So everyone, the last two months have been a hell of a ride. Life threw my family a curve ball. While my soon-to-be son is good, my wife was diagnosed with cancer. I checked out of almost everything in the latter half of May. I haven't said anything in this space because while it's hard to say it, it's much tougher to read it.
 
One of those facts that you never thought you'd learn is that you can have chemo while pregnant with very little risk to the child in the 2nd/3rd trimester (around 2%). Everything is on the up and up. The baby is healthy and tracking normally. My wife (all things considered) is doing remarkably well with the treatment.  The medical team has been nothing but stellar, and the support we've gotten has been awesome.
 
We're having our baby shower this coming weekend, and we've switched it to virtual (since my wife is immuno-compromised). Again, we've got nothing but love from family and friends. Coming to this space has been good as it's a refuge from the grind since we found out. I've also been super reflective. The old adage goes, "Be kind because you don't know what others are going through." I was already pretty empathetic, but this has kicked it up a notch.
 
Still have a few things to prep for (e.g., reviewing what's left on the registry and the daddy-do list) since he'll be here in a month. It's all coming together beautifully.

Why are you judging a fish by its ability to climb a tree? Street Fighter is fundamentally not a single player experience. What they are presenting us is above and beyond what they have historically offered, and what the market as a whole offered.

Not only that, they are committing to years of service for both the single and multiplayer experience. No other FG developer right now is doing that at this level.

As for your criticism of the story, well it's basic and very clearly only a first chapter to a new story. All the characters are kinda chilling more or less. The real effort is in the character and world building. That is clearly where the energy went, and that is the true value of WTM.

 

Am I the only one underwhelmed with these designs? They all look so similar. I thought we moved past this. All the ninjas, kitana/mileena, and now Raiden/Kung Lao all look so damn similar. So little variety in the character models compared to the stages which are impeccably designed.

I know he isn’t out yet, but I just wanted to gush about Rashid in 6. I love how they leaned into him being a streamer. Not only does it feel like a natural evolution his role in G’s story back in 5, it’s common for many real life traceurs to record their free running. The DNA was there and they expanded it in a way that felt genuine to the character.

He's not the type I think. Rashid would probably do charitable acts for their own sake. I'm pretty sure his stream is about fighting or the "search for strength".

What a guy. Even if I disagree with some of things MK has been doing, it's hard not to love Ed Boon.

Yeah, Rashid can be just one of the many that does'nt touch main plot
