It's a pretty sweet history.
 
Dating back to the Haitian Revolution, the Polish influence started in the town of Cazale. In 1802, Napoleon added a Polish legion of around 5,200 to the forces sent to Saint-Domingue to fight off the slave rebellion. However, the Poles were told that there was a revolt of prisoners in Saint-Domingue. Upon arrival the Polish platoon soon discovered that what was actually taking place in the colony was a rebellion of slaves fighting off their French masters for their freedom.
 
During this time, there was a familiar situation going on back in their homeland as these Polish soldiers were fighting for their liberty from the occupying forces of Russia, Prussia and Austria that began in 1772. As hopeful as the Haitians, many Poles were seeking union amongst themselves to win back their freedom and independence by organizing an uprising.
 
As a result, many Polish soldiers admired their opponents, to eventually turn on the French army and join the Haitian slaves. Polish soldiers participated in the Haitian revolution of 1804, contributing to the establishment of the world's first free black republic and the first independent Caribbean state. For their loyalty and support in overthrowing the French, the Poles acquired Haitian citizenship after Haiti gained its independence.

Preppy is or was super respected by everybody. Banning him because he said some foul shit would've gone over as well as...well the whole April's Fools stuff. d3v saw everything and didn't do shit so fuck him. I ban Preppy and suddenly I have Wiz in my ass going nuts again.
 
Some dude made an alt in SRK saying I said shit in public to rile people up. I absolutely did not do that. Like I said before, d3v ignored all the bullshit in private, I had already made a post saying why I had quit SRK. Since I wasn't left alone, I put all that shit in public where it was safest for me to get it resolved.
 
I can't access my PMs anymore, but d3v basically told me that Preppy didn't see anything wrong with the shit he said to me. Any guilt he may feel about it, he only feels because he is basically pretending. I didn't expose him at any point during either the first post saying I quit or the entire time I was pressing d3v in public.

Dude this lying ass sociopath. This is why I don't want shit to do with him. At no point did I threaten him. I have screenshots to prove it. I never threatened him in PMs on SRK or in discord. You want discord logs and screenshots form the last convo I had with him? I'll provide them. Hell, I'll scroll through them on OBS and record it on video so you know I'm not lying.

This site looks far and away nicer than SRK currently does. Shit, I haven't been logged in here since around the time the site was created. Back when SRK was announced to shut down in 2018. In all honesty, migrating to this site just feels like a natural move for anyone that still uses SRK. The people that own and run SRK obviously don't care about it. I've lost count of how many times over the years that the community has been given false promises as far as improving the site. Many people have always been vocal about what would make the place better and it has always fallen on deaf ears.  Even after agreeing to keep the forums going and making changes, the Cannons never followed through. I'll probably continue lurking SRK with the occasional posts every now and then as always. But as far as Mega Shock is concerned, I say bring on the blackjack and hookers!!

Imma just go around erasing post at random so some of ya'll stay at level 1 👀

HorribleSubs began more than a decade ago providing subtitles for anime. We have grown way beyond what was originally imagined. But... as the cliché saying goes, all good things must eventually come to an end.
This was a hard decision to make for the team, but the truth is, our real life responsibilities have been growing, especially in the times of COVID-19. COVID-19 has really impacted us in various ways, but ultimately it negatively affected how much time we were able to frequently contribute. After some reflection and evaluation, we realized moving on was the best way forward. You could technically say COVID killed HorribleSubs.
This is naturally a good transition point since the Summer 2020 anime season ended and the Fall 2020 anime season is just about to begin. Yes, we waited to finish most of the series before dropping this news. Be grateful for that. However, do not worry. We're certain that other groups will pick up the mantle.

Yeah they do seem a little large...I wanted to make sure they were visible but I'll try shrinking them.

sheeeitttt, so I've been watching Friends lately, since I moved to another room where I actually have a tv that's hooked up to cable... this is reminding me just how ridiculously fine those girls were at the time.  Jenn Aniston and Courtney Cox were such a strong 1-2 combo of raw hotness...it was insane.  I liked Kudrow as well though she's ranked slightly behind Courtney and Jenn.  
 
This morning they showed that episode that is probably the most memorable one, where the crew was looking at an old tape of the high school prom.... and Rachel was disappointed because her date didn't show up... Ross was going to take her out but then the other dude finally showed up and Rachel went with him.  It does seem kinda unlikely that one of her caliber would've hooked up with super-dork/nerd boy Ross though....at least back then.  
 
Anyway, I don't normally like romantic scenes that much but it was still a pretty enjoyable scene... perhaps just the positive reaction of seeing "Mr. Nice Guy" actually win for a moment....**unlike** what's usually the case in real life.  In reality Rachel probably would just see him as "like a brother" until MAYBE when they're both in that 36 - 45 year old range....and even that's just a "maybe".
 
but goddamn those girls were hot on the show back then… it was basically the only real reason I was watching it on occasion. I’d still take them today, actually. Jennifer is welcome to sit on my face anytime.
 
.there was also an episode loaded with big-name stars at some point for some reason...and Julia Roberts was on for a few scenes as a girl... Matt Perry's character knew from elementary school.  Julia has never actually looked this smoking hot before; normally I always thought she was overrated big-time, but DAMN you should check her out on that episode as she seduces him.
