Because they are idiots and not real MK fans. Reptile is one of the most awesome characters in FG history. The first secret character ever. He should’ve been in 11 but we got more cashgrabs like Spawn.

MK12 sucked on so many levels. It’s indefensible. MK9 was the last truly great MK game.

Funny cause I am the most real MK fan in existence and id rather Jason, who has one of the most fun movesets in NRS history show up again rather than Reptile, who they stopped caring about in the early 2000s as a character.

I'm not okay with guest characters period. MK has an expansive universe with tons of characters. There are characters that haven't been in MK game in decades. Yet they keep wasting slots on guests. How about they make Mortal Kombat that has....wait for it...Mortal Kombat characters. Guest characters are the equivalent of a "cheap pop" in pro wrestling at this point.

I have no idea how many times I gotta say it but the guests overwhelmingly outsell the regular cast DLC

MKX Jason and Predator outsold every other DLC character combined.

Fans vote with their money, and they keep voting for guests. More people would rather see Jason return in MK12 than reptile.

    *edit*

Its not like the core cast isn't catered to anyways, MK11 had basically everyone important in it by the end(no 3d chars are not important), but guests are proven insanely successful in basically every game. Its exciting and people like it.

This is an extremely dangerous step. I foresee Modern Controls becoming the standard for most players, and Classic controls being phased out in a few games or limited to only the most diehard players.

If u use modern controls on a hitbox thats what unlocks the ability for kano to do the sexality on sonya

I mostly remember some big brain argument that assigning the lever to analog control technically makes the CrossUp legal since it doesn't explicitly state in the rules whether a lever is still considered a lever if it outputs an analog stick while using the directional buttons as a dpad, similar to a dualshock 4... which I don't agree with and still think it should be banned.

Quite honestly, Capcom needs to do a better job writing out what a legal controller looks like. For example: four directional inputs (up, down, left, right on JOYSTICK LEVER, BUTTONS, DPAD or ANALOG STICK, no combination of any these), eight face buttons, start, select, guide. Ez... until you realize that disqualifies pad. Fix game pls.

For the Crossup, the crossup has been used at many CPT events since its been made, and nobody has blinked an eye.

An ergobox I saw just at the CPT finals for lcq, and thats written by the rules, explicitly banned.

Nobody enforces shit and nobody actually cares.

Capcom is back at their height/weight bullshit. There is no way Manon is 5'9". Cammy is 5'5".  Manon is well over 4" taller than her. Capcom is saying Ryu and Manon are the same height. I call bullshit. Also Cammy is 134lbs and Manon is 129lbs. Manon is at bare minimum the same height as Elena.  The FGC isn't the only one with crack problem. Capcom needs to enter rehab.

old soul calibur games had astaroth weighing in at 200 pounds

japan doesn't understand how weight works

I've been thinking about this lately... I'm starting to wonder if the best option for SF6 tournaments would be Xbox. The Series S is less expensive, smaller, usually less latency for most fighting games, and gives legacy support for older Xbox PCB controllers.

PS5 on the other hand is bulky, expensive, typically has worse input latency (running on both PS4 and PS5 mode), and requires users to have a PS5 PCB if the tournament decides to run PS5 version. (Which some have already decided to do.)

My stake in this is that I don't want to pay another $50 to use my stick on a console I don't own lol

99% of sticks and secondary controllers wont work on xbox

shifting burden of cost from TO on to the player to replace their hardware.

Plus the S is effectively just a PS4 pro, its a crippled console, its not a step forward in any real way.

I'm thinking among the mess of reactions is the whole mental stack game and the variety of characters as well as player patterns... Any other considerations or factors?

That's what's up. I'll be 40 in less than a month, on Bison's birthday, nonetheless! Here's to solid reactions for the decades to come!

Great Gatsby Movie GIF by Sony

I duno about the considerations other than so many people are totally full of it over the years and im sick of it lol

like taking about subzero f2 overhead in mk11 being "reliably blockable" 19f overhead when thats the biggest crock ive ever heard, then fake proof of putting themselves up against a bot and cherry picking the footage until it supports what they say.

People still get hit by jumps all the time, that really says it all. Call it mental stack or whatever but my reactions are better than like 95% of people and you are telling me you can react to moves reliably I absolutely can't is BS lol.

So I watched AutoMattock on reacting to DI, which sparked a thought... Am I gonna be ready for it during week one or am I gonna have to work on my reactions a bit more? According to him, DI from at least Ryu is 26 frames. I went to Human Benchmark to check my raw reaction speed: it's 271 ms. Divide that by 16.67 ms and I'm sitting at about 16 frames. My fastest time which seemed like a fluke was half of that at 8 frames. During the betas I wasn't so ready because I needed to train my reactions and have more consideration towards the mental stack of new mechanics in general. Maybe I'll have it down in the next beta? So, how's your raw reaction speed...?

The problem is when people take in "average reaction time" is its literally that, react to stimulus

not react, perceive and assess threat, appropriate response.

A 16f move is not reactable in a fighting game in any real sense cause you need to see it, recognize it for what it is, and then put in the appropriate response into your controller to deal with it.

Let alone whatever delay your input brings in, whatever delay your monitor has, whatever delay is inherent in the game etc etc etc.

That said though Raw DI is reactable in and of itself, but the truth of "reactions" in fighting games is a big giant mess for the most part.
