I already have the REDACTED on my computer
Does anybody who played the beta on PC also have these [REDACTED] files? I'm concerned about performance. On my PC is seems to be rebuilding all the shader caches all the time, and it runs like crap during some CAs, but I'm guessing/hoping that the REHook is slowing things down. Also, how is stick compatibility? I can only use my stick via a 360 pad emulator and it's laggy as all hell.

just curious of what everyone’s cut off is for fighting games and maybe all games
I've got a Tekken buddy who could never get his head around 2D games, esp their inputs. We played a tonne of sets of Blazblue (CP Extend, iirc) and he started off with the assisted mode. A lot of his troubles were timing, and had to maximise every hit he got. It was fun, and he soon dropped assist mode - can't remember what it's called - and wanted to spend training time. I like the idea of training wheels, but only if they're somewhat gimped to act as a gateway drug to get people to commit. He's now got an insane Nago in GGS and can't wait for SF6.
Also being an oldhead, I don't want the dexterity I've developed to go to waste, so I know I'm biased. But there's something insanely satisfying on a fundamental level; a micro-walk then to neutral to avoid getting a command normal out, or late-cancelling a normal to squeeze enough charge a special, etc.. I like fighting games as competition, but also as puzzles, discovering how all the pieces and limitations - including input restrictions - fit together. And it's crazy seeing somebody pull something insane off in a tournament. -

literally Cammy kicks the camera man for trying to track her
Crap, I never noticed that. Super secret Cammy keeping her ops private! This attention to detail and love is insane

@Sonerore. the tweets, which are impossible to quote: fucking hell - 100 miles radius: best play online. "Limiting your community" my arse.

Now and again see people mourning SRK on Reddit, even saying how it's a shame Discord and Twitter has "all the tech". I'm always tempted to tell them about MS, but no fucking way I'm making an account there

Also thank-you to the patron of the arts for this, a tune I have loved and whistled for coming on 30 years:

Keep guest characters out of SF
Yes. As somebody who mained Decapre for a bit, it's terrible to think you've chosen somebody who'll never likely appear again, other than a function, as most guest chars would become. I like charge, and I can piano. And Decapre was fun as fuck!
-
Most chars have some weird twist or v-skill like power up that helps their gameplay, like Lily's wind stock, Ryu powering up his fireballs, or Guile's perfect charges, etc. Do we know if Zangief has any?

Running bear grab still there, then

I don't think FF 7 had the cultural impact that SF2 had.
Tend to agree - anecdotal, but at the time I only had one friend show me a FF7 demo disc for PS1, when basically all my school buddies had a SNES and played SF2 a tonne at one point or another (I once even rushed home from a girl I liked's place to get my Turbo cart to show her Chun Li's new fireball having discovered she liked SF, a fact I still shudder about that when remembering to this day...)
I think that maybe as RPGs have become more mainstream though, FF7 is lauded as the one that really broke into the public consciousness. At the time though, not even close. SF2 was the biggest game in the country (and I understand, world) at the time.

Hard to say. Since it's so recent and by the same dev team for the most part, I don't think so, but I can see them elaborating or tweaking things. They may be vague overall and just build from what was there if they're going to reference SFV.
The Rose storyline (I guess) wasn't originally planned for SFV either, so if they wanted wriggle-room for 6's story, then that's one way of getting it.
Side note, I'm not even half-convinced, but I'd personally like Cammy's stage to be more in the grim dark north of England where I'm from, the stage really reminds me of an area in Manchester, even down to the streets on the right hand side of the road:
Red bus, can't explain. But "Big Ben"? (Photo from a little along the road)
Pointless speculation, but I'd like somewhere closer to home to be in there!

This Twitter account has a new Japanese artbook (Street Fighter V Climax Arts +Zero to 6), and is highlighting sections of interest from it (in Japanese). Thought some folk here would enjoy.

Saw this, here - seemingly from some artbook (apparently "Street Fighter V Climax Arts +Zero to 6") - the punch seems pretty on the money, anyhow

Cammy's look initially had me wondering if she's on the run, but the site description + casual outfit makes me wonder if she's furious at being stuck on deskwork at HQ
She seems quietly on the lookout for somebody, then attacks JP from what I gather. I hope she's on the front line

Cammy has hold moves now?! Wtf lol
That's one of the aspects of SFxT I really liked. I wonder if she'll have an overhead normal now? With Drive Rush (and in a vacuum), it seems chars without one will be at a disadvantage

Cammy looks amazing, aside from the flag on the back, which still looks weird to me. Her stage looks fucking superb too, like a mix of London and Manchester.

Maybe it's a zoner mentality, but I find a good Rose so fun to watch

@Chun-Li_ForeverThat's a pisser, but it's good to know in advance (given it'll end at about 4am my time) , ty

I used to like Dee Jay's music in SF2 (not so much SF4) but this is... hrmm.

Thanks @Darc_Requiem- I've got two PS3 sticks that I know won't work on the PS5 (Q4 RAF and TE), but I kinda stupidly bought a (cheapo, Venom) PS4 stick for the SFV betas. Turns out it's not a bad stick, and is licensed, so feeling pretty hopeful now, ta!
-
Considering getting a PS5 before SF6 launches, and I'm looking into PS4 fightstick compatibility. I read that "If it's an officially licensed PS4 stick it'll just work", but others seem less confident. Does anybody here know if it's that simple? It seems to get less clear with PS4 back compatibility games, legacy modes, and crap.
(I dunno if you're still here @Mattatsu(hope you're good if so!), I'd have asked you on Twitter hadn't I deleted my account there - can you shine any light on this pls?)

My one worry is some reviewers - and players - will play the World Tour mode and think "The open world part of the game isn't as fun as I'd like", and judge the game on that rather than the mechanics, content, and combat. I know I shouldn't give a fuck about it all, but if (when) that happens it'll annoy me. "Great fighting game, poor open world mode". gtfo
