Both Makoto's and Ibuki's 3S stage would look amazing in 6, I reckon.

Just played the beta over Parsec with a friend, the first time I've used Parsec. The lag was a bit rough, but shitting hell, the game's fun against real people. He was hosting, but I managed to take a few games of him. even got to feel real fancy with a drive rush combo that completely burned out my meter before losing. I was a little apprehensive about the game, given the beta and just playing against the CPU, but now I can't wait for release.

I loved playing as Yang, though also never did well. His command dash, rekkas, and superior close mk jump cancels had the making of a really interesting and tricky character.

I actually used to follow T.Hawk players because there weren't than many of them and it was fun to see them put in work. I still remember when they buffed Condor Spire in SFIV and people were bitching because Hawk finally had some broken shit.
Same re. Yang players, though I can't remember any. Always thought he was more interesting than Yun, and got battered too soon.

Native Impact or Koji KOG?
I'm not going to let "facts" or the "truth" get in the way of my ever so slightly amusing Hawk jabs - though I'm glad the video helped seal the deal on SF6 for my buddy; he mained Dudley and Hawk and never got into SFV. We used to play IV for hours at a time once over.

@EvilCanadianI know the other Hawk main, sent him your vid
Quoteooo that is exciting
that is basically t hawk with cooler stuff

It's crackers to think I might actually be able to join some silly lobby and have matches with you guys. I'm really looking forward to it. I think I've played Matt, Darc, The Poster Formerly Known As You, Volt and Sonero with mostly shit lag but when things worked, enjoyed. @Voltif this stuff works, we can train non-stop for a bit if you like, so you can get to grips with shit (though I am bad)

Still don't quite understand the instant round start drive rush the Cpu sometimes does, I might have to watch it more closely but it doesn't do the cancel out of a normal and it doesn't enter the party stance fully either
It's a shortcut as @Soneronoted - tap forward then forward again at just the same time as hitting mp+mk. Kinda like a FADC reversed, with the mp+mk on the last frame of the dash.
-
@SoneroThanks. What is really giving me issues is mid-combo drive rushes from neutral, like Ryu's juiced up qcb+p to drive rush. That's the timing that's killing me, on recovery on a special that knocks folk up and I return to neutral - it's a pisser, but I guess just practise will help; I remember thinking I could never FADC a dp onceover!

I don't know if it's been mentioned here yet, but in the beta you can access a kind of weak-arsed training mode. Go to character demonstrations, and select one that involves the level three super. Hit touchpad at some point during the demonstration, and you can give it a go yourself - except you've got full replenishing resources and can try all sorts of crap out. Drive rush timing is far trickier than I would have guessed.

bummed about the DLC pipeline but there's way more going into these characters than normals so I understand.
Same, but if they can keep it up consistently - a new char every three months - I reckon that'll feel so much better than SFV's char release 'pattern'

It's a typo. They mean Winter 2023. Most of Winter 2023 takes place in 2024. Only 11 days of Winter 2023 is actually in 2023. They showed Ed before Akuma in the trailer.
Yeah, sorry just saw your post as I edited. "After the new year". That's a relief!

These DLC dates are rough, Akuma spring 2024? Wow. It really is only 4 characters a year
Ed in Winter 2024? It's 4 chars every 15 months or so, as it stands. 9 months between Akuma and Ed? Is 2024 a typo for Ed?Edit: My bad, Ed is the third in the winter, after new year, was spooked then

Just tested, it's two player

Game seems OK on PS4, I'm pleasantly surprised - though just went to Fighting Ground and did the "walking" mission. A bit fuzzy, but way better than I anticipated
Edit: some real framerate issues in World Tour, including fights, but FG games seem great.

I have a long standing perspective on this which is that any merchandise containing Street Fighter characters in the year before the arrival of an SF game and during it's lifecycle is in the service of said game.
That's perfectly sensible, but I remember a BornFree video suggesting that was the
case with these items re SF5.It's not a negative from me though, I'd like to see Fei back too, but personally am tempering expectations 😞Edit: Wait, those linked above are some links from DeviantArt. Never trust EH. Anyhow, BornFree did make a video about some Oro merch, I'm sure!

How much of a blowup do you guys think week 1 of SF6 is going to be?
My one worry is some reviewers - and players - will play the World Tour mode and think "The open world part of the game isn't as fun as I'd like", and judge the game on that rather than the mechanics, content, and combat. I know I shouldn't give a fuck about it all, but if (when) that happens it'll annoy me. "Great fighting game, poor open world mode". gtfo

As soon as we got the option to choose char themes over stage themes (in Super?) I chose those, but some of the stage themes were pretty good, listening to a few now through nostalgia goggles:
But now and again, we need to be reminded of:
