Hmm...I'm not really sure that's possible.

However, you can set a custom content feed if you like.  Follow threads that are important to you, and then click 'Unread Content' at the top of the page (underneath the light/dark theme switcher).

You'll be able to filter all the threads on the site based on whether or not you follow them, and then save it as a stream.  Then instead of browsing through the whole forum you can simply keep up to date with your followed threads.

I was once lectured on Discord about how Strive was going to be a total failure.  The person claimed that he was an Xrd player and went into all sorts of reasons why Strive was bad and a huge step backward from Xrd.

I found out shortly after that this person didn't even know how to air tech.  They were writing essays about game mechanics but didn't even know how to do one of the most basic things in the game they claimed to play.

Most newer motherboards have a TPM slot, and most newer CPUs have firmware TPM support built in that can simply be enabled through BIOS.

Sadly, there are many MANY CPUs and mobos that do not have this and are all unable to install Windows 11, and some of them are only a few years old.

I have Xeon, 1st gen Ryzen, and 6th gen i7 rigs that all cannot install Windows 11 due to its TPM requirements.  These are all good PCs that have more than the necessary horsepower and still have many years of life left in them as servers and secondary systems -- but they will be locked out of installing the new OS.  If something doesn't change I'll end up having to use modified installers or possibly just move them over to Linux, which I'd prefer not to do.

Just think about this game like SF/KOF.  Just keep telling yourself that not all moves chain together and that S/HS are way better than P or K and you'll get over it in no time.  It's a mindset similar to SFV's heavy use of MP or KOF's close C buttons.

You're great at SFV and that game doesn't really reward relying on light attacks either.  I'm sure you'll be able to change your mindset soon!

That was totally their intent -- they are very clearly trying to get new players/people who were too intimidated by GG before.

People who are used to playing a lot of different games at once / don't have legacy knowledge won't get hung up on the changes in Strive like long-time GG players might.

There are less complaints because the game is fast-paced enough that you get the chance to do the same thing to other people all the time.

People only complain and say something sucks when it happens to them, but it's totally fine when they are doing it to others.  🙃

    I'm not missing your point.

When Crysis was developed there wasn't any console that could run it.  Games that push hardware boundaries exist and have been developed on PC first.  Microsoft Flight Simulator pushes many PCs to their limits and is only getting a Series X release later this year.  I also wouldn't be surprised if the Series X release is somehow gimped compared to the PC version.

During the 3D accelerator wars games were created specifically for hardware that only a small subset of people had, and at a time when standards were changing constantly.   They didn't wait to develop Quake II because they were hoping it would run on a Playstation.  Physx cards are another example.  Basically nobody bought standalone Physx cards, and even when the tech got rolled into Geforce cards it was still a high-end feature for a while -- and yet games still made use of it.  Myst pushed people to buy CD-ROM drives.  They didn't wait for everyone to own a CD-ROM drive before starting development.

There have been multiple instances of technology that only a few people have being used to push forward software as a whole.  The industry does NOT always wait for the latest console to get something before pushing things forward.  PC hardware absolutely does get taken advantage of, and software that demands high-spec parts DOES exist.

Most next-gen games will be pretty similar to what already exists, just with better graphics and load times.  When cross-gen games get phased out there will be some outliers like Ratchet, but overall you're not going to see a sudden wave of innovation -- things will largely be the same.

Also - why are we talking about cross-gen again?  The whole point of this convo was that you said you disliked Microsoft's approach and I wanted to know why. Microsoft's approach is just GamePass.  GamePass doesn't have anything to do with hardware.  Cross-gen is a thing that exists but will soon go away as soon as more console sales happen, and isn't unique to MS.

So the good news is that my local Microcenter has plenty of 6700xt and 6900xt cards available.

The bad news is that the 6700xt is about $1000, and the 6900xt is $2500.  🙃
