*Sigh* Seeing pictures of my young nieces and nephews for the first time, because I'm not allowed to see them because I'm an athiest? Hopefully when they grow up, they'll rebel against my siblings one day. That made me feel hurt by that from recently finding out why I'm not allowed to be around them. Bittersweet. They take religion way too seriously.

This is another one of the examples for why I firmly believe that the saying "honesty is the best policy" is one of the biggest lies ever told... the scenario of when one comes from a religious family, but happens to not believe the same as they do.  It just makes things incredibly difficult all around to actually be honest with them, particularly since "religiously inclined" people tend to be incredibly close-minded to any contrary opinions on the matter.  They can't tolerate simple questions and skepticism about any of it, usually....and naturally the more devout they are, the worse the reaction tends to be.  I quickly learned early on not to voice my true opinions around certain older family members about that shit, just to keep the peace and avoid upsetting them too much.

And I agree, but growing up, they've concluded me as non religious from the start without me saying a word to them. When you go from being seen as the favorite child as trash on the street, it was satisfying for them at the time. Alot of isolation between us growing up, but we weren't much for each other, so there's that from family generally.

I was seen as "Satan" out of the bunch and they've did everything it took to lock me up in mental institutions or prison before. My father and siblings needed a plan for this "soul purity" case from a false police report, but since I'm Louisiana, police are reluctant to take action against you, whether true or not. That almost cost my future years ago, but stay away from them ever since. My mental health was really the penalty of being around family members.

I just wish my nieces and nephews the best going forward. The feeling is emotional for me.

Fentanyl Caused “Gangsta’s Paradise” Rapper Coolio’s Death

Coolio suffered an accidental death from the effects of fentanyl, heroin and methamphetamine last year, the Los Angeles County coroner's office reported.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — “Gangsta’s Paradise” rapper Coolio suffered an accidental death from the effects of fentanyl, heroin and methamphetamine last year, the Los Angeles County coroner's office reported Thursday.

The county agency also cited cardiomyopathy, a disease that makes it more difficult for the heart to pump blood to the body, as a “significant condition.” Investigators also determined Coolio’s severe asthma and cigarette smoking played a role in his death.

Coolio’s former longtime manager Jarez Posey also confirmed the cause of death Thursday.

Coolio — born Artis Leon Ivey Jr., on Aug. 1, 1963 — died at the Los Angeles home of a friend on Sept. 28, 2022. He was 59.

Coolio won a Grammy for best solo rap performance for “Gangsta’s Paradise,” the 1995 hit from the soundtrack of the Michelle Pfeiffer film “Dangerous Minds” that sampled Stevie Wonder’s 1976 song “Pastime Paradise."

Coolio was born in Monessen, Pennsylvania, and later moved to Compton, California.

He started rapping at 15 and knew by 18 it was what he wanted to do with his life, he said in interviews. Coolio attended community college before devoting himself full-time to the hip-hop scene.

His career album sales totaled 4.8 million, with 978 million on-demand streams of his songs, according to Luminate. He was nominated for six Grammys.

With his distinctive persona, he became a cultural staple, acting occasionally, providing a voice for an animated show and providing the theme music for a Nickelodeon sitcom.

Coolio's estate plans to release a studio album later this year that he had been working on in the days before he died.

Every story about Prince is so fucking outlandish.  He was definitely on another planet.  My favorite story was that skit on Chapelle's show where Prince schooled everybody in basketball ACTUALLY happened IRL.

I honestly wonder if Prince was on the spectrum. His musical brilliance and obsessiveness, and all the stories about how awkwardly he handled social situations, I wouldn't be surprised.

Got damn I forgot how much the starman theme from Super Paper Mario slaps! Everything from the army of 8 bit versions of yourself running by, the giant 8 bit version of you being drawn. And just absolutely wrecking everything in your path to an epic groove that makes ya wanna salsa dance. One of the hypest moments in gaming for me.

The solution is to stop being an atheist. There was one time I worked as a tour guide and showed my guests the inside of this nice indoor space and started talking about who built it and then one guy yells in objection to me: "Is there any proof that someone made this?". So i got in his face and yelled: "Shut up you girlyman! you think there is a possibility this just made itself!?". That is what Atheism is.

Personally, I don't mind if someone believes in the "it just happened" as long as it's not @Fishjie level. If it is Fishjie level, I would worry that these kids will refuse to fix their rooms because they think it's possible for them to just sit and have it arrange itself; or worse, end up getting into scat porn, thinking Cesar Millan is violent, and thinking of getting a sex change.

I just can't take you seriously, at this point. If you have to confind yourself to other people for that level of validation, then you are just a "lapdog".

And given your messy past with me personally, that's what you are.

I have too much arrogant pride in me to be in any kind of group anymore. I prefer my own space. Take that as you like.

I had to take a quick look up on this to check if its true and it actually is?  Did not know that most beers contain estrogen in them.  I never liked the taste of beer regardless.  Always thought it was gross.

Beer is good. Just don’t drink generic piss water beer that you can get at Walmarts like Heineken, Coors, Miller, etc.

No, all beer sucks. It's all bitter piss water bulkshit, it just tastes a little less like urine when you pay a lot.

Ciders aren't beer, they are Ciders. I like Ciders and hard liquors, but all beer, every I've ever had be it cheap Natty Ice on up to expensive shit I can't remember the name of all rhe taste the same...like varying shades of shit.

What do you recommend?  Cause I have yet to try a beer that I liked.

I could write a dissertation on the subject. I would try a few different varieties- some stores let you buy by the bottle and you can put yourself together a nice little sampler. Try something like a porter- Sierra Nevada is a popular brand that started out as a small craft beer and helped launch the microbrewery phenomenon. That actually have some decent stuff. Their porter is good. Stone IPA was one of my favorites, but  IPA is an acquired taste. Very hoppy. If you were to try an IPA, I'd go with Dogfish Head 60 minute IPA. Living in VA, you should be able to find it since its brewed in Delaware.

Lagers are great too, especially imported. Try St. Pauli Girl- it's awesome.much lighter than porters and IPAs.

Maybe give a stout a try. Murphy's or Guinness.

Newcastle Brown Ale might be a good one to try, very easy on the pallet. Nice and malty.

Just a few of the top of my head.

There are a bunch of chemical messengers in plant biology that are basically estrogen, but you really have to eat/drink a fuckton of them before they'd mess with you.  Like, if you're drinking that much beer phyto-estrogens are the least of your problems.

That said, I've never really been into beer either.  The only time I opt for beer is when I am drinking socially, but want to drink so slowly that I stay 100% sober.  Beer is generally distasteful enough that I can nurse one for an hour+ no problem.

Same. I’m very picky about beer. I usually gravitate towards sours when I drink beer. Ciders are always good usually though. One of my favorites I’ve had was a triple pepper cider. Habanero, Jalapeño, and Serrano blend. Surprisingly sweet and went down smooth.

I think I should boycott Walmart one days. Granted, it's around the corner by me. It's just that the associates make things a burden for me over there. They tend to call the police on me after i enter the store, even though I buy from them everytime I go there. That's been going on for months now.

I've found out why that is, which is the way that I look and dress. The two personal factors for them considered to be "wicked". The gas station "Texaco" years back, I've gotten one of my acquitances to ask why they've banned me there, they've said "We don't know what kind of person you are".

There was one employee that I've worked with and had to ask this question out of insecurity if I look suspicious. He answered "people with a vibe like yours with an adorable smile and youthful face is not reassuring to be trusted. I wouldn't trust you at all,  no offense to you".

I just won't go to Walmart anymore.

It is the reason why I don't drink alcohol outside special occasions.

Leaving aside that it damages your body, there are stuff that people don't know about like phytoestrogen and prolactin that increase the estrogen levels in your body, which after a prolonged amount of time causes health problems for both men and women outside the usual alcohol problems.

As usual, everything in excess is bad.

Since you like Ciders, you should try Wild Blue or Damn Lemon.

Those 2 are some of my favorite beers, since they are on the sweet end of the spectrum

Wild Blue Premium Blueberry Lager, Bottles - Shop Beer at H-E-B

Damm Lemon beer – Clara Mediterránea (shandy / radler), bottle

There is also Oculto, which is made with Blue Agabe and Tequila

Oculto – Tequila Inspired Beer – Drink Spirits

There isn't enough estrogen in beer to matter, Bud Light makes you fat and kills yoyr liver, it's gonna make you female or anything lol.

Is not that there is estrogen, but stuff like phytoestrogen and prolactin that increase the estrogen levels in your body, putting you at risk of lower T.

Also prolactin is the hormone that causes breast growth and milk production.

There have been studies that shows that it actually causes changes in the body.

The so called dad body seems to be because of heavy consumption of beer through prolonged amounts of time.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/7892304/

Currently there are some studies that are being done to see the relation between beer consumption and breast cancer in both men and women.

There are estrogen sensitive breast cancers where beer and a few other things are probably a bad idea to keep consuming once you have it.  But phytoestrogen isn't a risk factor for developing the cancer in the first place.

Not saying you're doing this but this is almost tantamount to fear mongering, this effects an extremely small part of the population. This won't hit 99% of daily beer drinkers ever.

“The Community movie, there’s some progress on it. We’re supposed to be shooting it soon. Haven’t seen a script. In true Dan [Harmon] fashion, will probably get it on the first day. But yeah, it’s supposed to be happening. I know just as much about it as you do.” - Troy actor Donald Glover
