I think my favorite thing I heard from Smashers recently is that ‘Nintendo could kill me and people would defend them’ and ‘They are literally against free exposure and publicity by canceling the Melee tournament.’
 
Publicity for Nintendo? Exposure for an almost 20 year old game they don’t even sell anymore? Okay.

They digged their own grave when they decided to use emulators, on a nintendo sponsored event of all places, it is stupid.
Common sense tells you is a bad idea.
Getting mad that they are forcing their legal right while ignoring the stupidity that lead to it is just dumb

The problem is that they are using emulators.
And like HAwkingbird said, is a nintendo sponsored event.
They are in their right to defend their intellectual property in this case.
 
Notice how other tournaments use the actual hardware fr their old games, be like the Sailor Moon tournaments, or the mistery games tournaments.
Using emulation is a a gray area that can open this kind of problems, and specially with nintendo, which is heavy against emulation.

The sad reality is that many people dont really care about alternatives outside DC and Marvel, with the ocassional outliers like Image, Valiant, etc 😕

Melee people are acting like a cult at this point.

From what I can tell, the Vampire Savior community is now less than a smoldering wreck thanks to constant beefs dividing the community.
 
Skullgirls just seems to take L after L between the Mike Z drama and the composer going VIVA PRESIDENTE TRUMP after he already lost the election even though there should be no stake for that composer in that particular situation.  

I wouldnt deny that GG requires some effort to learn, but is not near as people meme it.
Specially when the same people dont have a problem learning a game like mvc for example that has almost the same exact type of hurdles.
 
And yeah, it would be nice to have an editorial front page.
Maybe it would motivate me to finish the what is depth article i started years ago we talked about, lol.
It would be an interesting topic now that we have games with autocombos.

Holy crap, the amount of videos springing up over this Melee Slippi thing are nuts. "Nintendo has attacked the Smash community." Or "Nintendo Hates You..." How is the Melee community gonna play the victim card when they did this to themselves? Nintendo asked them to stop, the kept on and here we are. The entitlement coming from the Melee camp is absurd. 

That's more of a Marvel and DC thing. You can pick up an indie comic and read a dope story with interesting characters a priori. If you want a trad superhero shared universe with minimal reboots you can dive into the world of Valiant comics. There's lots of great comics out there not being written by the big two.

That is something that my brother and i have talked about when it comes to certain christian groups.
There is this prevalent way of speak where they minimize you, where they insists on words like, you are nothing without god/christ, your lay on his feet, etc, etc.
Diminishing your value as a person, and that you only have value as part of the collective.
 
Is specially prevalent on the protestant side, which funny enough, at least here in my country, tends to be the more fanatiq when it comes to how they try to enforce their povs on everyone else.
 
 

Just saw on the news that Disney is dodging on paying royalties to someone who wrote books for the eu back in the day, alledgily saying that when they bought the franchise, they didnt bought the obligations 🤣

They're probably adding it to the emulated arcade version.  There is no native PC port.
