It's not. Fighting game discussion has moved to Discord, Reddit and twitter. The youngins don't care for forums.

Those are all pretty terrible tho. No one can follow every post on reddit and twitter; and no matter how vigilant the Discord admin, for new games they can't catch -everything-.

It was actually really exciting in the way I imagine an archaeological dig would be and it inspired me to make content for the game so people wouldn't have to learn everything the hard way. I miss those days.

I've had to do this for Alpha 2, and I suspect I'll have to do it for MvC2 and CvS2. My goal is for people to not have to do this, as it's quite annoying to filter through scrub talk (P-groove Vega, "my triple shoto team from MvC2 is totally viable bro") from 17 years ago.

Guy is a programmer and is friends with all the people who use to run SRK. He was doing a lot to improve SRK but he just had to get into pointless arguments in one thread.

He showed his character. Having the ability to do stuff you like wont magically make him a better person.

Oh no doubt. It's impossible to defend his actions from that PM.

However, if he sticks to his lane with the wiki (which he seems suited for, it's a relatively low amount of work on the backend), and it's better as a result, I can't knock that. This guy Shiburizu (who also owns Mizuumi wiki, btw) has also been a huge help.

I'm passionate about this because I f'ing hate digging through twitter/discord (I don't even try on reddit) looking for info. People in the fgc are absolutely insane if they think those are reasonable replacements for wikis.

There are other problems, like some info just not being recorded, but it's still better than chasing blindly through the net looking for stuff.

I was actually testing this today. I was looking for Silver Samurai info (admittedly a pretty irrelevant competitive character), and there's a bit on SRK. If you look on youtube, there's a very very small amount of stuff, usually some 15 second combo clips. For a game that's 20 years old, that's pretty bad. Literally probably the best source of info for SS is.... gamefaqs. Not sure where I'm going with this rant actually.

  3.

People might have issues with Preppy but he's been invaluable in updating the SRK wiki.

Also (edit): I don't know for sure what's happening with the rest of SRK (although I'm -almost certain- the forum is going to move to different software), but the wiki is going to be focusing on Capcom, Tekken, (old) SNK and MK going forward. Some niche fighters like Karnov's will remain, but a lot of abandonware games are going to be deleted from SRK, especially ones that have better resources (Dreamcancel, Dustloop, Mizuumi).

Alright, so what's gotta happen is I try to make a parler account and see if they ask me for SSN.

It wouldn't matter even if they did. According to what the CEO said in the screenshot I -just posted-, user verification data is deleted immediately once your account is verified.

So they don't keep your SSN sitting around on a server somewhere.

He could be lying, it's not like big tech CEOs are always honest, but that's just speculation.

I've checked CNN, AP, and Zerohedge for any news about this and saw nothing. Could they be slow? Yes (although with Zerohedge's reputation, they wouldn't take long to repost a conspiracy). Or, OR, it's just a rumor.

Yang is playing footsies like Dudley is. Yang and Dudley have different gameplans when they have you cornered it isn't "semi grappler" stuff.

I'd agree with everything you said aside from this. Yang is "playing footsies" in the sense that every character is, but he has so many tools to essentially skip footsies in a way that Dudley definitely doesn't.

    3s is so wack anyway.

Five Guys is hella overrated. Too expensive for what you get.

Not sure if people have tried Whataburger's spicy chicken sandwich, but that thing sucks all the balls.

Never tried the spicy chicken sandwich, but Whataburger is top tier burgers.

And I've tried In-N-Out, it was heavily overrated. And no, California assholes, the restaurant is not magically better when it' s in California instead of Dallas, TX.

Anyone know what this is about?

Anime FGC just committing seppuku every month now.

I don't want to be known as "the guy who hates Granblue", BUT...

    - there's a very high amount of DLC relative to the base roster
    - the online is absolute doo-doo

Even without whatever drama is happening there now, those 2 things alone are reason enough for the game to die.

Under Night is great. I used to play the hell out of it before DBFZ dropped. The cast is incredibly unique and doing combos in that game feels damn good.

Granblue is awesome too, but I feel I got bored with it pretty quickly since it's just such a simple game. The new characters would've gotten me back into it probably but, Arcsys expects you to shell out $80 for the "get all the characters" Edition and then another $50 for the second set of characters.

    Dudes must be high.

I agree, Under Night is probably a much better and less exploitative pickup than Granblue.

Granblue is one of the strangest feeling fighting games I've ever played. Weird meme-y runs, slow jumps for most characters, small throw range, special move cooldowns (wtf), really basic combo structure. I just don't get the appeal.

Both games get called "anime ST" but until there's anime games with jump-in combos that do 60% with 3 hits, fireballs with absurd hitstun/blockstun, and rounds that last like 25 seconds, pretty sure nothing should be called that.

Dude is a grade A c--t in MBON too.

He literally has a move where he twirls around shooting bullets everywhere.

Trowa was my favorite pilot, but he piloted a pretty terrible mobile suit. If not for the built in plot armor of Gundam Wing (Gundanium alloy, which is really stupid) he'd probably have died really fast, since he liked to solo entire bases by just standing in the middle and blasting everything.

Sandrock was also a pretty bad suit, but Quatre had the Maganac Corps. to back him up, so it's weaknesses were covered. Quatre is also the most annoying pilot by far.

You can just give up on that dream right now bro.

It's also kind of silly to me that you'd want a shiny new $500 system just to play fucking FFXII.  Which, by the way, you can already do on every system under the sun including PS4 and 5. 🤣

    FFXII is not FF7, it's FF12. Gosh.

I'm skipping PS5 just like I skipped PS4. PC just makes so much more sense than any console to me now, with the exception of 3DS New (I heard this was being discontinued) and possibly the Switch. Those systems have actual benefits over a PC (portability, and kids love the Switch).

This mod just came out and it’s everything you’d want it to be without taking the original spirit out of the game.

Hit me up if you wanna try it.

Diablo 2 LOD was an all-time great game. I spent a lot of hours playing as a barbarian in my teenage years.

I don't think I'd get back into it though, the time investment is too high.

That's bullshit from a sore loser. He needs to take his L and get ready to GTFO when January rolls around.

You show a distinct bias (as do  I).

If the situation were turned around, and Trump had gotten tens of thousands of midnight votes that just barely allowed him to win in swing states which were controlled by republican (rather than dem) governors, you'd be skeptical too.
