I think this is apt. Traditional WASP cooking is categorized by its complete lack of seasoning and flavor. When everything you eat tastes like cardboard you need something with the pure corn syrup shock factor of candy corn just to remind you that flavor as a concept exists.
 
My ex-wife's extended family provided side dishes for Thanksgiving one year. I've never had bad mac and cheese before in my life; never even thought it could happen. Learned a valuable lesson that day.

Candy corn is just chewy sugar. It’s sickeningly sweet on it’s own, but with some salt and nuttiness it’s pretty darn good.

Decided to play Sagat in SFV for a bit, and made a jumpy Ken ragequit at the end of the first round on our second fight. That made my day.

I was huge into slashers when I was younger. As I've gotten older I've sort of lost my love of em, so the more artsy fartsy ones are creeping to the fore. Still love horror movies in general though. 

+1 vote for Hereditary. That movie is amazing.
 
I actually liked that director's follow up even more (Midsommar) but it's not quite the same thing. Hereditary is the easier recommend and the better Halloween movie.
 
If you haven't seen "The Witch" I thought that was a fun little horror ish flick. Also seasonally appropriate.
 
I feel like I've watched a bunch of horror movies recently but most of them are ones I'd recommend with caveats. Also for Halloween you want a certain feel to a movie.
 
Like "Lake Mungo" was really good, but not quite a Halloween movie despite it being a ghost story.
 
When in doubt just serve up a double batch of Hellraiser 1 + 2. Then immediately stop or move to something else.

Word. I'd really like to beat RE7 by Halloween, and it's about 10 hours, so I doubt that I'll play anything this week. Still need to get my BnBs down in MK anyways. But I might hit you up. At the very least, if I get horror'd out, a few games of 3S or something might be a good pallet cleanser. 
Then again, it is spooky season, so we could try the horror that is Tekken 7 online again🤔

The switch is basically the console I always wanted since I was a little kid. I always preferred hand helds because we only had one tv and so being able to play my consoles growing up wasn't always easy. And when we'd go on trips or out I'd have my GameBoy or one of those Tiger handheld games (still have a soft spot for those things), but being able to play the SAME games both handheld AND on tv?? Come on. I wanted one of those PSPs with the TV Out on it but never managed to get one, but this is even better. I can count on one hand the number of times I've played it docked since I got it for Christmas, but having that option is awesome.

Do y'all think that how good the save room theme of RE games is an almost 1 to 1 representation of the game itself?
 
I'm listening to them all now, and I gotta say, the shitty games have shitty themes.
The comp I'm listening to uses results screen music if the game doesn't technically have save rooms. 
 
RE2 still the 🐐

Awesome. The scenery there is so beautiful it almost looks like photoshop if you've never seen anything like it (and I hadn't. My girl told me that people used to accuse her of retouching her pics of the place)  We got a lot of beach time in, did some sailing, a lot of snorkeling, even did some parasailing.
 
The food was also pretty great! Pate is one of my favorite things ever and I'd had gas station pate before but we ended up stopping at this little soul food shack on the main drag and having some there and it was incredible. It's a beautiful place, we'll be going back at some point for sure!
