Aww I actually love the Muppets. 

My wife and I saw American Fiction this evening. Definitely understand why it's getting Oscar nods (and it deserves them). 
 
The film is definitely stating "WE ARE NOT A MONOLITH" without being preachy. You are watching a movie about the black struggle while the protagonist is making a joke about the portrayal of it. 
Along with the dismantling of many tropes, the movie unapologetically calls out the "white liberal ally" trope in the vein of "intent doesn't negate impact." This happens within the first 5 minutes and provides a number of examples throughout. 
 
If you want something to make you occasionally laugh yet put you in thought, it's a strong recommend.

That's a perfectly fine and normal image at the start of the Aristocats lol. It's funny watching people whine over really trivial shit like that while acting like everyone else are the snowflakes lol. I have Conan the Barbarian books on tape that start with that exact same message, guess what, doesn't matter, no one cares, it puts the stories writing in a historical context and you can go on enjoying it edit free.

Today has been a long day. My wife's surgery was a complete success. Now the real fun part begins. 4-8 weeks of recovery. At least four of those will be without the ability to lift anything over 10 lbs. This will make parenting with a newborn interesting. 
 
While I am thankful that things have overall been on the upward swing, I am ready for all of this to be over.
