Pixel 8 on deck. 

 

I'm not the type to do the annual trade in but I have some shenanigan funds left over from the sale of my house. I personally like the single hand use that comes with the smaller form factor. The 7 had a 6.3 in screen and the 8 drops down to a 6.2. The fact that you also get face unlock with all your more secure apps (Class 3) is a blessing. 

 

This new camera also isn't a joke.

Imma wait for the Pixel fold 2. That 8 looks nice and I'm on a Galaxy Fold 4. I might pick up an older pixel for media use and as a backup phone

Depending on it's actual size folded, I may consider trading this for that one. The first phone was cool but it needed a bit more time in the oven. Google is making some decent hardware great with software doing the heavy lift. I'm hopeful for the 2nd gen fold.

I grabbed a Pixel 8 Pro.  My 6 Pro had a small screen crack from a drop, and the Google brand case was falling apart badly. (It was a shit model year for Google's in-house phone case, my wife has one that's falling apart the same way.)

 

Anyway, the 8 is nice.  Performance wise it's about the same as the 6 for my purposes, but runs cooler.  The smaller screen is a bit of an adjustment- there's a few apps I use that go into smaller print and even reading them on the 6 could be kind of a struggle.  The camera lenses are straight up better, but the auto focus doesn't quite seem as correct (maybe that's just learning curve on my part).

Jada got interviewed by Stephen and I don't think it helped.   The interview is tame but some of the things she's saying is kind of head scratching.

She's saying the slap brought them closer together...which is weird considering we just found out that in the book she's promoting she specifically seemed kind of standoffish by saying "We weren't even together at the time".  I mean even if I accept that its still problematic since it feels like you are rewarding the guy for going up there and slapping chris and tarnishing his rep unnecessarily over a extremely weak joke.

Ohhh yes I'm loving every bit of this Jada/Will drama in the celeb news cycle over the past few years now.  Every time we think it's winding down... something new pops up yet again for our amusement.  I know the youtube content creators out there love it as well since it's another golden source of material to work with....everyone wins here... everyone except Will, of course.

Side note: I haven't been to The Cheesecake Factory in almost 20 years. Has somethig changed? Because when I went, everything was fucking over priced. I dropped like $50 on myself when a group of us went their after work in 2004.

I don't even understand what happened in this clip to be completely honest.  I had to watch it a 2nd time and I still don't get it.  So...she didn't like the way how she responded to the inquiry but as far as I can tell she didn't respond with any hint of malice or anything just just stated she barely has any minorities that she works with.  This feels like this woman is trying to reach for something to offended instead of looking at things objectively.   I'm for people being aware aware but this isn't it...I don't know what this is.

Well, I'm not surprised. Corporations were put in place in 1871, opposed to humans in 1776. 

 

Whatever eras they've created or will after, they destroy after it outlived their personal benefit.

 

Most people tend to say I'm negative for having things to come to pass. Optimism is one thing, but a system that was not designed to be authentic for the intent to deceive you with materialistic labor as the pinnacle of happiness is another. No matter how hard people work, it's ashame that you are just a pawn. 

 

I wish people can reciprocate from an honest system that we will probably never have.

True and I had forgotten that Veltrimites fought amongst themselves greatly diminishing their own population just to ensure the strongest were left behind. They are like a cross between Kryptonians and Saiyans.

Hmm. 50 for one person seems about right. I think I was close to that when I went last year. Haven't gone since. That menu is deep. I can't count how many times I said to myself "I know for a FACT you don't have all this shit..." I feel it showed: the food I got outside of the cheesecake slices I took home was alright at best. That's why I never went back. But yeah, it seemed easy to run up a check in that place.

I wouldn't go far in saying that a lot of microaggressions are nothing but like a good chunk of things, it depends on situation and context.   That video above didn't really have really have any slight insult or hidden nastiness that I could perceive from it.   Nothing that would make you say "....why would you say this/feel that way in this moment right now?".  I'm also not going to say that it's impossible that something isn't there because I'm not hispanic so there's always a chance that there's something I missed but as far as I can tell from this video this lady asked her a question about her not giving up something that she's done that's potentially racist and all she did was respond saying she barely works with anyone who is minority aside from someone one who is "slightly hispanic" which implies unsurity and and just leaves some room in case she's wrong.  She didn't say anything like "she's slightly hispanic because she's good at making tacos and that's it" or something along those lines (which if she had would probably be a bit more than a slight and closer to ignorance).   This lady just seemingly got upset because she didn't feel like she had any examples of being racist.   And apparently the act of responding that she believes she hasn't done anything racist is in and of itself and racist act?  Like I don't even know what it is she's trying to her hardest to be offended by here.  It screams she just wants to believe in her heart that's its impossible for this lady to not have done anything so she's going to make something.
