I don't know any blind people, but I still feel confident saying most blind people would enjoy being able to see.

Many people think that the benefit of being blind is that it is guaranteed that the person isn't a racist. However, many blind people I've met tend to hate indian people and can actually tell if a person is indian or not.

We are fucking doomed as a society if the people in the middle can't keep the crazies in check.  I swear to god.  SMH.  The fact that this is even a problem for anyone or the fact that anyone is bothering to spin this as an issue is pissing me TF off.

The center can't do much because both sides are louder across platforms leaving nothing to compromise on.

Yeah, accents are still a thing, speech patterns are still a thing, as long as you can differentiate people in some way you can still be biased.

I mean on the internet I can't see anyone's physical features, but if they type too many words without vowels and generally disregard proper spelling and grammar, I automatically hate them.

Same here. Even though I haven't seen anyones physical features here i can tell just by the views on their post that they are really fat and ugly.

I might get that "Stinkor" figure I keep seeing lately in Target and Walmart.... haha it just hit me---imagine being a "wereskunk"!  That would be funny, but even more of a curse than normal lycanthropy... you can shift into this monstrous animal/human hybrid form....but it's a skunk so you're a creature that's known because of how much its spray stinks....and it's a bit on the ugly side too; not quite as cool-looking as a wolf.

...ooh, or a werebear---imagine how terrifying that could be in real life.  Skyrim has them, btw... that was an awesome surprise on one of my adventures just randomly exploring the world of Tamriel that day...and they just pop up out of nowhere on ya.  In a panic I changed into the vampire lord monster form to fight them.

Would you speak with a French accent?

anybody ever had mint jelly?

i looked up what goes well with mint jelly and all it said was lamb meat, sometimes pork.

others said spread it with honey. others chocolate.

I hate lamb and mint jelly, and I dislike sweet bbq sauce for the same reason.  It's not a dessert, I don't want all that excess sugar with a meal.

I'm not sure the problem is the folks on the extreme ends, it's when the folks in the middle hear those people on the extremes and go, "Yeah, that sounds about right." Nobody is going to take the extremists seriously, but it's when their ideas start to infect the normally more centered people that they become a little more of a danger. And I think this is a good example of people hearing those extremist ideas and coopting them.

Back in our grandparents' day, batshit opinions were broadcast to the world in the lofty confines of the Letters to the Editor section of newspapers.  Except mostly nobody really read that shit, so it was just howling into the void.

Difference nowadays is that companies figured out how to monetize shoving that shit in peoples' eyeballs, so now there's an actual corporate arms-race to get the ever worsening takes served up to ever increasing numbers of people.  THAT is the invisible hand of capitalism at work, and as we all know disparaging capitalism is socialism.

oh shit---imagine other animal possibilities... like being a werekangaroo!!

Too bad that Elder Scrolls 6 still has probably a few decades of dev time before it's even close to release.. that world does indeed have other "were-" creatures/people in it besides the wolves and bears, if I recall.  I don't think the Khajit could as the same thing though, since they have the same appearance all the time.

...ooh, a weregiraffe! 🤣  Those are too silly though, but I probably would be a wereskunk....or a bear or crocodile.

I'll bet Stinkor is gone when I get back to that store... it's usually how my luck plays out; I'll think "I should get that when I see it again..." then I go back to the store and it's gone.  It appears I lost the chance forever on that Venger/Dungeonmaster double-pack.  The stores only have the other D&D characters now.

yeah, my cousin had the original Stinkor back then... and I thought it would be funny to wash the figure (*unbeknownst to my cousin, of course); I was thorough with the hot water and soap....the smell was diminished but it was still there.

From the wiki: https://he-man.fandom.com/wiki/Stinkor

Stinkor was presented to Lou Scheimer and other staff at Filmation for inclusion in the original She-Ra: Princess of Power cartoon series as a member of the Evil Horde, but his questionable superpower kept him from ever making an appearance on television. According to Filmation staff, when the description of Stinkor was read out at a meeting of the story editors, all of them burst out laughing at the idea of a character who was "a walking fart joke" and vowed never to use Stinkor in any episode script[3]

🤣

According to the superbowl commercial yesterday, Canadians invented pizza among other things...

Hawaiian pizza actually was invented in Canada. The story behind it is pretty interesting. A Greek Immigrant in Canada coming up with a new Italian dish, using a South American fruit, and inspired by Asian cuisine dish preparation. I believe it was called Hawaiian pizza because of the brand of pineapples used. The restaurant that first served it is about an hour from where I grew up. It's in Chatham, Ontario, Canada.

God damn this sista and black women in general have been getting absolutely dragged in these comments and across YouTube for talking ish about South East Asian women and Latinas overseas.

The Thai and Phillipenas in particular aren't having it. There's response videos of philipenas and Thai women going in on western women's hygiene, how they can't keep their men and ish.

I honestly can't blame the South East Asians for clapping back this hard. Ever since this passport bro thing has been gaining attention. Western women have been going in on not just those guys. But the South East Asian women too.

The ignorance and arrogance they speak with about these women is wild. A lot of women here in the west definitely need some humble pie. Some really walk around here thinking they are the gold standard, women world wide need to level up to.

I Am ‘Not Part of the Problem’: Billionaire Bill Gates Defends Using Private Jet as Climate Activist 🤡

Bill Gates staunchly defended his work as a climate activist during a recent interview when pressured about his use of private jets.

The interview which was conducted by BBC’s Amol Rajan was a rare in-depth sit down interview with Gates where Rajan wasted no time in cutting straight to the hard hitting questions.

Quote

“What do you say to the charge that if you are a climate change campaigner, but you also travel around the world in a private jet, you’re a hypocrite?” Rajan asked.

“Well, I buy the gold standard of funding Climeworks to do direct air capture that far exceeds my family’s carbon footprint,” Gates said.

Climeworks, the company referenced by Gates, is an emissions reduction company that aims to remove harmful CO2 from the air using direct air capture technology to help neutralize the gas. For a monthly fee, Gates and others like him pay to remove “their” carbon contribution from the air.

Even as recently as 2022, the promises from some similar companies faced intense scrutiny, with some studies showing they overstated their emission reductions significantly.

Quote

Gates continued, “I spend billions of dollars on climate innovation. So, you know, should I stay at home and not come to Kenya and learn about farming and malaria — Anyway. I mean, I’m comfortable with the idea that not only am I not part of the problem — by paying for the offsets, but also through the billions that my Breakthrough Energy group is spending, that I’m part of the solution.”

Breakthrough Energy is just part of Gates’ many companies that since 2015 have worked to develop innovation in sustainable energy and reduce harmful emissions.

People must not know about or forgot about ol Clayton Bigsby

Clayton Bigsby is a fictional character played by Dave Chappelle, so he doesn't count for real life stuff.

I think the point I was making is that blind people can tell if the person is Indian because of the smell. Black and white guys don't have a specific odor (although, many black people here in nyc who never shower tend to smell like pencil sharpeners, however there are white guys who smell like that too in nyc).

I referenced the skit as a joke man. Lighten up.

A shame our newsmedia has such a narrow focus that only a few stories can get much coverage at any given time---there's another shooting that happened so of course that's going to dominate the headlines now.  The older stories like that girl Shanquella being killed by her so-called "friends" in Mexico, the Idaho student murders are long gone from tv airtime at this point... and the apparent UFOs from last week will soon be dropped as well, unless we get another one of those again soon.

*oh there's still coverage though; Fox just went back to talking about the mysterious "Objects" being shot down recently.

PAWG Alert though--- Katie Pavlich is the Fox hottie that's on the morning show right now, filling in for Ainsley.
