I'm just glad to have games that really scratch the itch well- let's not pretend the story was too stellar in most of CV to begin with. Gameplay, music, atmosphere, art design- all of which make way more of the experience than the story. Bloodstained does a great job with those elements, and thanks to RotN's creation we also have 3 great classic style CV games- both CotM titles and the free classic mode in RotN itself. Yeah, the story is dumb, but they do everything else right. I'll take more good CV games with those conditions over the nothing Konami is making.

Man, I wish Haunted Castle wasn't so godawful, it has some really great music. Good thing there's youtube for the tracks that haven't been remixed in a non shitty CV game.

People care way too much about story in games where the story isn't the main focus. I really don't want to read a review or feature that spends 1/2 its time blathering on about the story in a Mega Man game.

Fighters are among the worst for this. You could probably find better writing from an 8 year old with a crayon than the story mode in SFV or any Arc System game. Shit makes me cringe.

Actually I thought Sekiro got intense pretty quickly- I'm just genuinely curious about how long you played it before stopping. I know some people got frustrated pretty quickly at the first mini boss.

We got it, except it's called "Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night" instead being called Castlevania

So I just finished a new playthrough of Doom 2016 after playing Eternal and its DLC's- I do like Eternal more now. It has almost a DMC3 feel for a FPS- you get a ton of tools to survive and play stylishly, but the game will spank you until you learn to combine and use those tools well. '16 felt too tame after Eternal. Eternal also feels more "gamey" in how it streamlines certain things so much more effectively (pits respawn with health loss instead of death, objective switches/items are harder to miss, etc) in the name of fun.

I don't really hate their digital sales. But having bought a bunch of games on the Wii VC and them not carry over to the Wii U VC was kinda annoying. And then again with the Switch releasing games I've already paid for only at their discretion and tied to Nintendo Online is pretty shitty.

Hard Corps: Uprising (aka the ps3/360 Contra) is part of Games with Gold for April. I'd buy it again to have it on PC (still have it on 360) if that were an option.

Just throwing this out there, Ninty isn't really any dif when it comes to digital and actually in some ways they're worse in this boat.  The only one of the big 3 that has put forth the most effort to essentially keep most of their games available as they've been upgrading has been M$.

Well, i wouldnt be surprised if this actually hurts them in a big way.

This is one of the most stupid decisions they have made so far, specially when the competition keeps all the games and are actually working on ways for players to access those old games with their new consoles.

Sony deserves to hold a massive L this gen for all the stupid shit they keep doing.
I am not buying a PS5 this gen since they are showing me that my library is at risk with those fuckers.

Eternal’s TAG2 is definitely easier than TAG1 and that was by id’s design. They wanted TAG2 to be more fun and rewarding... I think they should have told people about this ahead of time (and mentioned that they were working on master levels for it as well) so people weren’t expecting TAG2 to be the same/harder as TAG1, but anyways.... I kinda love TAG2. TAG1 was always fairly exhausting for me and I rarely played it when I was just looking to have fun. TAG2 is much more approachable in that regard. I think I’ve beat it like  5 times now

I wish Nintendo would stop taking cues from Disney circa 1995 with this "back in the vault" crap.

I searched high and low for a ps2 disc of the game but the one I finally found didn't come with the OST disc. There are so many great songs on that, Burly Heart being one of my faves.
