The soundtrack to CV Judgement is almost enough to get me to try the game, but then I see the art style, gameplay, and general opinions then quickly back away.

That one is pretty goddamn annoying. I always wait in the one spot you can't be knocked off of and chuck axes through the first form. Second form goes down much faster because you can actually do damage without huge waits in between.  It's a truly stupid way to change that fight from the admittedly too easy Dracula in rondo.

So, having played through Bloodstained's classic mode a few more times, I'm really digging it. Super satisfying to do a quick playthrough without having to commit a big time sink, which is something I really enjoy about old school 2d games in general. Very finely tuned level design and stellar music. 
 
On a different note, which game do you think has the toughest final boss? I'm going to say Adventure Rebirth off the top of my head, probably followed by the 3rd form of Dracula in the PSP Rondo remake.

Playing Bloodlines again, I'm always struck as to how goddamn weird the game is. As usual, I hate the gargoyle boss. It goes down easy if you get the rhythm just right, but if you're off the slightest bit the stupid rotating tower will make you eat it. I really don't care for the France stage either. 

I need the Cyber-Shadow soundtrack injected into my veins. It it 
 

 
Speaking of Cyber-Shadow, I got wall sliding. We Mega Man X now!

Got to be better than the original in the gameplay department.

The game gets way more fun when you start aquiring skills and getting to change classes. Works out kind of like the job system in FFT, but with arcade-y combat. Also, I personally find the archer and archer adjacent classes to be the most fun.

Yes was Arcade. He got me in Phase 2. Crushed me up against the side wall as he likes to do.
 
If have probably got it if I hadn't let the previous boss drop right down on my fucking face when he decided the bounce. I knew it was coming, I knew he does it...still deer in the headlights his ads she. He dropped. Arrrrrg!!!!!

maaaaaaan he better not be. She's pretty hot, he's very not, and she's a legit fun person. He fucking sucks. 
 
He's one of those dudes who latched so hard on the "nerd" persona that he's more concerned about appearing to be into nerdy shit than actually being into nerdy shit. The type of guy to wear a doctor who shirt but has maybe seen like 2 episodes. 
 
He's the same way with working out and lifting weights. He posts pictures of him in dark rooms with heavy shadows while flexing as hard as he can to make it look like he's shredded. 
 
Also, the dude has a curly mustache and a fucking undercut circa 2013. I don't like to rag on peoples looks, but it's so fucking try-hard that it drives me crazy.

They got me again. I own this one digital. Best Buy has Panzer Dragoon as well...probably double dio there as well...*sigh*

Blazing Chrome is really good. Lots of great pseudo retro releases in recent years- that one, Fight N Rage, Hyper Light Drifter, Axiom Verge, Curse of the Moon (both of them), and Shovel Knight are a few that come to mind.
