  1. Just played the beta over Parsec with a friend, the first time I've used Parsec. The lag was a bit rough, but shitting hell, the game's fun against real people. He was hosting, but I managed to take a few games of him. even got to feel real fancy with a drive rush combo that completely burned out my meter before losing. I was a little apprehensive about the game, given the beta and just playing against the CPU, but now I can't wait for release.

I actually used to follow T.Hawk players because there weren't than many of them and it was fun to see them put in work. I still remember when they buffed Condor Spire in SFIV and people were bitching because Hawk finally had some broken shit.

Same re. Yang players, though I can't remember any. Always thought he was more interesting than Yun, and got battered too soon.

  3. It's crackers to think I might actually be able to join some silly lobby and have matches with you guys. I'm really looking forward to it. I think I've played Matt, Darc, The Poster Formerly Known As You, Volt and Sonero with mostly shit lag but when things worked, enjoyed.  @Voltif this stuff works, we can train non-stop for a bit if you like, so you can get to grips with shit (though I am bad)

Still don't quite understand the instant round start drive rush the Cpu sometimes does, I might have to watch it more closely but it doesn't do the cancel out of a normal and it doesn't enter the party stance fully either

It's a shortcut as @Soneronoted - tap forward then forward again at just the same time as hitting mp+mk. Kinda like a FADC reversed, with the mp+mk on the last frame of the dash.

  5. @SoneroThanks. What is really giving me issues is mid-combo drive rushes from neutral, like Ryu's juiced up qcb+p to drive rush. That's the timing that's killing me, on recovery on a special that knocks folk up and I return to neutral - it's a pisser, but I guess just practise will help; I remember thinking I could never FADC a dp onceover!

  6. I don't know if it's been mentioned here yet, but in the beta you can access a kind of weak-arsed training mode. Go to character demonstrations, and select one that involves the level three super. Hit touchpad at some point during the demonstration, and you can give it a go yourself - except you've got full replenishing resources and can try all sorts of crap out. Drive rush timing is far trickier than I would have guessed.

I have a long standing perspective on this which is that any merchandise containing Street Fighter characters in the year before the arrival of an SF game and during it's lifecycle is in the service of said game.

That's perfectly sensible, but I remember a BornFree video suggesting that was the case with these items re SF5. It's not a negative from me though, I'd like to see Fei back too, but personally am tempering expectations 😞

Edit: Wait, those linked above are some links from DeviantArt. Never trust EH. Anyhow, BornFree did make a video about some Oro merch, I'm sure!

    Found the bugger:

But he was on the money with Alex!

How much of a blowup do you guys think week 1 of SF6 is going to be?

My one worry is some reviewers - and players - will play the World Tour mode and think "The open world part of the game isn't as fun as I'd like", and judge the game on that rather than the mechanics, content, and combat. I know I shouldn't give a fuck about it all, but if (when) that happens it'll annoy me. "Great fighting game, poor open world mode". gtfo
