Well....I'm excited for Oro/Akira.  

Luke looks like a KOF character.

Both characters look awesome.   Going to be a problem trying to figure out who to play first.

Guilty Gear strive sold 500,000 and has almost 5 times the entrants. That legit makes no sense. Not sure how they can have sold that much and have so little engagement competitively.

The casual market is astoundingly large.

They messed up with Season 2 and 4 but to be fair for this season  it's not entirely their fault. Covid & supposed leadership issues led to problems with SF6 so they kind of shoehorned another season into this game's life. The decision to even do Season 5 was probably made not too long before its announcement.

 

To be honest I'm surprised they're still on track with this, considering all the other delays going around in the industry.

 

Yeah, I'll take this season over whatever they were doing before which was mostly radio silence.  The seasonal updates have been a positive change imo.  At least now they're being transparent even though the wait time is frustrating (most likely due to Covid).  

I'm hoping the "and more" means a look at the final character.

It was a strange decision.  He was washing Punk with Poison up 3-1 and then 2-0 in the final set, lost a close game (could have gone either way just came down to one read in the 2nd round) and then made the switch to Laura and proceeded to lose the next 2 games and the tournament.  I think he was trying to play a mind game because the last minute character switch helped him beat Punk at Capcom Cup but that switch was from Laura to Poison and this was the opposite.    

I honestly think he would have won if he stuck with Poison because it is a much better matchup.

They asked Punk how he was going to prepare for Capcom Cup and he said "play more guilty gear".

Nobody on the roster has inspired me to really dig into the game.  I mostly am just playing casually at the moment.  It might be one of those games that gets  better as time goes .... like I wasn't really into the first couple seasons of SFV but the game is in a really good spot right now.

Nah, you're getting me mixed up with someone else.  I've been playing and enjoying this game since launch.  Just frustrated with the lack of character variety online at the moment.

Yeah, SFV is a bit depressing for me at the moment because the minute I turn on ranked I'm fighting the same 5 people over and over.....4 of which use M. Bison and play the exact same way every time.  When there's no character variety and  none of my fights are interesting/people aren't making adjustments what is the point?  Strive has a roster a third of the size of SFV and get more variety and better netcode playing that game.

I'm looking forward to Oro and Akira coming to hopefully refresh things a bit.

I was watching a Sol vs Millia match recently and it struck me that the difference in tiers in this game is probably related to ease of damage.  Millia has great mixups but has to work so much harder for damage that Sol gets from basic shit.  

I think you have to win 4 out of 5 matches.  Since you lost twice it was no bueno.

Makes sense.  He started out with Axl and now it looks like he's switched permanently ...Zato seems to fit his style perfectly.   A nice mixture of the lame play combined with some cheap stuff.
