The worst is when you get hard one and done gimmicked and they disappear into the ether with your points cuz they know they don't want that runback.

Not getting the runback is annoying but even worse is when they go a step further and pull the plug.  There's an entire army of Ken's that have now reached diamond and are ragequitting like mad.  At the moment about half my blacklist is Ken.

Not really. He has a really good understanding of people's "in-game body language". When you combine that with the fact that he also has an extensive amount of knowledge of characters options, Punk can really narrow down options.

He also has that thing that Daigo does (and a lot of top players do) they sort of pick a personality for you and then play against it. Long time ago Daigo said that he categorizes players. Brian F was talking about the same thing in one of his videos (I should've trusted this guy once he showed me who he was), Punk can sort of smell your fear in game.

Edit: Btw, if somebody reminds me, Infexious and Brian F have been putting out a lot of really good content lately.

Yeah, I mean most top players are able to do that.  Daigo plays Eita's Ken way differently than he plays Kenpi's.  One thing that I think makes Punk unique is his ability to pick up a completely new character and instantly dominate even high level players.

I'm subbed to both Infexious and Brian F.  Another one you should check out is Sajam's channel 😉.

Practices a lot and has good reactions.

    Also good at playing players.

    That's an understatement lol.

He ended up losing to Idom's Poison.  Still a great run.  Poison seems like a bad matchup for Rose.   Punk picked the custom combo trigger but it seems to me the teleport would be a better choice in that matchup.

I cant believe i just found out sfv has negative edge after all this time... I feel super stupid

As a S1 Necalli main I found out real quick about negative edge in SFV.  Might be the worst character in the game for doing it by accident.  They actually had to change up his command grab from punches to kicks because of overlapping inputs.

I still remember trying to do cr.mk, light stomp into super and getting medium stomp into blocked super instead.  It was even worse with the input delay and lag back then.

  5. Really liking Rose in SFV.  Besides sharing a lot of the same normals she plays a lot more technical than she did in 4.  Not going to main her or anything but excited to see what people come up with after some labbing.

Note to Capcom, custom combos are awesome!   Really hope they are using this season as a testing ground for SF6.

The stream was nice. The game is mad good and the graphics are spot on. You feel like you are playing the actual cartoon show.

A boss kicked my ass way too many times but i managed to beat it eventually. Will continue the stream tomorrow !

Great example of a game that does not need to be AAA bullshit and have insane budget to be fun. It's a game made for fans of the show, very well done devs.

    Quality stream background.

there were concept art of mvci which is more anime like arc sys but probably turned it down for the hyper realistic

It's like Capcom is moving away with anime style because of the other anime games and it wanted to standout among the crowd of anime fghter but choices ends up bad

    maxresdefault.jpg

the nearest would could thinking about anime style is TVC, TVC artstyled aged better than MVCI

unpopular opinion I like TVC artstyle than MVC3

When people say a game has no zoning they don’t mean it literally doesn’t exist. In fact it would be impossible to totally eliminate it as a gameplay element as long as you have characters use tools at different ranges.

What they (we) are really saying is that zoning do not exist as a viable strategy to win. All the characters you mention can zone, but the reason they’ve been historically performed well is because of their offensive options. Guile booms are obviously strong zoning tools but the reason he’s been top tier is because his booms were easy flow chart pressure tools and he has one of the best throw bait moves in the game. Sim can zone with his long buttons but nobody actually plays him that way...every Sim I’ve ever seen plays him hyper aggressively with gale pressure, teleports, and drills.

The characters most reliant on their zoning to win in this game imo are Sagat and Falke, and both of them are trash. Sagats zoning would actually be pretty strong if over half the roster couldn’t ignore shots with an EX bar or by pressing MPMK. Falke has long buttons but they’re all slow as shit with mediocre damage conversions.

I don't think zoners having good offensive options is a bad thing.  Guile, Menat, Poison and Sim all have good offensive options but (depending on the matchup) are usually playing keepaway for most of the round.   They might at some point activate V-trigger and go in.   That back and forth to me is much more fun to watch than a character that is only throwing fireballs and uppercutting and doing nothing else for the entire match.  At the same time, I've literally seen Wong and Infiltration win with Menat doing nothing but st.HP, st.MP and cr.HP.

I don't see how SF3 and SF4 were any different.  And I can pretty much guarantee people will be complaining about the same thing in SF6 because Capcom is never going to make a game with ST style zoning again.

  9. It's funny people were complaining about no zoning in SF4 too because of focus attack.  And no zoning in 3rd Strike because of parry.  This zoning argument comes up in every new SF iteration.

I'm not really seeing it in V.  The game is aggressive for sure but Poison, Menat and Guile have all been top tier or near top tier every season.  Sim has been underrated throughout and has been a viable option.  If all the zoners in the game sucked then maybe there would be a valid argument there.  There is definitely zoning in this game - but it seems people are just missing ST or something?  Those days of turtling up and chucking 10 thousand fireballs the entire round are most likely gone.

That's assuming they don't just toss MVCI's netcode out and start over from scrath for SF6, but using 5's netcode as baseline.

SF6 and Tekken 8 are currently at the top of my watchlist for "you guys better do it right"

if KOFXV's rollback implementation is shit I can at least forgive it somewhat due to being their first attempt at that netplay type, but hopefully they're receiving assistance from Code Mystics

I'll take shitty rollback over whatever it is SNK has been using for years.  Even if it's just SFV level rollback.   I love SNK games - I just want one to actually be playable online for once.

Am I the only person who had a nice pleasent time at SRK, no drama?  It was great for match up help and what's this normal for.

I think there was a big difference between old SRK (pre SF4) and the current SRK.  The old days seemed to be a lot more toxic and unwelcoming.  I joined around the time SF4 arrived so a lot of the elitist stuff was dying down and people just wanted to help each other out.  The character sections/matchup stuff was amazing.   I feel like SF4 era from 2009 - 2015 was definitely the golden era of SRK.
