How is the actual game though?

It's solid! I really enjoyed my time with it. Gameplay is fun enough, it's got some great pixel art, the characters are charming, and overall the writing is witty and funny.

Honestly, the OST is my least favorite thing about it, and I don't even think it's bad, just not stellar. But people hype the OST as amazing, but I think it's the most underwhelming thing of the entire game

Soda is fuckin' good.

I like soda, but I like higher quality soda. The common name brand shit like Sprite, Mountain Dew, and whatever else they’re usually hawking in a drive-thru is swill. All that stuff tastes real heavy and I always feel like shit drinking it after like half a can. But actually good soda (usually seen in glass bottles) is delicious.

That said I’ve never liked any variety of cola. Even before I got bougee about what I drink I hated both Pepsi and Coca-cola, even as a kid.

There's hardly anything in the "Chinese food" category that jumps out as appealing to me.  Most of it looks completely disgusting, and it tends to smell bad, imo.  It's hard to go wrong with rice though; so at least they have that as a win, imo... I like both brown and white rice.. I don't even really need stuff to go with it, but it works with so many other foods.

Eggs and breakfast burritos are the worst breakfast foods.  You'd have to pay me to eat such horrible nonsense.  I don't care how eggs are prepared either; people often will say "oh, maybe you've only had them ____... you should try them like this..."  Nah man...the shit is repulsive to me in every way it's prepared.

My dad has been a big fan of Lacroix drinks, and I've heard others going on about them... I tried it and nahhhh that's also a no for me, dawg.  It's not horrible it's just like barely there in terms of taste, imo... like drinking air and... nothingness...with maybe a 4 or 5 grains total of sugar in there.

Because with some things, I'm a lazy muthafucka--->-I don't like stick-shift vehicles.  Yes, I realize this is indeed a violation of Man Law.  ..but given a choice between automatic and manual I'm buying auto every time.... let the car itself do the damn "work".

Character race-swaps-- this is just stupid 99% of the time, imo...no matter what the change is.  I have mixed feelings with the upcoming black Superman because at least this is a different Kryptonian, so that's really not that big a deal, imo... but it would be silly if they were presenting us with a black Kal El... just as dumb as if someone produced a new Spawn film with a Japanese "Al Simmons". (ha, I'm sure Todd McFarlane himself would give a big hell nah to that since Spawn is his baby)...or like if Heihachi Mishima was suddenly being portrayed by a Mexican dude... nah man get out of here with that.

The best version of SFIV was the iphone version. They paired down the characters to what was absolutely necessary for them to function and it was overall more fun because some of the stupid execution requirements were gone too.

Best version is definitely 3DS version of SFIV. You can't beat touch screen booms and flashkick. Easily the most broken version of the game.

We have race lifts because it's a middle ground. I know a lot people said just create a new character but fans won't give a shit. Fans often reject new characters demanding the characters they are familiar with. It's something that wouldn't need to happen if fandom were more accepting of new ideas.

I drink a ton of sparkling water. I love the carbonation and its hydration.

The best ones are the Pellegrino ones though. The flavor is better than all the rest, but most of them are pretty good and a good alternative to drinking pop.

We liked a lot Pellegrino aranciata. But damn it's loaded with a lot of refined sugar.

I have been a huge advocate of Perrier water for forever and a day.

The pure, unflavored variety.

It is the best ice cold thirst quencher, imo.

Plain old H2O is for fueling the machine, mostly, to me, whereas Perrier is the treat.

Pellegrino is waaaay flatter than Perrier, but will do in a pinch.

If I am going to drink a soda, it damned sure isn't  going to be HFCS. That shit isn't just plain nasty, it is a Zen Koan of refining nasty to its most unrefined state. Like, it took mankind putting in actual effort to make something that nasty.

Mexican Coke and Jones are A-Okay.

Throwback Mountain Dew is the soda version of Dive Bar elitism.

Unpopular Opinion Time:

SSF4 and Ultra are not only the best recent SF games, but the only good Street Fighter games not named HF, ST, or A2.

Yes, this is in spite of the bullshit technical nonsense.

A3 is a poor man's CvS2.

Tekken 7 would be the best Tekken if Rage Arts did not exist. And they shouldn't.

Condoms totally kill the sensation.

It's either these Coke Zero (Vanilla if possible), Pepsi Zero (Vanilla) or that new Mountain Dew Melon Zero. The last one is GREAT!

Another take - Man of Steel is an underappreciated gem in the DCEU.

I guess that since an Olsen killed the best Joker, MoS gets a pass for its own nonsense.

Retributive justice and all that.

Fuck I hate this trope in TV when people with guns move towards a person instead of just shooting.

haha this reminded me of the dumbest scene I remember from the old GI Joe cartoon.. I saw this recently since the Hasbro youtube channel has been showing live-streamed episodes for some months now...

There's 2 Cobra soldiers armed with their usual rifles... and in comes Quick-Kick.  I've never been a fan of this character in the first place; I realize WHY he exists though---most likely they were trying to capitalize on the popularity of the legendary Bruce Lee at the time, so naturally you make up a "Bruce Lee" guy to be in the mix....but it's a strange fit since this is a show about 2 militarized factions that have firearms.  Anyway... OF COURSE the 2 Cobra soldiers don't bother gunning him down at range...nah because that would make sense, and this is an 80s cartoon with some tough "standards and practices" to worry about.  Instead, they start wielding their rifles like melee weapons, taking swings at Quick-Kick instead of just shooting him before he could even get close. 😆  I still wonder how many kids at the time were even going---"Oh come ON now...".  Since QK is the good guy and this is an 80s cartoon, naturally the 2 Cobra dudes cannot successfully bash him with their rifles, and he easily takes them out since he's a hand-to-hand combat specialist.

Depends on the character. Jon Stewart was ingenious, and I think a black Superman could be as well. Miles is also a great Spider-Man, as is MCU Nick Fury.

I believe the current Future State comic line hasn't really made this new black Batman a racial allegory or anything yet, but regardless of what he looks like he's definitely the weakest Dark Knight narrative-wise.

I need to rewatch both of those movies. I did buy the 4K Steelbook of V for Vendetta not too long ago.

Uh tbh Watchmen is alright, though I know there are wildly mixed opinions on it. I loved V for Vendetta though, even if people call it a 2 bit movie. It's amazing and I love it a lot.

Ok, good. Watchmen is fine, but when you look at how great the source material is, it's mediocre to kinda bad. The show was pretty good, enjoyed it a lot more than the movie.

I like the V for Vendetta movie more than the comic book, but it's been a while since I experienced either.

Yeah I mostly agree with this. LOL @ the Rorschach in window scene from the movie. I haven't seen the show yet.

I also like the V movie better than the comic, but I hold a lot of disdain for what it spawned. Masks, memes and pseudo-intellectualism became way too commonplace after that. V ran so Heath Ledger's Joker could laugh on our Facebook timelines. Good movie, nice personal impact, painful social impact.

I don't think John Stewart should fall into this as Green Lanterns are space cops. Anyone can be one if they meet the requirements.

I was actually gonna make this distinction myself but I felt like y’all would understand the point I was making. But yeah I don’t actually have a problem with him.

Bruh, that's roughly 80% of the internet, and a bunch of us assholes here fall into that too

I haven't experienced anything like that here except for Lord Vega, but to be fair you need a really high IQ to understand his posts. They're so stupid that they loop back to genius, and I always find myself falling for the bait like a chump. If more people were like that here, then I would have left long ago. As for the memes, I don't mind them unless they look like this:

Miles actually deserves that distinction too. It's easy to forget but Miles was the Spider-Man of an alternative universe. The guy never meant to be a replacement for the "real" Peter Parker. I think Miles existence is a benefit to the real Peter as Miles being around means that Peter can finally grow as a character. Have Miles be the High School Spider-Man and let Peter handle the grown man shit.

Speaking of Miles:

Spiderman: Miles Morales is a glorified expansion pack.

I did enjoy it, but it certainly gave me Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith vibes.

Here's the thing about the Joker. Reading material like comics allow him to become an allegorical tool sometimes. He's allowed to be a special connection to Batman's existence in Arkham City and Knight because that's who he is. When you have hundreds of hours to establish subliminal stuff, you can make a character deeper than an attachment to you, which is exactly how the comics and games approach him as. They make you experience the sonder about him.

Movies often make a mistake with this. Look at Leto and you can clearly see that he's a poorly directed Joker. Look at his work on Mr. Nobody and you can tell he's an amazing actor (at least by my opinion). Snyder and whoever else wants him to be the way he is wants him to be this self-perceiving savior of Batman and/or society, when all he is is a psychotic flamethrower to Batman's cooler nature. I mean, obviously, he's much deeper than that, but my point is that you cannot force hundreds of hours of content into 2 hours and expect us to actually take him seriously. Dude is laughing in a circle of knives? Are you unable to fucking picture in your mind that all the audience is thinking about is the motherfucking Joker walking around the room, carefully setting down knives so he can laugh in the middle because he wants to show how quirky he is?

Nolan's Joker was better because he was boiled down to 2 things: The Batman Breaker and a dude who wants to achieve his goal. That's the basic structure of any character; a motivation and a goal. He was executed well for what he has the margin to be. That's why he's liked. Jack Nicholson was like that too.

Villains are always more interesting than the heroes even when they're not fleshed out as well. The Joker movie made him an almost sympathetic character because rather than portraying him as a psychopath who killed just because, it showed his motivations.

Same thing with Dracula in the Castlevania series. SotN gave him a motivation that made him sympathetic and just like the show, you could understand why he was doing what he was doing even if you couldn't cosign it. I think the show has been all the worse for not having him in it right now. I keep hoping he'll come back and just wreck everybody lol
