receipts, that there was no dragging of Daphne by her transgender peers around that time. She killed herself for a variety of different reasons (custody battle, job loss, etc), but there was never a twitter mob piling on to her.

I... don't know. I heard before Daphne had other problems besides a twitter mob, but I somehow assumed that there was a mob still. That there wasn't makes me look at The Closer even worse than I already did. The Daphne story is almost the sole highlight from it, and now I'm wondering if Dave knew the truth when he implicitly said her community killed her. It's possible he didn't, but if he did, that takes away a bit of my overall respect for him. I still see him as a GOAT, but this is low.

  8. They're trying to live too far above their means, OR they have a drug habit. Or multiple baby-mommas.

There's no way you're struggling as a single human being earning 600K a year. Even after taxes that has to be, bare minimum, 20K a month. I live very comfortably with all my bills paid and PLENTY left over at like 4.5K a month post-tax.

I don’t have PS+. Not enough value in it for me.

Isn't the basic version with cloud saves like 60 something bucks a year? I can understand not finding value in it; the free games month-to-month are lame most times. But if you have a variety of games you put a lot of time into, I could easily see value in that.

Wong did what probably most people in his situation would have done because vs most people it was a pretty safe bet. It's just unfortunate that he was facing Daigo at the time, one of the few people where even a normally safe bet like that isn't a sure thing.  I understand why it makes him feel like shit, especially when most of the people clowning him would have done exactly what he did.

Is he really hurt by it? Based on past instances where it came up in various ways and he was able to laugh it off, I didn't take that from that tweet.

I hate videos like these. literally just don’t buy them. Stop falling prey to fomo.

If you buy mtx’s like loot boxes and then bitch about how they’re extorting you than guess what? You’re the fucking problem, you know it, they know it and they love you for it. it also means they aren’t going anywhere.

I both agree and disagree. Yes, it is on the fans to stop buying. But we can't discount just how much devs (on behalf of publishers) fuck with the game in order to push people toward the micros. Or they fuck with the game to help everybody who might buy them vs the rest. Most pubs can't do lootboxes anymore, but they can taint matchmaking every way to put you up against people with the new shit, make things a grind unless you buy micros, or similar devious tactics.

You see no better example of this than in Call of Duty nowadays. The biggest thing people complain about is Skill Based Matchmaking being cranked into overdrive. But the primary reason they cranked it is to protect the new players so that said new players might buy micros. When the community has really had enough, they'll just switch to some other tactic.

So, yes. People should stop buying micros. But these pubs are trying everything possible to push people toward them, so even that simple solution isn't that simple.

  12. I'm still rolling my eyes that that Spider-Man 2 MJ debacle was even a thing. There is so much porn and porn-adjacent material out there you'd NEVER catch me bitching about a video game character looking "less hot" the next game (I still barely see any difference). I'd feel like a fucking caveman even typing it out.

But this seems different. This seems like stalker shit. I hope she's safe.

  13. Always found it hilarious that Conservatives are the first ones to say "we don't care about celebrities or their politics", but will hump a fucking hole into the leg of ANY celeb (no matter how famous) that agrees with them. It's why most conservative comedy/comedians suck now, because they're really just pandering to the audience instead of being funny. Because that's all they need.
