You've pretty well and precisely hit upon why I don't buy Kunio games anymore.
 
I absolutely adored RCR... but that was because it was a 2P RPG Best 'em Up... on the NES, that I could play with my little brother.
 
The 3DS one only served to illustrate that whilst the graphics might be smoother, the gameplay has not advanced at all, and has aged badly.
 
Those hitboxes are pure garbage.
 
Scott Pilgrim was lesser than NES RCR too. Imo.
 
I AM mad hype for the new TMNT game.
 
Until then, I've SoR4, and trying to get S clears with everyone.

I'm interested in the timeline from an "archeological" perspective. Putting out an official timeline kills a ton of that speculative fun. 

Yeah, personally I don’t care much about the timeline, I actually like the idea that this is all some legend and every time the story is told, it’s told differently...
 
of course, this conversation all started because I was curious where Link’s Awakening stood in the timeline, but that’s more so because of how the game ends. I was assuming Windwaker or something came immediately afterwards, but that was before I knew there was a secret ending.

Before the Dread Trailer reveal, it was mentioned that they're still working hard on Prime 4.

I expect Metroid Fusion on steroids, with more horror

This game looks really good. Honestly can't wait. What do y'all expect out of it?

I'm honestly more hyoe about this than if they had revealed Metroid Prime 4.  I've been wanting a 2D Metroid for Switch since I got it.  I was even hoping for maybe a port of Samus Returns on Switch, and would have been happy to get that.  But to have a brand new game?  I haven't been this excited about the Switch since Mario Maker 2 reveal.  By far the best thing to come from this entire E3 event.

This looks pretty nice. Lot of great stuff coming to Switch!
 
Definitely looks very informed by newer metroidvania games so far.

It looks like a mix of Fusion and Samus Returns.
 
And real talk, the atmosphere looks fantastic. Fusion had people shook, this might be even better.

Might be enough for me to finally get a switch. I bought a 3ds primarily for Samus Returns, was very happy with that game. 

Dread is actually real! I still remember the rumors of the original Metroid Dread over 10 years ago. I was a big fan of Fusion and loved Samus Returns. Easily my most hyped game this year.

What pushed me to get mine was Prime 4 being announced. Honestly, I don't regret it, it's a very nice handheld that you can plug in a TV. Library is pretty good too.
 
It was desperately needing a Metroid game on it. 
 
Btw, there were TWO Dread sessions on the Treehouse. Turns out I missed the 2nd. Gonna link the vids in the OP too.
 
 

2D Metroid is so surprising. Nintendo stole E3 with this game alone.

I failed to discern much difference.
 
The Edgelordishness (tm) is perhaps a bit sharper than it was in FFXV (pick a connotation), granted.
 
But once you've hit the actual slums of the slums of FFVII, you've pretty much hit absolute, or, dare I say, FINAL Etropy.

I hate that even fictional worlds aren't free of that sort of thinking either. 

Jesus, really? I guess the problem with having English/journalism majors writing stuff like this and like music reviews is that they focus on the things they know best, hence you'll get an album or song review that's all about the lyrics and barely mentions the music. 
 
How is MHW a "colonialist fantasy?" Whoever wrote that should kill themselves. 😂
