Reaction GIF by MOODMAN

along with comments actually taking this serious because they actually don't know/refuse to want to know is even more funny.

I thought it was widely know that he was bi? Like that wasn't even unusual for the era he's from.

She should just go into porn imo.

She looks a lot like Claire Dames.

She comes from casino money. Why even do this? Is the reality that she got fired to get internet pats on the back from the likes of Ben Shapiro finally sinking in? I mean, if anything I've heard around the time of her firing is true, she was given several opportunities to shut up peddling the conspiracy stuff she was peddling. James Gunn, when he got fired, got given way less chances.

to think that trump could have avoided all these headaches if he had just quelled his vanity, checked his ego in 2020. but no, doubled down on jan 6th. and all these court cases must feel suffocating. i cant imagine traveling state to state to state appearing from one court case into another.

if he had just conceded and been chill in 2020 he would be way popular now, prob win in a landslide and no court cases hanging over him bogging him down.

but he prob never admit to that. his ego wont let him.

as for gina i dont believe people should lose their jobs over their politics cuz that seems close to witch hunting in the 50s regarding communists/ mcCarthy hearings.

shes not a nazi. just not bright, like most magaheads.

It's so cool when you take a look in an old cd/dvd binder and find stuff that was forgotten about for years---- I still have the DVD of Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend!  I put that into a proper case asap.

Other random gold in there: Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on Dreamcast, a CDR that has some music from Legend of the Mystical Ninja (I really wish this would get a re-release some day), Aria & Friends (*oh yes... the absurdly hot Aria Giovanni), various other CDRs with game music, like Donkey Kong Country's water level, stuff from an old internet radio station "Radd Radio" (from early 2000s), Playboy "Girls of Reality TV", Seeing Double [a movie featuring S Club 7!], Uncovered [a movie where Kate Beckinsale got naked], the Class Act movie soundtrack, Monster's Ball and Swordfish [heh, obvious reason I bought those 2], the Bugsy movie soundtrack [by legendary Ennio Morricone], Boyz II Men's Cooley High Harmony, Cirque Du Soleil Nouvelle Experience, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm soundtrack, To The Limit [a movie featuring naked Anna Nicole Smith],

WWF: The Music Vol. 4---yes, back when it was still called "WWF", not WWE.... Idle Hands [selling point = Jessica Alba] , Pharcyde's Labcabincalifornia album, An Erotic Vampire in Paris, Raze's Hell [Xbox game where you kill enemies that look like Teletubbies] the legendary "WWE Divas: Undressed" dvd, The Players Club, a FLCL/Furikuri soundtrack and so much more.

I'm surprised Gina hasn't been in a ton of b-movies since she lost her Disney gig. She hasn't gotten a role since 2022 and no future prospects either.

Why you surprised? She got publicly defamed by one of the largest companies in Hollywood. Johnny Depp, after proving his ex was an abusive lying PoS, isn't getting any roles in Hollywood either. She literally has nothing to lose and everything to gain in this scenario. It's Elon's money and lawyers. If she loses she'll still be in the same situation she is now but no poorer for it. People have been bringing up Pedro Pascal's tweets but the real big deal is the discovery phase. That's typically where large companies fold because they don't want internal dirt leaking out.

That's not even getting to the other factors at play. Disney is in the middle of a proxy war. One that Elon's seemingly getting on. Anything unscrupulous that comes out in this case will just help undermine existing leadership further. I'm curious about their next earnings call. Disney is doing terribly and are seemingly doing nothing to change course.

Disney is a law firm that makes movies, discovery will barely scratch them, Calis an At Will state, and theybhave fuck loads of info on the justifications for firing her.

She's cooked bro, and she does have something to lose, what very little reputation she has left. N9w she's gonna be known as the idiot talked into bad lawsuits by an idiot billionair on top of being the MMA fighter who dropped the SWs bag. They where giving her her own fucking show. She just had to stfu.

Our infrastructure isn't built for 4 ton cars. . . .

This is another item that hasn't been considered regarding EVs and the additional weight. I'm not against them and I know the tech will get better (in terms of downscaling) but this is a lot for how things are built today.

That said, this still applies to larger SUVs as well.

Disney is a law firm that is been taking significant Ls as of late. They also, like most companies, are used to dealing with someone with smaller pockets. They wouldn't be able to run out the clock on this case, because the person bank rolling it has ulterior motives (proxy fight) and far larger pocket book. If you think discovery won't scratch them, then to be blunt you haven't be paying attention. The took an L when they fired Victoria Alonso for cause. It seemed like they were in the right. However, they settled with her before the discovery phase. Of course that doesn't compare to the Ls they keep taking against the state of Florida over the Reedy Creek situation. Disney has lot of skeletons that they don't want to get out because frankly the existing management is under significant, justifiable fire. They are in serious danger of being booted from the S&P 500 due to severe under performance.

It's funny.  Sometimes I think about Trump and all his dumb fucking supporters and how fucking stupid they are and how disgraceful he is and I get all mad.  Then other times I think about these stupid fucking blue haired liberal white fucks who want to cancel everyone for mean tweets and they want chicks with dicks to be allowed in the girls bathroom with my daughter and I get all mad. I can't even tell retard jokes or Polack jokes or anything anymore. Not even Hellen Keller jokes.  Everyone fucking sucks right now.

@Darc_Requiemfunny you brought up Disney earnings. Here's the official in company spin email I just got from work:

Watch a Special Message to Employees and Cast Members:

Dear Fellow Employees & Cast Members,

Just one year ago, we outlined an ambitious plan to return to a period of sustained growth and shareholder value creation, and our strong performance this past quarter demonstrates we have turned the corner and entered a new era.

Earlier today on our quarterly earnings call, I made a number of significant announcements that speak to the important and exciting steps forward Disney is taking.

In Q1, segment operating income increased by 27% and adjusted earnings per share rose 23% compared to the prior year, beating Wall Street’s expectations. And we’ve improved our entertainment streaming operating income by a remarkable 86%, year over year, and remain poised to reach profitability in our combined streaming business by the end of fiscal 2024.

Also, we announced yesterday the full suite of ESPN’s channels will now be available direct to consumer as part of a new joint venture with Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery to create a new streaming sports service, launching this fall. This brings together content from all of these companies’ combined assets, including all the major professional sports leagues and college sports.

Another exciting option available to sports fans will come in the fall of 2025 when we make the full suite of ESPN’s channels available as a stand-alone and highly interactive digital destination. Not only will consumers be able to stream their favorite live games and studio programming, they will also have access to engaging digital integrations like ESPN Bet and fantasy sports, e-commerce features, and a deep array of sports stats — all of which we know will be incredibly compelling to younger sports fans in particular. It will also have very robust personalization features.

ESPN has long prioritized its desire and ability to serve sports fans wherever they are, and these steps will strengthen ESPN’s ability to deliver on that promise. And as you know, we’ve also been engaged in productive conversations with potential content and marketing partners for ESPN. We’ve made progress toward securing deals, and we expect to have more to share in the near future. ESPN is also adding a sports icon to its lineup, with Coach Nick Saban joining the network as an on-air commentator later this year.

We’re excited to offer a more unified streaming experience, which we expect will deliver strong benefits in terms of higher engagement, lower churn, and greater advertising potential. When we launch our stand-alone ESPN service, we will also make it available on Disney+ for bundle subscribers, just as we’ve done with Hulu. We’ve already seen an incredible response to the beta launch of Hulu on Disney+, which has far exceeded every metric, and we are looking forward to the full launch next month.

More than anything, the success of our streaming services is a testament to the amazing content we create. I especially want to acknowledge the teams at Disney Entertainment for the tremendous recognition they have received this awards season. At the Golden Globes, Disney received 27 nominations and won top prizes for FX’s The Bear and Searchlight’s Poor Things. At this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards, we took home 37 wins — more than any other entertainment company, and we lead the industry with 20 nominations heading into the Oscars, which will air on March 10 on ABC.

Looking ahead, we have an exciting slate of originals coming to Disney+, including Agatha from Marvel Studios, Skeleton Crew and The Acolyte from Lucasfilm, Win or Lose from Pixar, and much more, plus the highly anticipated FX saga Shogun is coming to Hulu next month, as well as all seasons of Grey’s Anatomy. I’m also excited to share that on March 15, Disney+ will become the exclusive streaming home of Taylor Swift’s historic concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version), and will feature the concert in its entirety, including the song “cardigan" and four additional acoustic songs that were not in the theatrical or digital purchase release of the film.

Turning to our film Studios, we have an incredibly robust slate of new theatrical releases as we continue revitalizing our creativity. This year we have Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Inside Out 2, Deadpool 3, Alien: Romulus, and Mufasa: The Lion King. And as we announced today, we will release a feature-length animated sequel to Moana in theaters this November. In 2025, we’re excited to bring audiences Captain America: Brave New World, Fantastic Four, Pixar’s Elio, Zootopia 2, and Avatar 3. And we’re already looking forward to 2026 and beyond with Frozen 3, the first Toy Story movie since 2019, and a new Star Wars movie that brings the Mandalorian and Grogu to the big screen for the very first time.

These films will not only reach global audiences in theaters, but as we’ve consistently demonstrated, they will become important anchors on our global streaming platforms, driving subscriptions and engagement, while also continuing to fuel growth in our Experiences businesses.

After all, one of the things that truly sets Disney apart is our unique ability to turn top quality IP into top quality experiences, leading to significant growth. That was certainly true this quarter. Every one of our Parks was profitable in Q1, giving us an incredibly solid foundation to build upon as we invest significantly to turbocharge growth in this business.

We’ve had a tremendous response from guests visiting our newly opened World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland as well as our first-ever Zootopia land at Shanghai Disney Resort. And as I’ve said before, we also have so many untapped stories just waiting to be brought to life in our Parks across the globe as we continue to invest in this extraordinary business.

Additionally, we are entering into an exciting relationship with Epic Games to create a transformational games and entertainment universe that integrates Disney’s world-class storytelling into Epic’s cultural phenomenon, Fortnite, enabling consumers to play, watch, create, and shop for both digital and physical goods. This marks Disney’s biggest entry ever into the world of video games and offers significant opportunities for growth and expansion.

Looking at the renewed strength of our businesses this quarter — from Sports, to Entertainment, to Experiences — the stage is now set for significant growth and success. I couldn’t be prouder of everything you’ve done to help us reach this moment, or more excited for what lies ahead.

Thank you,
Bob

More info on the sports app:

https://arstechnica.com/culture/2024/02/new-streaming-app-from-fox-disney-wbd-is-about-more-than-sports/

Quote

The new app will give subscribers access to ESPN+ and various linear channels that show live sports, including ABC, Fox, TNT, TBS, truTV, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNEWS, FS1, FS2, SECN, ACCN, and BTN. The companies' announcement promised access to "thousands of events" through the app, including from the NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB, and NHL, as well as PGA, Wimbledon, UFC, and Formula 1 events, the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, the FIFA World Cup, and college sports. An anonymous person "familiar with the matter" told Variety that the app won't make original content.

No price point yet.

I look forward to this going forward (win or lose) if it has merit, but you're banking on the collective intelligence of Elon Musk and Gina Carano here. In all likelihood, Elon's posturing and/or being stupid again, and Gina's scratching for any bit of fame she could get now. If Disney has any solid proof they asked her to stop tweeting conspiracy shit and she wouldn't, then that's it. I can't imagine proof of justification in the firing of Carano will unearth secrets Disney just doesn't want to come out.
