What you're doing is assuming that every conservative has a problem with gays, with trans people, or with non-whites. Are there some that do? Sure, but assuming that's the case for all of them is as dumb as believing that because a black guy somewhere robbed somebody, that all black guys are thieves.

Some people genuinely just don't give a shit because life is too short, but politically obsessed libs just assume that everybody is as wrapped up in idpol stuff as they are, hence the metric fuckton of projection that usually gets cast on everyone else.

I didn't do any assuming either. Because the conservative side of politics was the one inviting gays over while actively having discussions about using the supreme court to challenge gay marriage now that they have a majority. Hell it is super common on a lot of conservative media to say that you're inviting people over then say that you can either have this opinion or be unamerican.

What you're saying in this last bit has been my whole point. You could have just said that from the jump and saved us both some time. Conservatives are exclusionary, but liberals are too even though they act like they aren't. Nobody is "inviting"anybody, those folks are actively choosing to be there and being accepted because again, conservatives are not a monolith.

It is pretty interesting to see how people distinguish "Liberals" to Conservatives in American Politics. Other than "progressive" and "maga" factions of politics, the two major American political parties are like 2 or 3 points away from being almost the exact same. I would say they are mostly right-leaning if we are using traditional political spectrum.

I compare that with the major political parties in Canada and the Conservative and Liberal parties here are more centrist I would say. Even if Conservatives advocate for something that it is ideologically opposed to Conservatism, they kind of have to support it to remain relevant for power. (E.g. universal healthcare, subsidized education, etc.)

My point mainly being that people (in politics) are more similar than not in most cases.

I know someone from Spain who has been living in UK for a long while now, and yeah to her liberal means something different from American liberals.

The right also listen to better music. I swear, the more leftist the person is the shittier his/her play list is.
