Oh yeah, the amount obviously changes things pretty drastically... like the difference between whether I moved to the "rich" area of town or not. If it was "just" something like 1 or 2 mil then at that level I'd stay where I am. At 20 mil and up I'd move to a certain neighborhood where the "cheapest" property is probably no less than 750 or 800k. In neighborhoods like that you probably don't have to worry about "Deebo and Big Worm" goons (*ah, if only I could "Thanos snap" such people out of existence completely...) causing trouble anymore....especially if it's a gated community as well. There's some areas here where the homes look like something you'd see a soap opera family of characters living in. This also depends of course on how the numbers add up for estimating how much upkeep and any staff for the new place would cost.
On a smaller amount of sudden money where I'd have to keep working... 1 thing I'd spoil myself with would be something nice in terms of a car, like a Porsche. Everything else I enjoy is relatively cheap, like the acquisition of some more arcade machines....but that's possible even on an ordinary "middle-class" salary anyway.
Not sure who I'd tell if I won F U money, but there will be signs.
Pull up to the cookout . . .

I disagree actually, a nightly trip to the bar will show you plenty of ugly, degenerate, disgusting men getting laid with little effort.
Hell the joke kinda cancels itself out. If being a slut is easy that means getting laid can't be that hard, there are sluts everywhere. So being a "stud" isn't all that demanding either.
Alcohol is the great equalizer.

I didn't watch Secret Invasion and based on what I've heard, I didn't miss much. One thing I heard REALLY pissed a lot of people of though. And I see why.
When Tony died, it wasn't the real Rhodey that was there it was the Skrull Rhodey....yeah that's fucked up. His best friend died and an impostor was there when he said his last words.
I watched the last episode and it wasn't confirmed. This seems more like a mountain out of a mole hill because . . .
SpoilerRhodey has braces on up through Endgame and bleeds red in that movie. In all appearances after Endgame (e.g., F&WS, Secret Invasion), he doesn't have the magic robo-braces. The final episode confirmed the situation regarding Rhody increasing his step count.

Me watching that latest episode (especially that final battle)

Super easy to look tall when you’re wearing 8 inch lifts.

Most interior doors in the US are at least 80 in tall.
If she is 6'5 (77 in) and wearing any sort of heel (which is apparent in both outfits), she'll be against the frame.
Don't think it's an 8, but somewhere between a 3 - 5 in heel/platform.

Does anyone know of a good computer desk that's big and sturdy enough for one of those dual monitor mounts with arms (search Huanuo to see what I'm talking about)? Budget is 200-500.
Are you looking to buy or build?
I have to reconfigure the space in my loft area as an office. I plan to build a unit by the end of the year. My job gives me 12 weeks of parental leave. That's enough time to draw something in concept.

Buy whatever damn desk you please. 🙂
I just use a standard one from IKEA.
This.
Even if you found something that may not be a "computer desk," you can add a few things with cable routing and make it into what you need it to be.

So everyone, the last two months have been a hell of a ride. Life threw my family a curve ball. While my soon-to-be son is good, my wife was diagnosed with cancer. I checked out of almost everything in the latter half of May. I haven't said anything in this space because while it's hard to say it, it's much tougher to read it.
One of those facts that you never thought you'd learn is that you can have chemo while pregnant with very little risk to the child in the 2nd/3rd trimester (around 2%). Everything is on the up and up. The baby is healthy and tracking normally. My wife (all things considered) is doing remarkably well with the treatment. The medical team has been nothing but stellar, and the support we've gotten has been awesome.
We're having our baby shower this coming weekend, and we've switched it to virtual (since my wife is immuno-compromised). Again, we've got nothing but love from family and friends. Coming to this space has been good as it's a refuge from the grind since we found out. I've also been super reflective. The old adage goes, "Be kind because you don't know what others are going through." I was already pretty empathetic, but this has kicked it up a notch.
Still have a few things to prep for (e.g., reviewing what's left on the registry and the daddy-do list) since he'll be here in a month. It's all coming together beautifully.
Thank you all for being great play cousins!

A work of fiction works because it clues you in about the rules the world has, the tone, etc so you can set you expectations and immerse yourself on the setting.
This is why John Wick works so well after four movies.

it must be a wonderful thing to be born a hot chick. i wonder how she earned the money to buy it? im sure for something intellectual.
The fact that she didn't pay before picking up the gas handle screams "funny post because algorithm got me to do it".

People must understand the value of spending money on their beds and shoes.
When I started getting more serious about running, I quickly realized that getting stuff out of the bargain bin vs. a good pair of purpose-built shoes makes a difference. The same goes for casual wear also.
