NGL, seeing the doom and gloom surrounding Overwatch and the Overwatch League has been both funny and sad.

Funny because it is entertaining, and sad because it was a game with so much potential, not only the game, but also the world, we could have seen animated series like Arcane.

 

Seeing Blizzard mismanage it in every step convinces me that OW keeps being relevant mostly due the porn 🤣

 

If they close and reboot their league I would champion they call the replacement Overwatch Championships (OWCH) or Overwatch International Esports (OWIE)

I know is very unlikely, but I would be willing to give it a chance if is not just a Mario Kart clone in terms of mechanics, like most Kart games out there, but tries to either do its own thing, or better yet, mimic Crash Team Racing mechanics.

I really need to figure out my timing on wakeup reversals because I was missing my EX reversal kicks on wakeup a bunch of times against your meaty wakeup attacks and was getting crushed by that.  And god damn Marisa hits hard AF.

You were adjusting.  And I think you are doing what you need to.  You probably need to footsie superman punch more which I know is annoying cause in order to footsie it at long distance you either gotta parry, drive rush, have charge kicks already loaded or step back.   Stepping back is the easiest option but that runs the risk of putting yourself in the corner.  Drive rush is not guaranteed at certain distances and if spaced correctly I can actually drive back.

 

Dee Jay recovers deceptively quick from up kicks.  There were times I thought I had all the tome in the world to punish and you landed and was able to block.  I also tried to bait you into going up on your wake up and still got hit lol.

Yeah you still got me like 2:1 total but you were raping me at first lol.  In my mind I was going FT10 and I believe you won 10-5.

 

I am still trying to get the hitbox down.  I hadn't played in a couple days (been watching Quarterback at night - show owns) and I definitely felt a tad rusty the first couple of matches.  I got salty in the second match when I missed an easy combo where I DR's on a juggle into FP, and I tried to cancel into the HP punch special move, and then cancel into level 3, but I missed the HP punch cancel and you ended up winning.  That put me on tilt and I still remember it lol.

 

Also if you see me on P2 side and I randomly am jumping backwards or straight up, it's because my brain is telling me to push the right most button with my left hand to move right, but that button makes me jump.  I've been getting better about that and usually now I only do it once before I realize, but prior I would jump right like 2-3x before realizing what I am doing lol.  In general I feel I struggle more on P2 side than P1 side because to do QCF specials I have to use my ring finger and I'm still getting used to actually using that finger for something.  

 

I have definitely seen progress with the hitbox though and plan on building my own so I can have my layout exactly as I'd like.

 

I may be on tonight again and if I see you around I'll send an invite so we can get some more in.

 

You are a god damn god at not jumping.  You must have that just engrained in your brain to not jump.  You probably jump the least out of anyone I have played in this game in general, which is a good thing.  And I noticed when you DID jump at me, which literally was like 6-7 times in our entire set, 2 of them were ambiguous on my part where I wasn't sure if you'd cross me up or not, and they did cross me up and I tried to AA them and got owned.

If I'm comfortable in neutral then I try my damndest not jump since that was one of the first things the FGC community beat into me when I first realized that it was actually possible to play fighting games on a deeper level and not at "jump round house then sweep".  If you start killing me in footsies then I'll definitely get tilted and start cracking for a moment.   

 

If you're ever seeing me do a random lvl 1 in neutral when you're no where near me then just know that it was supposed to be super man punch.  This input reader has gotten me killed more times than any SF game previously.

LOL there was definitely 1 time last night where you did a super, and I literally said out loud to myself "that's a missed input".

 

I think you did it like 2-3 times but this one was super obvious.  We were both in neutral and no one had low health, and it was just randomly thrown out there.  

 

I also need to go back to training mode and confirm/deny that DJ's wakeup EX upkicks are in fact have invincible startup frames, to be sure that my drops were just me missing the timing of it.

And I don't know why Kyroc is but that was the most annoying DeeJay I've played so far.  I need to get better at anti airing and then need to figure out what to do against a DeeJay that mostly runs away.  Walking him down only half works.

I am getting DOG WALKED by the bosses in Gravity Circuit. Reminds me of learning Mega Man bosses for the first time. At least I get to keep all the goods I collected even though I didn't defeat a boss. That double jump is gonna help heaps. 

 

I got back into the Super Mario Maker 2 groove. I revisited some of the special courses I made but never uploaded. Man, I'm not sure what was going through my mind when I made some of these. Perhaps I need to rediscover the little sadist within me and finish working on these older courses and put some new ones up.

ONLY because you were playing Lily and I was just trying to space her.  Can't try to abuse armor on mirror matches cause that will get you killed.

Marisa can bully Lily. Lily has to super for a reversal (Tomahawk buster has no invincibility), Marisa has better buttons, you can hit an easy drive rush if she does wind stocks. There's no reason for you to respect her at all. If she tries to go for a powered up condor dive you can easily drive reversal and shut her down. 

 

Kyroc is my brother in law. He likes to join my rooms when he sees me online.

I would have thought that Lily's hit boxes would be disjointed because of the clubs thus making her buttons better.  Is that not the case?

 

If he's in a room with you again I'll definitely need to focus more on anti airing and reverse drive impact cause he's definitely good practice for that.

Outside of mirror match you can get a lot of milage abusing her armor. For example, if you AA with it you can cancel into level 3 easy. If your opponent starts catching wise to the charging throw in the OD version to mix things up. You'll get the armor without the charge.

Lily is buttons are stubby. Marisa's normals can counter hit rather easily.
