No one else has a eternals review? Lmfao.

I watched the movie and it was fine. I found the first act to be boring but the rest of it was decent. I appreciate how different it is from typical Marvel fare with the main conflict being a dilemma.

Marvel should have stuck with the original plan in making this film start phase 4. This will be the base for cosmic MCU

Felt about the same. Some of the cuts were jarring for sure and got alittle long winded with talking but a decent film.

I'm still very much opposed to that Agatha spinoff despite me liking her due to not every fuckin body needing a spinoff (that said I'll probably still watch anyway) . Disney just making up content to stuff in Disney+

I agree with you. Here character was cool and all but does she really need her own show? I say nay. That's my bars for today 🙃

Everytime I see someone get a spin-off, I’m reminded of this one scene in the Shantae games where they break the 4th wall and how a spin-off can fail. It could work (and probably will since Disney), but doing a spin-off focusing on a single character usually means cutting off a part of the same audience of the original source and if it doesn’t grow from there it’s a failure. There’s also other problems with spin-offs like making it it’s own thing (The Cleveland Show was called black Family Guy the entirety of its run), exaggerating it’s characters to where it becomes obnoxious  (Planet Sheen), or finding out the character really should’ve stayed a side character (Friends spin-off Joey).

Like I said, I don’t see it outright failing. I’m just wondering what it will be about.

Was her character really all that cool? Most of it was fake. We only get like 2 episodes with the real her and I kinda thought that one was sorta corny.

Like I can't get hype for an Aretha show because there's almost 0 content with her. What's that show even gonna be about?

The She-Hulk situation is weird for me, because she's easier to pull of in practical effects than the Hulk. Sure you are unlikely to find some 6'6" actress but one 6' or little taller would be a possibility. I wonder how much its going to cost to do the show. IIRC the actress playing her is like 5'4". I hope this doesn't end up being a Beastboy on Titan's situation.

If they're gonna let her control her Hulk outs, then I definitely see some cost cutting measures going on. I honestly thought they were just gonna find some really tall muscular chick to play her, then add effects to her face and practical effects for height.

I'm nervous about this but we'll see

Same here, that's the route I though they'd go. I thought they'd do what they did with Chris Evans in Captain America The First Avenger. CGI her head on to a smaller persons body then have the buff actress be She-Hulk the rest of the series.

Honestly for years one of the actresses I was certain would be perfect for the role of both Jen Walters and She Hulk was Angie Harmon.

Edit: But Tatiana is fantastic and was great on Orphan Black. This is not the first time Hollywood magic maybe used to make a short actor or actress look taller.

Given thaT they filed for their trademark 5 years after the porno released they should give a shit.

They should but they don't. They should have giving a shit about renegotiating ScarJos contract and they didn't do that either.

Doubt the mouse is scared of a porno company.

I saw Eternals today.

I have never read the comics.

Pros:

The sense of scope and scale as a "long" term (over thousands of years) sort of project.

The diverse cast and some brief sexuality lol. I believe this is the first time weve seen ASL in a MCU film and a gay kiss from a main character.

The twists and the shifting allegiances of some characters. One of them was kinda moving (I am a sentimental squigga. YMMV)

There werent really any true "villains" in this.

Cons:

Some characters were get short shrift (understandable since there are 10 leads).

A little long

I would have liked one more big action scene.

Overall: 7.5/10

The second end credit scene....

Spoiler

The Black Knight and the other "Black Knight" - aka BLADE my nyukkas!

Spoiler

I'm sure they aren't scared but sometime fear is healthy. See your aforementioned ScarJo situation.

Oh I didn't say it wasn't healthy. Current market situations are far from healthy, Disney owns almost everything media now. It's a problem and one of those problems is they have nothing and no one to fear.

I've stated why before. No I don't agree.

It's a huge mistake. A really big one. I think its really disrespectful to Chadwicks hard work bringing the character and the world of Wakanda to the big screen. They are letting their emotions get in the way of his hard work.

I agree with you 100%

On one hand, recasting might cause alot of fan backlash, on the other, just going in a different direction entirely could also cause similar backlash.

Not sure where I stand on the T'Challa situation, but I trust Marvel in the end to make whatever it is they do enjoyable. I just kinda wish Chad could've been able to let them know what's up so they could make adjustments

As great as Chadwick was, T'Challa was around 50 years before he portrayed him and all that history should not be chucked in the trash bin. DC has two live action Batmans and and three live action Bruce Wayne's at the same time. The most iconic black superhero that was literally created under the threat of death deserves better. I see a lot of people that didn't know a damn thing about the character discounting people that have followed the character for years and decades. I see them making statements that show that's they don't the importance of T'Challa and it upsets me. T'Challa is more than just some guy in a panther suit.  Recasting T'Challa isn't disrespecting Chadwick but not recasting T'Challa is disrespectful to the character itself.

While I absolutely get it, I also understand why they are doing it. Firstly it isn't like they are killing off the character in all media, they are just saying for the MCU there will not be another T'Challa. And while there maybe others that could step into the role, they would sit in the shadow of a all time best performance that Chadwick was able to bring. It will suck but you can do Black Panther stories around different incarnations and Wakanda can feature other heroes. Also while you and I may not live to see it, there definitely will be another live action Black Panther just like there will one day be another live action Iron Man.

I know why they are doing it. They are just being emotional, misguided, and short sighted in my view. I grew up with no one like T'Challa in film. Seeing the affect it had on little boys that finally did have someone to look up in movie , that was more important than Black Panther film  itself. They are taking that away from those little boys. It's not fair to them. People like me will be fine. I was fine before the movie and the MCU. I already knew who T'Challa was. What they are doing are robbing those little boys of their hero twice. The first time was out of their hands, the second is completely in their control.

Yeah, as fucked up a spot as they were in, I too think they should have recast T'Challa. And I'm not even into Black Panther like that. MCU T-Challa was just cool enough in my book that you can't just throw him away. No one but the most insane person would be mad if they recast, given these circumstances. Still bugs me out (though I get Chadwick keeping the secret) that Feige was just as surprised as the rest of us when Boseman died.

@axeman61Chadwick keeping it secret really hits home for me because that's what my dad did. I was 23 (two weeks before my 24th birthday) when my dad died. It'll be 18 years on the 28th of this month. My mom made my dad tell us, he seemed fine up until like 6 weeks before he died. My dad had cancer almost half my life, he found out when I was 13. I think back on some many things with him. We butted heads when I was 18 and I don't even know if that would have happened if I knew he was sick. Some of the things he did that seemed irrational was because I didn't have the context. Now I do, things make so much more sense, and I can't even talk to him about it.....and sorry for getting WAY off topic. November is just a rough month for me.

Edit: If I seem grouchier than usual it's because... well I am. Not excusing it, but you all at least know why.
