I don't really like a lot of SFV newcomers

We got Ed, Luke, and Rashid back already

Zeku function is covered by Kim

Laura function is covered by Manon

Abigail can burn in hell and I don't even want to imagine how that monstrosity would look in re engine

Lucia was more of a fanservice pick for final fight nostalgia

    Falke is wack

FANG is replaced by Aki now

Menat would  be welcome but they'll probably space away the feet waifus by a few seasons

Kolin is kinda wack but maybe she can be considerably redesigned for 6

Akira is a guest and I'd like for more SF characters to return first

So that just leaves us with G as the wildcard

Yeah I don't really agree with a lot of this.

Zeku is a stance character. He's not covered by Kim. If anything Kim makes Guy less likely.

Laura and Manon don't play anything a like. This reminds of the Abel and Alex nonsense from SFIV.

Lucia was not a "fan service" pick. Most people didn't even know who she was. If they wanted a fanservice pick, they'd have used Maki.

Falke was poorly executed but IF she came back she wouldn't be the same character. Like Ed she'd get an overhaul due to Modern Controls taking her gimmick.

Kolin - Not going to stand Ice Queen slander. With the less restrictive juggle system of SF6 and not having all of her cool shit locked behind V-Trigger, it would be fun see Kawano and Nephew ice skate all over people, let alone play her myself.

I have one ready, but waiting to get better costume items (and maybe better hair options)

On  moveset side i think we are at very good point (possibly one of the best), mine would be

    Akuma's basic moveset

    Ryu hadoken and denjin charge

Chun's kikoken to mimic one-hands gohados

    Kimberly vertical tastu

Akuma's Demon Raid (assuming have srk motion)

    Ryu air tatsu

Cammy air divekick (if is qcf i don't remember)

Ryu all 3 supers (wich feel very Gouken-like)

Feel should have found way to sneak in also Jamie's dash palm special to wink at Senkugoshoa, but for shit motion overlap of commands in SF6 avatar system make it be at clash with Kim's vertical tatsu wich replicate lot Gouken's

At that point Akuma basic moveset having lot of palm strikes helps cut Jaime's special, but would have preferred keep both and motion classic system was'nt crap forcing non-existent overlapping just to fit modern bullshit lol

Cammy's Dive Kick is QCB+K. So you'd have to use Akuma's base set to have an Air Tatsu and a dive kick.

    Pissed at this

because -without fire- shit would have looked so cool on Ryu and fitting his old SFV badassery, instead i got that hashogeki crap

I'm going to love steal that and some other stuff on my Makoto though, she's going to shape up well 😄

Oh my Gouka is going to eat good with this update. That Zanku Hadoken, Palm Strike, and Palm Strike Level 2 are mine. Hell I'm probably going to just ape his base move set because that would give me the Dive Kick as a command normal. Hmm....wonder if I'd be able to make a Gouken now?

  4. So am I , the only one waiting for the @EvilCanadianbreak down video of Akuma? There was so many things that dropped for a multitude of fighitng games at Evo Japan. I can't imagine what kind of workload that's created for him.

Edit: Our boy came through withe breakdown. Hopefully getting some sleep now.

  5. The Akuma blog post is up

For anyone that watched Street Fighter Assasin's Fist. Akuma's level two is essentially what Goutetsu hits him during their fight. A devastating palm strike that sends a surge of ki through his opponents torso. Basically an SnH verison of Gouken's Senkugoshoha (Palm Strike).

Akuma trailer is amazing, holy shit.

Also apparently Mena put hands on everybody? Goddamn.

Mena is an exceptional player. I always felt he never got the respect he was due. Hopefuly that's changing now.

Edit: Akuma Blog Post is up.

Apparently Playstation is offering refunds for Stellar Blade if you claim false advertising which is even more funny to me.

I'm surprised by this. Sony are typically asshats about refunds on PSN. Check that, they are assholes about this type of thing in general. I still remember the PS2 laser debacle. They refused to admit fault, got hit with a class action lawsuit, settled with no admission of guilt, and wouldn't fix your PS2 for free if it had been opened up already. Like people just sat around for years saying "let me see how this plays out".

I mean look, them censoring the game post launch is bullshit, but it damn good game and I'm not refunding it over it.  And lets be honest here, there is little to play on my PS5 that isn't on PC already. Just this and Rebirth. I've already played my Switch more this year, than I did my PS5 all of last year. If Shift Up is going to drop polished single player content that only takes of 30GB of space your hard drive, then I'm going to want this game to be successful. Lord knows the stalwarts of the industry have been shoveling out bloated crap with $70 point of entry that often isn't the whole game and even if you buy that $100 plus deluxe addition, you still got micro-transactions to deal with.

TLDR: It's not worth stifling a promising up and coming developer over Sony's puritan nonsense. The more successful they are, the more independent they'll be. It's nice to play a "AAA" release that isn't well over 100 gigs, optimized as hell, and not full of micro-transactions.

the GAWD Marco is confirmed. This is literally all I ever wanted for City of the Wolves. I'd like to see Akuma topping this!

edit: I also hope this means they're keeping his name Marco for all versions of the game. I know his name was changed to uhhh, Kushnood Butt for some reason in the localization, I just think M A R C O R O D R I G U E Z sounds a million times cooler

SNK was worried about getting sued by Ricco Rodriquez. A Brazilian Heavyweight MMA fighter. There wasn't a shared likeness like M.Bison/Balrog, so I don't understand whey they thought they'd be sued.

I wouldn't be surprised if the blood in Stellar Blade has more to do with performance then censorship. The game runs better now then the Demo did.

I believe there is also a toggle for it in the options menu or something. I remember something like that mentioned during the Digital Foundry tech review.

The Hard R thing is more of just cultural sensitivity and not wanting to step on toes in one of the worlds biggest markets.

Doesn't really seem like anything in the games really been censored...

Based on the Digital Foundry Demo and Final Game tests. That's not the case. Shift Up, to their credit, had just produced at well optimized game. Which more impressive because it's their first big release. I mean the Balanced Mode is better than the 60fps modes in most games. It looks to be doing well from a sales standpoint. Which is a good thing because that will allow them to self publish. Hopefully this game gets a PC release. Given how well it runs on PS5. 4K 60 won't be an issue for a mid level PC gamer. And at the high end 120+fps and 4K should be a thing.

This tweet sums up my thoughts. If Balder's Gate 3 can allow Bear Sex, then who are we censoring skimpy costumes for?

Cyberpunk 2077 is on PS5. Their is full nudity in that game. Even male nudity, which typically gets censored harder in media overall not just games. So, Sony censoring Eve's outfits is the height of hypocrisy. Meredith Stout leaves a giant dildo behind after screwing you at the No Tell Motel. I'm about consistency. There is none here. They've also seemed to censor the gore. When I beat the first boss during the demo, Eve was covered in blood. Now there is barely any blood on her. In BG3, your party is continually covered in blood. So much so that it actually annoyed me. Going back to Cyberpunk you can let blow people apart in that game. It seems like Sony pulled a bait and switch on Shift Up and consumers. They let them market the game as "Uncensored in All Regions" then dropped a day 1 patch that censors content in the game. Which is technically false advertising. Again this is why "an all digital future" is terrible idea.

Thirty years ago if you told me that I'd have to buy Nintendo versions of consoles games to the uncensored experience I would have laughed. Then the rating system hit and Nintendo has left third parties alone. If the rating system allows it, they allow it. Sony has gone the other direction. Again, you have NO sense of what their rationale is. I got DMCV on PC so I almost forgot about the ridiculous lens flare Sony added to it. When you save Trish and Lady their nudity was partially masked by a blinding lens flare that had no light source. Meanwhile Cyberpunk 2077 and Baldur's Gate 3 have full nudity. Unless I've missed something. The only consistent thing I've seen is that Sony only censors stuff in games from an Asian developer. They seem to let Western developers slide.

Sony's policies just push me further away from buying their platform in the future. I'm already on the fence about the PS6. With Sony going MS and dropping their exclusives on PC. There is minimal reason for me to buy their platform. Right now the timed exclusivity gives the PS5 some value, but if I can't trust Sony to let the developers release their games as is. Then that means nothing.

It's honestly pretty disappointing to me that imagination seems to have been the biggest casualty of the Internet age. Video games give us the opportunity to enter worlds nothing like our own or that transcend ours in a lot of ways and step into the shoes of characters that aren't like us, and yet all some people can do is ask why these worlds aren't more like the real world.

I feel that it is a direct result of people dividing up into their own online echo chambers. Group think does not spark the imagination.

the various live-streams of Stellar Blade have already begun, of course

I woke up at 3am this morning for some reason, my buddy pinged me on Discord. He'd preordered Stellar Blade but never played the demo. He really liked it so far, I would played the game myslef but I had to get back to bed. Had to be in at 7am today.

I'm missing the context behind this one.

I don't know what Grummz is on with this one. Classic case of losing the plot IMO. This isn't some licensed property altered by SBI. This is an original game from Abubakar Salim. It doesn't matter if SBI is involved or not. It's his game, his idea, his concept. He can do what he wants with it.
