Managed to scrub my way to floor 8. Probably just gonna play casual for awhile I need to get better at doing  Kara 6k stuff on the p2 side or I'm not going to get anywhere.

Finally played a may who I'm pretty sure was a Smurf account since they were only like level 5 and got absolutely shit on lol.  I- no,ky, and ram seem to be my hardest matchups right now

You playing Pot?  James Chen has the same problem doing Kara Pot buster on P2 side.  He was raging against Ultradavid's Axl yesterday lol.

I'm on pad right now and timing the upward diagonal and then doing the 236 is a pain in the ass mid-combo. Granted, my execution sucks, but you better be willing to grind training mode a lot if you want to pull it off consistently.

TK bomber is fun to do.  I was messing around with it in training mode.  I'm on stick and found the best method to do up+forward and then a fast quarter circle forward.  One of those things that I imagine would be piss easy on hitbox but is kind of a pain on other controllers.

Funny enough I’m having the opposite experience. I’ve played like an hour this past week and I honestly haven’t missed it all that much.

Idk what it is but so far every time I play I just feel like something is missing. The game is really good in so many aspects, but I haven’t found that thing that makes me excited to play. That one really cool combo or abusable tool.

Every character I’ve used so far feels so fair and it’s boring me.

Edit: I also straight up hate the gatlings. I swear every character has the same exact paths.

It seems the people that aren't really taking to the game are Xrd and +R players.  I'm thinking because they're missing some mechanic or gatling route from the older games.

On the other hand the people really digging the game are strangely SF players or people who are completely new to fighting games.   Maybe that was ASW's intent 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, Anji has some good shit but his buttons just can't get much started against other characters' buttons.  So a lot of Anji is trying to play chicken with spins, and you can only do as much of that as your opponent chooses to let you.

No joke,  I fought a decent Nago and couldn't even press a button without hearing COUNTER.  Wasn't even hitting heavy buttons.  After that I was twirling like the tasmanian devil trying to get in.

Honestly I pretty much stopped using Anji myself. I'm going through a character crisis right now. I thought I'd be having more fun with him I guess?

Ehh whatever. Maybe I'll be a Happy Chaos main if he ever drops. The dude pretty much carried story mode for me.

    Spoiler

Yeah, Happy Chaos looks sick.  I'm definitely going to give him a spin when he releases next month.  Honestly, would be willing to try most of that leaked DLC lineup other than Jack-O.

  6. Think I'm going to make the switch from Anji to Gio.  Anji just seems like he has some holes in his game, and his grounded normals aren't great for whatever reason.  The character just lacks sauce.  Gio is a bit more tilted to rushdown than I'm used to - but this game is unga and she seems great at it.  With Anji, I don't know wtf I'm supposed to be doing half the time while Gio has a clear game plan - get into the opponents face and abuse throws/plus frames.

I wonder how Strive will affect SFV going forward, and how much Strive can maintain as well. Have we already or will we see the peak in the next week or so, or will we see growth for awhile and a real revival of FGs? It's been a looooong time since FGs were legit a major genre. It feels like everything else has gotten more moments to shine in the sun.

I haven't jumped on Strive but I might in the next couple of months. I just want to see if people are still playing it in 3 months.

If you're interested in Strive, I'd jump in now while everyone is still learning.  The first two months are the honeymoon phase before the population begins to taper off.  Strive will hang around longer than most though because the netcode is godlike.
