Tried to punish heavy Blanka Ball with Manon's Level 1. She stops dead in her tracks literally 1 pixel in front of him, it felt like Capcom was just trolling me.

Went to training mode and unless I'm missing something the only way to punish that move with her is perfect parry into QFB LK which does almost no damage. I think Ono's ghost is still lingering in Capcom HQ.

According to jmcroft's video the only way to punish heavy Blanka Ball - outside of perfect parry, is Guile's level 1 super.  Most characters can do nothing about it on block.  The other options are interrupting with an invincible move or jump back cross up.

  2. Completed all of Jamie's and Lily's trials. They feel harder than V but easier than 4 - which is kind of what I was expecting. Think I'll do Cammy and Manon's as well just to see if I really take to one of them.

Honestly can't see myself playing anyone else other than Jamie though - at least until A.K.I arrives. Even spent all my drive tickets on colours 3-9. There's no going back after that lol.

Also, JP is fucking absurd. I really like how each of his fireballs clearly has a purpose. He can't set up a void and then throw the command grab fireball, that's important to remember in that matchup.

I felt the level of challenge was just right anyway, and I actually got my ass handled to me by a couple Silver players, especially a JP one who I had no idea whatsoever how to handle his zoning.

Dude got the Zappa thing where he can do overhead, low, mid and command grab from full screen, what the fuck is this Guilty Gear shit? He's going to be an absolute noob killer and I'm glad he's on the harder level of skill because otherwise he would have already committed a few war crimes on unsuspecting casuals.

JP out here getting everyone.  Just happened to me, got bodied in a set by a JP player.  Jamie is never allowed to take a drink unless it's baked into a combo ender.  This character is downright degenerate.

I thought I was the only one who absolutely hated that “motion”. It’s rare for me to say something like this but that shit should stay in Mortal Kombat. Hated it there and I hate it here.

The double down motion is awful for some reason.  It's the motion for Jamie's drink and I mess it up way more often than I should.  I'd rather do a double shoryuken.

If you ever see me full screen punching the air for no reason, that's what's happening 😅

It's not the same as a season pass. A season pass is what you buy to get access to dlc later on.

A battle pass is something where you pay for content that you have to unlock as you go within a certain timeframe. Fortnite does this. (A free game.)

I have nothing really against battle passes but I think it's kinda dumb to have paid content you need to unlock in a game that costs full retail.

Hmm.. is long as it's not characters I don't really have a problem with this.  If there's a costume I really like I'll buy it anyway.

I'm more concerned with this Denuvo thing affecting the PC version.  I hope it's a non-issue but I've never played a game with Denuvo...

Unless I completely missed it they haven't specified how costumes are unlocked and how they are tied into DLC, have they? My guess is this means you have to buy pretty much all of them and the currencies you earn through challenges (and presumably in WT) are only for Avatar accessories. Would love to be proven wrong though.

According to this article https://www.eventhubs.com/news/2023/may/24/sf6-fighter-coins-dlc-chipotle/ there's Fighter Coins in game that can be exchanged for costumes and characters.  I have no idea how they're earned besides this chipotle promotion though.

its linked to the same button, not separate instances, and its so I don't hurt my hands like on a normal hitbox layout. I use rightside jump 95% of the time anyways, I just like having the option.

Its also cheating explicitly allowed at the CPT despite the rules, because I have already seen more than 1 ergobox at a CPT event.

You're in Ontario right? How did you go about finding a hitbox that isn't insanely priced?

  8. I'm lukewarm on the SF6 roster.  On the one hand the new characters seem awesome, which is great and kind of its savings grace. However.....having 0 Alpha and 3rd Strike characters for not only the launch roster but for the entire first season of DLC stinks.  Especially when we're only getting 4 characters for an entire year.  I don't want to have to wait 3-4 years down the road just to play my favourite characters.
