  1. I'm two-thirds through my Berserk re-read. About another sixth or so and then I think the updates got really slow. It's honestly still so great. But after I finish this I kind of wonder what's really next for that. I doubt it will be continued. I doubt I'll really want to re-read it again, especially with it being unfinished. I'd like to see it all animated, this time with everything in high quality. The previous animes I remember watching skimped out on a lot of the gore and imagery that really make Berserk what it is. Berserk anime does too many things too quickly, like it's horror and shock. But what really makes it stick is when you just study the images and let them permeate. Don't camera cut and jump around or play a loud sound effect to induce horror. That is not what Berserk is. The gore and the grotesqueness is there for a reason, it's there to make you think, to wonder. Is it possible to put that in anime form? Would people complain too much? Would it translate? I do wonder.

  2. If the rest of the world is so smart why can't they just do the conversions? Metric is used for science and tech all the time, and us Americans have no issues with that. Yet the low IQ foreigners can't do simple conversions and function with two different systems? Why brag about being so unintelligent? Nerds always brag how smart they are but then show how limited they are.

  3. New male contraceptive 'testicle bath' zaps sperm (and feels like a warm bath) (the-sun.com)

I think I've been seeing claims of male contraceptives since way back on SRK, early 2000s. And yet none really ever come to market. But honestly even without a contraceptive, it's actually hard for a woman to get pregnant. Most days are safe days and even the risky days, even if you pump said girl full every day, the odds are still pretty low. People act like one nut is a guaranteed pregnancy but that just really is not true. Especially based on age. It's really rather difficult and a limited time.

Yeah I’m all about eating the rich and sending all politicians to the guillotine, but that shit doesn’t not apply to fucking content creators on the internet lmao.

In fact targeting them probably just benefits the actual uber wealthy by focusing attention away from them 🤦🏽‍♂️

At least they stopped bombing little brown children to divert people's attention I guess. Well, they still do that anyway, but the media isn't making that a patriotic thing to divert attention.

Uh? 90% of black shows got white producers/ white show runners... That's just Hollywood.  Unless you got Tyler perry money this is just how the industry works.

I could honestly use any race for that example... Even if it's an Asian comedian who had a big platform on Netflix they would still catch flack if it was primarily about black people or gay people.

I guess you're counting Jewish as white. Lots of Jewish producers and showrunners.

SRK forums are apparently live again (I just logged in). No offense to MrBee, but.... thoughts everyone?

General Discussion is probably going to be gone, and the forums will be compressed.

They should put that thing out if its misery. They already sold Evo. Why bother at all anymore? Nobody posts there and they haven't for some time. FGC is puny but it's probably mostly on r/kappa and eventhubs, and otherwise scattered across discord servers and sites like this one (this is the only one I know or care to be on though).

  7. As a regular person you have no control over any of it so it's not generally worth worrying about. That's why a lot of people stop voting and stop trying in general. How many times did they ignore public will and vocal campaigns against SOPA and repealing Net Neutrality? Those fuckers just keep shoving it through until eventually they were able to. Meanwhile the rest of the time both parties do this song and dance on how they want to help people but the other side is blocking them, and drag their feet on anything beneficial. That's just how stuff works.

The Panama and Pandora papers just don't even really matter. People don't care. Words don't get things done unless you own the guns pointed at everyone else's heads.

^ Having been in long term relationships with white women I can assure that this was the proper choice because no one can make you suffer like they can.

Sounds like what someone that's never been with Latin women would say.

Although tbph, it's all women, of every race. They're all quite capable of causing misery in their own unique ways. And in the same ways too. They're just good at it.

Yeah we talked about it in another thread. I'll say what I did there. Disney had no case. WB renegotiated the compensation of their actors before doing their HBO Max releases. They got out ahead of the issue. Disney not only didn't head this off at the pass, they made it worse by trying to smear one of the biggest talents in Hollywood. They knew they were wrong. How they released Shang Chi and them making deals with other talents like Emma Stone showed they knew this. Why they didn't use renegotiate behind the scenes, like Scarlett wanted in the first place, is beyond me.

lol it's America though. They know the public will side with billionaires/mega corps every time. And they're right.

    Living, baby!

Honestly, I just got big thighs that rub, so I get crotch blowouts in levi's more often than not.

    I walk a ton, I'm at least 10,000 steps a day.

I used to have that problem when I would squat heavy and really built up my legs and butt (butt is probably more from lunges and good mornings, regardless, it still got too big and hard). The Levi's or whatever Athletic jeans helped a bit. But nothing really fits too well. Except pajamas and workout shorts.

You ever notice how in really old fiction and pictures the men are usually in tights and skirts? I wonder if that's because since historically most men had to labor that was just found to be the most ideal clothing for that. I have a huge bone to pick with Western clothing in general. I've worn clothing of different cultures and they are all so, so, so much more comfortable. Practically everyone else wears robes and loose fitting clothing that you can really move around in, sleep in, do practically everything in.

Women typically have bigger butts and hips so skirts are more practical even now and many athletic women ironically tend to prefer those in regular wear and skimpier stuff for athletic wear.

    Fast fashion is wack.

People look at me like I'm insane when I tell them that my jeans cost me $200, but I look at it like this:

1.) I bought the jeans over 3 years ago and they're the only pair of jeans that I have

2.) I wear them all the time, and since they were raw unwashed denim when I got them, they've worn and faded into some amazing looking jeans

3.) the company will repair them FOR FREE as long as it isn't catastrophic damage.

When you consider that a pair of Levi's on sale are going for $40 and would last me about 2-3 months if I wore them the same way, I've saved hundreds of dollars on pants over the last three years.

What exactly are you doing with your jeans? I have Levi's going back some 20 years.

New name? A lot of re-releases and games in general plummeted as soon as they weren't the hot shit of the month. It happened with +R and Strive and now it's happening with Lumina as we speak.

    These hoes ain't loyal.

People generally only like playing the games they're really good in. I know a bunch of people that still play +r and 3s and other older games, but they're always somewhere in the top 10-20 of online players, and usually have a tournament background in said game offline.

For everyone else yeah it's usually a month, maybe three or so months and then they move on.

Fightcade is literally free but people don't want to play on it. It's also had the best rollback implementation online for some time, albeit I do think it slipped a bit earlier this year and don't know if it recovered. Even slipped though it's still better than pretty much any other online. Yet you just won't see people playing anything outside of some people for 3s.

Most people prefer talking about fighting games, especially how they're great at them and others are bad at them, than actually playing.

Well looks like Cali decided to thrown down the gauntlet. Either covid vaccine or no school.

    https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2021-10-01/newsom-sets-covid-vaccine-mandate-across-california-schools

I don't know if that's a blue state requirement or what, but I've always had to be vaccinated for school. Also military, they vaccinate everyone if you're not already vaccinated early on.

Maybe this anti-vaxx thing is for red states only because really it's practically impossible to grow up without getting vaccinated. And for good reason, those diseases were far more brutal than even COVID is. Smallpox, polio, measles, mumps and the list goes on. Even stuff like chicken pox, they finally made a vaccine for that and saved so much suffering and long term risk that way. If you look at pictures or realistic art from way back, the vast majority of people had scarring all over their faces and bodies from surviving this brutal stuff.

  14. What I always found odd is that a lot of people are aggressive dicks, and when other people are even trying to be diplomatic and diffuse stuff, they pretty much spit in their faces and just up the aggression. Then when people don't like them they surprised pikachu face and legit seem unable to handle that. A lot of times the assholes band together and kind of emotionally support each other, but all that does is isolate them into a small group that most people want nothing to do with. Then they usually of course start attacking each other, while running back to each other for said emotional support because nobody else wants anything to do with them.

It's just such an interesting dynamic I guess. It used to annoy me so damn much growing up, because of course as Schopenhauer says scoundrels are the most sociable. It takes time to see and understand it's not worth engaging and the better social circles are all very exclusionary and hidden. Whatever our mainstream culture is, it's fairly toxic and kind of ropes in what is really a lower, less desirable class of people. What you'd think is normal behavior just keeping up with social media or mainstream media in general, none of it is acceptable in "polite society". But there is this big cognitive dissonance about that, and it feels intentionally done to keep the majority in this type of ignorant and lesser state. Or perhaps it's not even truly intentional, and it's human nature, since Plato's Cave allegory pretty much describes it too.

ha, so glad I didn't have to deal with or see any of that foolishness in my college days.  We were too busy having this thing called "fun and good times" in between actual classwork stuff.  At least for many of my generation... undergrad college years was about as awesome as it's shown to be in those movies of the 70s and 80s.  "Zany, raunchy hijinks!"  ensue pretty much from day 1 of freshman year.  I feel sorry for the current generation of college students.  Those guys and girls are cursed to endure a clearly inferior experience, imo.... it looks like something most are probably just wanting to finish up and get out of there asap.  That's a shame, really.

Probably today you'd get canceled for your foot fetish, or probably get caught going into Target with a hidden camera to get upskirt pictures/videos. And that's just the stuff I remember from you off the top of my head, I'm sure there was a lot more I forgot and a lot more you never posted about back then...

‘I’m Not Racist, I’m Just Studying:’ Video Shows White Students Forced Out of ASU ‘Multicultural Center’

A video appearing to show students harassing two white students in Arizona State University’s “multicultural center” has gone viral on social media. In the video, students off-camera appear to take offense to a laptop sticker reading, “Police Lives Matter,” before demanding the white students leave the multicultural center, proclaiming, “white is not a culture.”

“I’m not racist, I’m just studying,” one of the white students replied.

“You are racist, your sticker is racist — you can choose to be a police, I didn’t choose to be black,” the student argues. “You can choose to be a cop, you can choose to kill people with a badge, and you’re protecting that shit, which means that you’re racist.”

From there, the white student says that he is sorry, adding, “I wasn’t trying to offend you guys.”

“I know, but this offends us automatically, because these people kill people like me,” one student claims. “So you’re promoting our murderers.”

Then, the white student, who appears frustrated at this point, stands up and proclaims: “I pay the same fucking tuition as you! I’m working 60 hours a week while going to school, because my parents don’t just give me money!”

If you click on that account, there's a pinned video of Joe Rogan talking about how great it is. You might know Joe Rogan as the anti-vaxxer that got COVID and claims to have cured it with ivermectin.
