whoah hold on now---green peas being added that's an instant "no sale" for me; I can't do it.  That's one of the worst foods.  I am not sure which one I hate more---that or the brussels sprouts.  Both are in that category of "you'd have to pay me a lot of money to ever eat that".

Brussel sprouts have had a glow up in the last 5 years. Now peas. . . . they can have that. We're running the food gauntlet with my 6 month old son. He despises peas 🤣

  2. Our infrastructure isn't built for 4 ton cars. . . .

This is another item that hasn't been considered regarding EVs and the additional weight. I'm not against them and I know the tech will get better (in terms of downscaling) but this is a lot for how things are built today.

That said, this still applies to larger SUVs as well.

Today is a very special version of...

    Transformer's Greatest Moments:

A lifelong dream for me on the 40th anniversary of the franchise!

Freedom is the right of all sentient beings, as well as a picture with the man, the legend-Peter Cullen.

I got a picture with him this afternoon in Orlando. It was very brief. I told him I've been watching him since I Was 2 years old.

There was a panel with him and Frank Welker after the photo session. They answered a few questions and ended with a brief skit with all the classic lines (Peace through Tyranny. etc).

Peter Cullen is the definition of what it should feel like to meet your heroes. Happy for you sir!

Convenience fees for paying rent online should be illegal. $35 extra is quite egregious

    That's robbery.

Damn. Landlords try to rob in any way they can. Though, I must say when I lived in an apartment (just last year) my "convenience fee" for online payments was just under 3 bucks.

Usually this is what I see.

They absolutely are pulling some slick shit, probably skimming that fee off the top to put in their pockets. Lowest fee I've had was $25. You'd think there would be no fee at all since paying online is far more convenient than cash, money order or a check

Gotta be, or the payment processing company is screwing them royally.

  6. My wife and I saw American Fiction this evening. Definitely understand why it's getting Oscar nods (and it deserves them).

The film is definitely stating "WE ARE NOT A MONOLITH" without being preachy. You are watching a movie about the black struggle while the protagonist is making a joke about the portrayal of it.

Along with the dismantling of many tropes, the movie unapologetically calls out the "white liberal ally" trope in the vein of "intent doesn't negate impact." This happens within the first 5 minutes and provides a number of examples throughout.

If you want something to make you occasionally laugh yet put you in thought, it's a strong recommend.

im about to watch Andor for the 1st time. i hear its the best SW tv show disney made. im hyped up for it.

I'd even challenge that statement by saying it's the best Disney Star Wars project. It's a slow burn but stick with it. By the time you get to "The Eye" the show makes you understand what it was setting out to do and did it well. There are also two monologues in that show that honestly are some of the best writing in the saga.

I am not trying to oversell it, but the show made me slow clap. I really hope that Disney continues to release the TV shows on disc. Andor is top-tier Star Wars.

I saw another one of those playing a different song, want to say it was Metallica or something and it was pretty interesting. They sound like beginner guitar & drum students I used to teach.

They do ok getting the bare basic chords and beats down but there's a lot of nuanced stuff, like the little percussive attacks Cobain would make before he changed chords in the chorus section, or the little snare ticks Grohl would make here and there that are a big part of the riffs that are missing.  They're not bad but I'm not worried yet 🤣

There is definitely something to be said for fine motor control. As you mentioned, these machines can play note for note consistently every time, but there lacks something both in expression and the nuance in playing the song that the machines simply don't have.
