So no it's not stupid. It's a real.word that describes reql situations lol. I liked Avatar and have found most of the people who shit on it do so by dunking on the actual real science in the movie they dont know anything about, or by saying it's just Dances with Wolves in blue paint and I can easily boil your favorite story down to its tropes and basic narrative points to, that isn't hard. I'd you haven't met anyone who liked those movies it's because you're purposefully ignoring the people who liked them. They made billions of dollars and got lots of praise, both of them. If you didn't like them that's fine, but stop trying to fool yourself into believeing that everyone else hated them to. They didn't. Way of Water made 2.3 Billion Dollars. If people hadn't liked the first one they wouldn't have gone to see the second. Edited April 1 by RSG3 Darc_Requiem 1 Quote Link to comment

Hecatom
This movie was very, very good. The action, the ost, the cinematography. The plot is rather simple, but it is serviceable for what the movie wants to do, which is to be a vehicle for great action sequences . Hecatom
Went to see this one yesterday. Is a nice action flick to go to see with the lady. It has both really good action, comedy and a romance story with "literally me" for the ladies. BornWinner, Darc_Requiem, Jurassic and 2 others 3 2 Quote Link to comment

OPTIMUS124
What would you all say are some GOAT level CG effects in movies? Personally, Davy Jones from Pirates of the Carribbean is the pinnacle of CGI characters. Hecatom 1 Quote Link to comment
RSG3
A lot of what makes Davey Jones work so well is so much of the character isn't the CGI at all and is just Nye. Really cool to watch the raw footage with no cgi work done, he did so much work for the animators to build off of. The CGI intro by Robot for Onimusha 3 still impresses the shit out of me. The buildings used in it are miniatures and they built the CGI fights inside the miniatures. Edited May 27 by RSG3 OPTIMUS124 and Wellman 2 Quote Link to comment

Couple that with all of the detail associated with light compositing and textures make it an ensemble that holds up well. I didn't know that fact about the Onimusha 3 intro. Another one for me is the shot in the 07 Transformers movie when Bonecrusher leaps towards Optimus Prime. If you watch that scene it's practically perfect. The physics, flames, lighting, shadows and reflections all line up on both the practical and digital elements. 1 hour ago, Lantis said: Jurassic Park still has incredible CG for 1993 standards Agreed. Wasn't trying to take anything away from the animators, just saying a lot of why it's soooo good is the actor is still there. He doesn't get lost in the tentacles and the lighting and shit. The animators had a wonderful performance to build off of and it takes all their hard work as a collaboration and just shoots the work into the stratosphere. All of the artists involved made that what it is. Compare that to how things are now with the insanely quick deadlines and you don't get the same type of "magic. RSG3 1 Quote Link to comment
Wellman
Furiosa was good. I have seen every Mad Max film, this is probably the best story. Fury Road is a better movie but this is right near it. DangerousJ
I just got back from Furiosa. I have only seen Fury Road. Pros: Great vehicular action. Anya is great in the terse badass role. On the other hand, Hemsworth is charismatic in the talkative Dementus role. Cons The CG is more "blatant" this time. Fury Road looked more practical than this. There are a few times where it was a bit slow. Overall: 8/10 Fury Road -8.5/10 RSG3 and Hecatom 2 Quote Link to comment
