CPT 2020 finals taking place in Febuary 2021 speaks volumes. The SFV producer says COVID-19 has slowed things. Which honestly lines up with the situation.

Jeah I don't doubt it, Covid has fucked everything up this year. That part is completely acceptable. I just... I just really don't like Dan.

edit- I guess that probably means the balance update and the mysterious "new mechanic" are probably being delayed to feb as well

I wonder if the LoL fighter will cause a boom kinda like SFIV did. Might bring a bunch of people here when it comes out.

I think so. I feel a lot of League players who want to experience fighters for the first time are going to get especially salty though.

Reminder that they keep segmenting the characters options in a delluded attempt to create "depth"

And while i think that you can have this kind of mechanics where you choose part of your moveset prior the fight and make it work.

Capcom hasnt done it in a meaningful way in any of the games they have made so far with this approach.

Nah, I agree. Cutting up the characters potential skill set like this for what, the third time in a row just seems silly and kinda forced. If this rumor is true it literally just feels like Capcom thinking "okay we have selectable V Triggers and V Skills, what other system mechanics can we make them pick through at the character select screen?"

    Boring.

Capcom has that weird shared universe thing going on. The CGU is vast and they can pull stuff out of their butts at any time.

It's true. SF, Final Fight and Rival Schools all share the same universe. Captain Commando takes place in Metro City of the far off future too iirc. And with Zeku and all his allusions to Strider Hiryu, maybe his games take place in the far FAR future too.

  5. Jeah I think if ANYTHING should be touched on Seth it's the axe kick. Just kinda weird they immediately nerfed Chun's instant air legs as soon as Season 2 started but Seth gets pretty much the same thing plus his other awesome tools.

At the same time tho... I like that Seth is strong. For a while it felt like Capcom was releasing super safe, flawed versions of characters like Cody, Ed and Falke because they were scared they'd be too broken. I feel like Seth is them finally just saying 'fuck it'. He's probably one of the game's best designed and most fun to play characters imo.

  6. I agree completely, professional voice acting and on screen acting are two entirely different beasts, when companies try to cast big name actors to garner attention it sometimes works but sometimes it just doesn't. You have guys like Peter Dinklage cast as your companion robot Ghost in Destiny and you can tell the dude was just dialing it in for the paycheck. Honestly when they switched over to Nolan North it literally only improved.

Overall it feels like lose/lose. Well here's hoping out boy Keanu kills it in Cyberpunk 2077!

To me, career bias aside, it's awfully bland, stands out compared  to other characters, and is a step down from Tricia Helfer, her VA in the previous games.

Jeah exactly this. When you have voiceover top tiers like Steve Blum, Phil LaMarr and Troy Baker in your game, a lady like Rousey with next to no voice acting experience is going to sound inferior by default.
