So these FT10 3rd Strike matches are so good. Even if you're not a diehard fan of the game, they're worth a watch.
@DayaanI'm assuming you saw
So many crazy interactions in those sets. High level 3s is something else.
Saw some tweet that was like "these players assume their opponent is good, so they do questionable things" and that really got to me.
Edit: found it

Watch your replays if possible.
Check what is giving you problems in general and in specific matchups.
Dont internalize your loses in a negative way.
I know it is easy to say than do, but if you let the frustration build up, you only make it harder for you to learn.
Internalizing was one of the worst things I did as a player and I've done it for waaaaay too long. I was running some mvc2 sets with a friend and unfortunately I didn't think to record replays, but I'm running the scenarios through my head.
Trying to accept that I'm not playing the game wrong, I'm just not playing against the person right.

Having one of those days where I need to remind myself that there is another human being on the other end playing these games with me. Trying to adapt to my opponent but I keep getting overwhelmed.
What are some tips fellas

Sound is definitely a part of it. I don’t actively listen for it but I’m definitely sharper when I’m listening to game sounds than when it’s on mute or I’m listening to music.
I was talking with some og players about this topic and they all seemed to agree that sound queues were the best way to confirm in 3s. I think that translates well with to SFV tbh given the fact that each hit strength makes a different sound oH.
-
Hit confirming in SFV is similar to SF3. I'm looking for the screen to have a spasm and making a decision based on that lol
In practice, probably the hit sparks and the audio queues. Some kinda mixture. Feel like for light confirms (which there is substantially more in V compared to 3s) looking at anything like meter or stun bar doesn't seem as helpful.
Shake n bake.

I'm down to platinum's and ultra gold now.
Ah yes. They play pretty wild. Definitely a test of patience from what I remember. Sometimes doing nothing (literally nothing) will be your saving grace for online SFV.
They will downback for days and buffer in any moves/motions during blockstun to interrupt you. Makes you anxious to do anything.
I haven't really played for serious on ranked since s1 but watching other players it seems like people just wanna party haha

I've played sf5 two weeks straight almost and i've lost 2.5k points trying to understand how I can't open people up with frame traps and why I can't blow up delay tech without getting mashed on.
I've learned nothing.
I might just hang up sf5 for good or at least till oro and rose.
What level of players are you getting matched against, if you don't mind me asking?

Fuck I'm so stupid and didn't even think to check the Street Fighter V thread for you guys. Happy New Year. Hope everyone is staying safe and holding tight. 🙂
I really took a break from the internet for a while and focused on irl things with work, life, etc. Moved on in life and have pretty big plans for the future. Still playing lots of FGs.
Still enjoy Tekken 7 but decided to get really back into Mvc2, 3s, and just yucking it up in random games. Maybe I will see some of you on fightcade/nulldc sometime 🙂

Just off the top of my head:
Hack/Slash (Don’t read the reboot.)
Locke and Key
The Beauty
American Vampire
Revival
iZombie
Immortal Hulk
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch
Ice Cream Man
Doctor Voodoo: Avenger of the Supernatural
Great list. Appreciate it. Friend also gave the same advice about Hack/Slash.

Started watching "Sweet Home" on Netflix the other night. I never read the webtoon but would always see screencaps on twitter. Pretty cool show.
It got me to start reading the "Bastard" webtoon which I guess is suppose to be a prequel or something to Sweet Home.
I haven't really read any manga, manhwa, etc in over a decade, wondering if there was any horror recommendations anyone on this thread could recommend?

If anyone wants to add me on steam for games, hmu https://steamcommunity.com/id/rep222

I've been so busy with life lately that I haven't really been able to keep with everyone since leaving SRK. I picked up KOF2002UM from the steam sale and was hoping anyone could point me in the right direction for that game.
Just trying to learn the basics of the game, haven't really ever been super serious about a kof game. Heard everyone was playing this version again since it had the rollback update.

Nice, thanks!
also, it seems like it runs DC roms as opposed to just Naomi (or is it just DC?) which version of MVC2 are you using on it?
I believe it is running NAOMI arcade hardware. Bear downloads the files within the actual program, so you don't need to fetch files or anything like that. Super convenient.

@elliephil what’s so different about BEAR? I hear good things about it, but is it still delay based?
It is basically it's own separate client compared to what is available on fightcade. It is still delay based but it is extremely stable. Totally worth looking into. Really easy to setup.
lol the combos don't mean anything once you see me play against the real tough dudes, i'm traaaaaash

I'd love to play some NullDC-BEAR stuff with you.
I don't play MVC2 though. How about Street Fighter Zero 3 Upper or CVS2? 😃
I am supremely ass at both of those games, but cvs2 would be fun :)

NullDC Bear is the tightest thing ever. I've been playing mvc2 netplay on it and having so much fun with it. Anyone here down to play some games sometime?
