FA is the chargeable strike with a hit of armor, unblockable when fully charged. It costs two bars but cancels pretty much any move in the game.
The charge up itself can then be Cancelled by a Dash, fadc, either forward or backwards dash.
That helps! Thanks!

Even Drive Rush seems to evoke FADC's, while Drive Impact is like a Level 3 Focus Attack.
Part of my issue with SF6’s drives mechanics may be that I never played SF4. I have no idea what an FADC or Focus Attack is (I actually thought they were the same thing).
I’ll have to look up some videos this weekend when I have a few mins

From a naming stand point, it's really not that dissimilar from the V System in SFV. V-Skill, V-Trigger, V-Reversal, V-Shift. Now we have Drive Impact, Drive Parry, Over Drive, Drive Rush, and Drive Reversal. Parry's and Over Drive will likely be referred to as Parry's and EX Moves.
I don’t really mean the naming, just understanding what’s happening. I swear whenever a drive something or another happens, I take a guess how it’s going to go and I’m often wrong. Idk if I’m seeing a couple different drive moves and mixing them up with each other (so that I get mixed up what the outcome should be) or what’s going on, but I never seem to guess the right outcome and I always get confused and wonder why. From a spectator standpoint, it’s certainly ruining the action for me.
I haven’t watched any matches since you explained it though, so maybe that’ll help.

I know the question was answered but this is so far my only real complaint with what I’ve seen of the game. I’m sure it’ll be much more clear when I can get my hands on the game and play myself. But watching these clips when it comes to the universal drive mechanics I usually have no idea what I’m looking at. All the mechanics all being named “Drive xyz” is also a bit confusing for me.
Yeah, tbh, it’s a slight concern I have for the casual spectators who are just watching to watch a good fight. Everytime one of these situations come up, I get confused and go cross-eyed

Essentially the second Drive Rush always wins. So you don't want to throw them out in a situation were your opponent can retaliate with one of their own. In the rare even that both Drive Rushes land on the same frame, there is Drive Clash that resets both players back to neutral.
Nice! Thank you Darc! 👍

Anyone know of a good video that explains the Drive Rush and Impact mechanics?
Every clip of the game I see, I get lost when (I’m assuming) these appear... I see one character do some slow down rush/attack thing (surrounded by a colourful blob thing), and then often, the other player reacts with a different (or maybe same?) colourful blob thing and it either stuffs the first attack or the first attack stuffs the second attack. I literally have no idea what’s happening during these sequences.

Right now things that interest me before release:
1- Netcode Confirmation2- JP Reveal
3- Are we getting Arcade Mode? Are we getting a cinematic story mode or is World Tour the new story mode?
4- What is the business model being used for SF6? Is it the same as SF5 with a single purchase and microtransactions being purely cosmetic (no P2W) ?
5- When/how will they announce the first season and how will they sell it?
I hope it does have an arcade mode, but I’d hope that the AI doesn’t have any easy exploits (like jump-ins or sweeps in SFV), and that they track high scores. I always love a fun arcade mode that you can replay to try and beat your best score if you aren’t in the mood for labbing or playing online.
also, regarding the business model, I can’t remember which video I saw it in, but it seems like you need some in-game currency to buy some gear (possibly only for your battle hub/world tour avatar, but it could also be for alt costumes for the main cast as well, who knows). I’d imagine you could earn this in-game, but I’d also assume you can purchase it with real money. But yeah, I want to see more details on this.

Also, I watched some of those character overviews this morning and the combat looks really good. Drive Rush (I think it’s called, whatever the armor rush-in attack) seems to be pretty strong, but if everyone has it and it’s not free, then maybe it’ll be okay.
I do love how strong the characters seem off the bat, and seeing Dhalsim doing a jump back air fireball made me happy. Ibuki when?

Was pleasantly surprised with how polished that World Tour intro was. That’s going to be a great mode for new/casual players.
the character creation looks good too. one of my favourite thing to do in Souls game was to make a cool looking character. I hope you can make multiples, but with how baked they are into the WT mode, perhaps not.
No way I’m making a digital version of myself though. Nothing cool about a mildly out of shape 40-year old white dude in real life. Might as well make a cool character in the game.

I don't want canned Yipes. I don't want hearing his voice to become unspecial in any way.
Great point! I’d almost take it back, but would still like him in it for his own sake/benefit, but yeah, I’d probably mute it as well lol

I really hope Yipes get a spot. He’d be the only commentator I could see me keeping on, at least for any length of time.

Street Fighter 6 Lounge: The FGC has a crack problem.

Tbh, I have the opposite problem. SF6 has me so hype that I want to grind out SFV again and see if I can climb from Gold up to Plat or Diamond before SF6.
I also have like 7-8 other FGs I want to play though, but I don’t need to grind them out as much, so I’m thinking about playing SFV like every other day, and then in between, play another one of the 7-8 games I want to play just to keep my chops up. Eventually, I’m sure I’ll hit a point where I’ll only want to play like 3-4 games total, but right now, I’m eating a little too good.
