General trick that has won me many matches: AA with st. roundhouse into fierce ball for over 2000 damage.

This x2. Being my first charge character I spent and still sometimes do too much time worrying about charge but this aa beats so much stuff. If it doesn’t send them flying too far you can get coward crouch into lift off of it too. Sometimes even on trade you can get something after like slide.  You can also do sa1/sa3 off of it

I have a feeling Ed is going to be a lot different in SF6. With Modern Controls being a default option, I think that's going to effect the input method of his moves. Honestly I hope they give him more boxing techniques.

I didn’t really care for him in 5 but as time has gone on I’m curious to see what he’s like in 6.  And I’m hoping he is more boxing focused, we ain’t got balrog or Dudley so it feels like we’re missing that

    I got some specifics:

    -What are your bnbs?

-What have you used to deal with DIs?

-What kinda counter hit combos do you have?

-What are your hardest match ups?

I had another one but it slipped my mind 😅

bnb’s- lk,lk, lightning I use this a lot you can switch it up and  throw. Also after certain knockdowns to pressure on their wakeup. It can also go into SA2 if you use od lightning instead.

b.mk/mk dr. Cancel hp, coward crouch wild lift

you can sa1,upball, or for oki df.hp and dash up and be plus 7 I think.

How do I deal with di’s? I try my best but honestly watch your long range buttons lots of them lose to di. F.mk does even when plus I’m pretty sure. I’m just now getting used to reacting to them it cost me alot still.

Counter hit combos I honestly didn’t focus too much on and just used standard block strings.

Hardest match ups? For me personally guile,Ken , deejay no particular order.

i could have added more but it’s already a wall of text😅

  4. After evo and the Saudi tournament I’ve seen a lot of competitive players decide to check out modern.

And I don’t blame them either with these big money tournaments on the line.

Not sure if it’s a hot take but unless they make changes I think by the end of the games life cycle I think way more pros will switch to modern.

  5. Yeah the Saudis suck but they’re giving out the bag right now and I enjoy seeing players get money.

They just made a couple posts about performance bonuses Mena got one for going undefeated in the group stage and daigo got one for most dominate when he got 3 perfects on luffy. Each bonus is 10k.

I don’t know how sustainable this all is but hell get it while you can. Some of the comments from players really puts it in perspective how little the payouts are. Arslan ash commented that the performance bonus was more than he got for winning evo.

He loses to characters with fireballs because he has no decent way through them besides ex breakdance and that's a guess not a reaction.  Unfortunately most of the top tier are projectile characters that can either zone him pretty well or walk behind slow fireballs.   I think he even loses to Ryu.

His best matchups are against non projectile characters.  I think he fights Cammy and Marisa well and also maybe Dhalsim.

    Okay that makes sense

  7. JP got the best command grab in the game unless you’re paying attention to audio cues you get conditioned to block his bs and surprise lol.

Zangief needs buffs they took the stupid route of big damage but left him with no way to really use it.
i understand they don’t want him OP but he needs SOMETHING.

The only character I don’t understand needing buffs is Jamie. I see people everywhere saying he’s weak but I get shit on by Jamie. I feel like I have to block for days and this nigga got a command grab that goes into more shit. His dive kick is ass though.

DI is more annoying because you get hit by it every now and then for big damage, but DR is pretty much mandatory if you want to compete at the Master level online, let alone offline. The people who think DI is stronger are probably the same people who have no clue about frame data.

I’ll be honest I don’t even know how to do DR lol.
But you’re absolutely right about DR being needed at high level. I’m almost at Diamond 4 and realizing the entire system is needed and being aware of when and where to use it.

I don’t really use drive gauge for anything besides OD moves and combo extensions. But the fact that parry just blocks mixups for you reminds me to use it more. I just know my meter management is ass so I try to be frugal with it lol.

I played SF6 on a Series X today and I have to say that the d-pad on that controller is so much better than the immovable brick on that absolute piece of dogshit controller that is the Dualshock 4. Just so you know.

Shit I’d give just about anything to be able to use ds4 over the atrocity that is the ds5 . I’ve learned to tolerate it but it’s ass. Considered buying the victrix fight pad but 200$ for a pad is kind of nuts to me

Capcom seems to think so so 🤷🏽‍♂️

Looking at the battle pass I immediately got flashbacks to apex. I guess we’ll find out if it works later but for now capcom is definitely going after this as if they were a triple a shooter.

The battle pass is full of random bs Knick knacks to keep you going then anything you’d normally unlock in a fighting game is locked behind coins. Only having two colors available on the default costume is gross af.  I think they should have given a little more content because at the end of the day this a game I payed 60$ for I shouldn’t have to buy some of this shit. Grind for it.. fine but I shouldn’t get nickel and dimed for every little thing

Is anyone else bothered by the lack of drive reversal at EVO? I didn’t watch every match over the weekend stream but i can count on one hand the amount of drive reversals I saw. People don’t use it even when there is 0 risk.

The amount of drive impact’s eaten makes me feel better about my reactions. With a million on the line it seems like such a liability when playing people of this skill level
