Unless I completely missed it they haven't specified how costumes are unlocked and how they are tied into DLC, have they? My guess is this means you have to buy pretty much all of them and the currencies you earn through challenges (and presumably in WT) are only for Avatar accessories. Would love to be proven wrong though.

According to this article https://www.eventhubs.com/news/2023/may/24/sf6-fighter-coins-dlc-chipotle/ there's Fighter Coins in game that can be exchanged for costumes and characters.  I have no idea how they're earned besides this chipotle promotion though.

its linked to the same button, not separate instances, and its so I don't hurt my hands like on a normal hitbox layout. I use rightside jump 95% of the time anyways, I just like having the option.

Its also cheating explicitly allowed at the CPT despite the rules, because I have already seen more than 1 ergobox at a CPT event.

You're in Ontario right? How did you go about finding a hitbox that isn't insanely priced?

  3. I'm lukewarm on the SF6 roster.  On the one hand the new characters seem awesome, which is great and kind of its savings grace. However.....having 0 Alpha and 3rd Strike characters for not only the launch roster but for the entire first season of DLC stinks.  Especially when we're only getting 4 characters for an entire year.  I don't want to have to wait 3-4 years down the road just to play my favourite characters.

Nah i think it's cool since you gain temporary access to his best moves. So it balances off because then it would be insanely busted if the levels stayed at 4. The move i don't understand is the Drink option at the end of Ransui Haze. I heard somewhere it raises his Super Level but i can't confirm it anywhere.

I'm not saying the level should stay at 4. I'm saying his drink levels should return to what they were before he activated, since he already earned those drink levels.

As for Ransui Haze, is that the target combo that unlocks at level 4?  I never used that once and I never saw any streamer use it either.  Will definitely have to experiment with it once the game comes out.   I am curious if it's worth using - his other options at level 4 seem insane already.

What mixups can he do? Didn't get to play against Jamie very much.

If he hits with the palm he can do the super and continue his combo afterwards. If it's blocked he's plus at drink level 4 and has a lot of options.

The only thing I don't like about his level 2 is that after the timer ends he goes back to 0 drink levels regardless of the level he was at prior.

I could barely find anything useful for alpha counter. Maybe I need more time with the game.

I think there's going to be specific situations where alpha counter is useful. Jamie can do random palm into his install super and force a mixup. Alpha counter can be useful there to get him off you.

Those situations are probably going to be rare but at least Drive Reversal is not entirely useless.

Is Jamie's dp kind of bad or am I doing it at the wrong timing?

There are times where I try to dp and it gets stuffed by attacks  to the point where I just block jump ins instead of trying to dp anti airs.

I think it might be a little on the slow side.  I've been using light kick DP for that reason, maybe EX is faster but I haven't tried that yet.

I hate to sound like a bandwagoner but I gotta say…the music and animations are by far my biggest complaints with the game.

The music just doesn’t suit the fighting, and some of the worse animations are borderline NRS tier.

I'm having enough fun at the moment that I don't care too much about the animations.  I'm guessing enough people will probably complain on twitter, and Capcom is usually pretty receptive to criticism so I could see an improvement for DLC characters down the road.

And there will be a jukebox with all the classic music on release so no worries there.

Professional animator roasting SF6's GAMEPLAY animations. Interesting take. I love SFV animation, think it's top tier, but I really didn't see much of an issue with the ones in SF6. The guy's points are hard to argue with though.

I didn't watch this and maybe he's right about SF6 animations going downhill from earlier games like 3rd Strike but IMO SF6 animations look fine.  Comparing the game to others it animates much better than MK, KOF and Tekken.  I also find it kind of funny that this guy has #PlayFEXL when that game is known for having some of the worst animations out there.

Unrelated, but I wanted to let you guys know that tomorrow I'm starting a career in pro tennis. I've heard that the rules have changed and that only two sets will be played at major tournaments, so as the worst player in the lineup, I will now be able to consistently beat Djokovic & Co. now.

The tennis masters events which are a level below the grand slams are best 2 out of 3 sets and even still a top 10 player wins 90% of the time.  I think it's similar with SF, 2 out of 3 has never made bad players win, that idea is so stupid.  The only time I want to sit through 3 of 5 is if we're talking top 8 of a high quality CPT event.
