That was the real punishment, thinking about getting your ass whooped the entire time. It was pretty effective, and was definitely worse than getting hit with the switch. My mom pulled her punches.

I was a terrible child, so I was spanked with everything from belts to wooden spoons to tree switches.

I can count on one hand how many times I was spanked as a kid. My parents learned pretty quickly that taking things away from me was a much more effective form of punishment.

One thing I’m happy about is that my mom spanked me, but never used a weapon. My wife (who’s Persian) and her cousin both got their asses beat by fists, belts, and frying pans.

Sometimes we have mountain lions or deer just chilling in the middle of the road here. Some really crazy spots too, like 5 miles into the city and away from any kind of forests or vegetation.

It's been a minute since I listened to their original 4 albums, but I'm not gonna pretend that Master of Puppets as an album isn't amazing; similarly with Ride the Lighting (which is arguably better) and And Justice For All...
 
Those three are great metal albums full of great music. I may not be a fan of Orion, but it doesn't mean its bad.

People are going to weird musical hot takes wherever but man, some people are reaching. Had somebody on FB cosigning a tweet saying that Britney Spear's Toxic is better than the whole of The Beatles catalogue.
