Word is their profit margins on their graphics cards are slim, thanks to Nvidia, and Nvidia cutting them under by selling Founder Edition cards. 

Worst is that EVGA and other board partners gets drivers about the same time Youtube reveiwers do, and the board makers has to spend months designing the card. 
Nvidia leaves their partners in the dark so for so much. And Apparently EGVA had enough.
