TN and a few other states put laws on the books that exempt drivers from prosecution if they run over "protesters" blocking roadways in some cases after all the 2020 shit.

Personally, both parties should be at fault. While I understand that you shouldn't be in the roadway, there is malicious intent if you stop and consciously choose to harm someone.

I think those kinds of tweets are funny. "Hey you're in the way, your blocking the road and making things difficult for people." No fucking duh, that's the whole point. That's the point of the protest to make shit difficult so you might have to in some way pay attention.

Yeah, it's illegal to be in the roadway, but at the same time, you are making a conscious choice to harm.

I was coming out of an EZ pass booth and there was a Model 3 behind and we were both moving, but jfc the difference in speed is nuts. Like you said my car has a V8 and is faster than probably 85% of cars on the road and he blew the doors off my car when he decided he didn’t want me keeping up anymore lol. Don’t get me wrong my car sounds great, but it also felt silly making so much noise for my to get instantly gapped even already going over 100 lol.

That aside, there just aren’t any EVs I like even though I like the concept. The EVs we have now I wouldn’t but even if they were ICE because they’re heavy as fuck, way faster than I want for a public road, they’re expensive, and most of them are shaped like eggs lol. I think a lot of tunes will change when we get something like an affordable Tesla Roadster or the equivalent of an EV Miata.

The difference is that there is 0 loss from the engine (motor) because of gearing. Since the power is literally going to the wheels, torque is applied with little resistance. Now, that said, at top speed, you can trap them, but you'll need more than a 1/4 mile.

Speaking of being too fast for the road, it’s been 1 year with the Mustang and I’m pretty set on a twin or a WRX for my next vehicle. Just can’t decide if I want AWD and if I want to go manual or not.

    Food for thought 🤣

Waiting until things warm up to do a few things to the Charger. I have a new intake manifold, heads, headers, and rear diff to install. It'll then need to be tuned. Before any of that goes on though, I need to restore these Brembos. Don't want to be an example set by this meme:

I'd really like to get a set of 6 piston (Hellcat variant) but the 4 piston will do. I don't know if I want to supercharge the car or not. I have both a 6.1L and 6.4L intake manifold. When I got the diff, the seller practically threw in a 6.1L intake manifold. The 6.4L is better if you remain naturally-aspirated; the 6.1 is better when supercharged since it is cast aluminum.

@OPTIMUS124Yeah that is pretty funny. However, there is also the other size of it. Where people confuse displacement with actual physical engine size and weight.A BMW N63 (4.4L)  V8 weights more than Chevrolet LT2 (6.2L) V8. The N63 is 503lbs. The LT2 is 472Lbs. It's not just displacement but engine type that matters. A DOHC V8 like the N63 is physically larger than a OHV V8 like the LT2. This the reason why the original CTS-V had an LS6 (5.7L) V8 in it instead of a Northstar (4.6L) V8. They would have had to use forced induction to get a Northstar V8 that had the same power output at the LS6 and that would have made it too large to fit in the engine bay. Not only that the LS6 weighs less (355lbs) than the standard Northstar (403lbs). A Northstar with forced induction would be even heavier.

Absolutely. You also have torque. Power to weight ratio is absolutely a thing. I appreciate all of this.

The car community really is all up in arms about EVs vs. ICE as if it's a war of factions. It's just how the vehicle propels itself. At the same time, a lot of enthusiasts love things about the car that are actually inefficiencies or waste by-products. I've seen tons of posts about how EVs are so quiet. The reality is that sexy exhaust is really just a tuned fart 🤣. I love my V8, but people need to chill with the EV hate. There is some cool tech out there.

  4. Finally got around to watching The Creator. I thought it was worth a watch but at the same time I was really hoping that they'd dive a lot deeper into the parallels of humans and AI constructs and the meaning of being human. It felt like they left something out because running and gunning needed to happen.

It's also insane that a movie with that budget looks faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar better than the most recent MCU offerings in the VFX department.

good luck on that lady trying get that class action suit going for her cat son.  Maybe she'd have more momentum if there was a school for cats that her son identifies as but unfortunately it is a human school...they don't teach anything to anyone who isn't human there so...

It's fake. People trying to get that 18.783 seconds of fame.

So far there hasn't been a credible source stating someone is trans-feline.

I actually like the first one. Like it's not amazing but it's fun enough. I even like this movies Megatron, he's imosing every second he's on screen.

    The sequels...............eh...

For me 1 and 3 are the standouts. The second movie has only one scene worth going to the theater for . . . The Forest Battle

TF4 was a movie with potential, but it got really lazy at the cutting room floor. The Last Knight is the only movie I have apologized for taking someone to see.

1st and 3rd Bayformers are decent.  2nd one is YEEEESH...and the 4th 5th ones are just lower quality overall with some interesting ideas sprinkled throughout.  Pretty glad that Bumblebee gave the movie franchise a much needed refresh and course correction with Bay not in the driver's seat.

    Agreed.

I still haven't seen Bumblebee. It's worth watching? I liked the first Transformers, and watched them all up until the one with Wahlberg. After that I was done lol. The first three were fun though.

It is . . . however It's like a reverse Rogue One with the nostalgia bomb. The first 5 minutes are GOD TIER! The remainder of the movie is good, but doesn't hold a candle to what's seen at the beginning.

Any of you mofos gonna party tonight?  Think everyone here is too old to be out partying anymore

Got a 4 month old and my wife's prepping for surgery this week. We're keeping it really low-key. We got a suite at the premiere hotel on Duke's Campus and just enjoyed each other's company.

Happy New Year everyone. Thanks to all of you for helping make last year special. Despite the highs and lows, this has been a great place to kick it.
