Probably not many people, if any knew about this, but this past weekend was the presidential elections in my country.

The current political party has been in power for about 12 years, with the last 8 being what you could say an illegal goverment, since the 1st election was won via electoral fraud and the next one was illegal since presidents in my country can only have one term by our constitution, and of course, "won" again via fraud.

 

The "president" has clear ties with drug cartels, with his brother being extradited and imprisioned by the usa government last year.

The fuckers know they are toasted, so that is why last year they passed laws to create autonomous zones within the country to "attract" external investment, but we all know it was to have safe havens to run away.

 

What they didnt count was that

A) The majority of people who are fed up unitied in one political movement

B) The majority of people who are fed up went and voted, like for example a great aunt of mine who is 102 yo went to vote to take the fuckers out.

C) People from their own political party are fed up and voted for the opsition.

D) the TSE (the organization that is akin to the electoral college) took measures to ensure no fraud this time, by inviting external organizations to oversee the elections.

 

So, now we have our 1st woman president.

Of course, the salt has been glorious from the other side, since they have been trying to paint the opposition as commies and socialist that are in cahoots with the Venezuelan government, lol.

 

Side note, the political party has been involved in all the coup d'etats and grave acts of corruption in my country, even being involved with the massacres of people in the 80s during the cold war patrocinated by the usa government for the proxy wars that plagued the region during the 70's up to the 90's

 

So they always try to play the commie socialist card, even when it doesnt make sense, since you know, most of the people in the opposition, included the candidates are involved with the private sector.

 

 

You could say they are a criminal organization Masquerading as a political party, considering its history, and the current ties with drug cartels.

 

What was surprising is that so far it has been without major incidents, there are of course blatant acts of corruption that are being tried to disrrupt the people who has been elected for the congress, but since everyone is watching, they are being caught up and pushed against.

 

Hopefully this will be a change for the better, because those last 12 years have been terrible for a lot of people.

haha, another factor could simply be that there's an increasing number of people that just don't like Seth Rogen and Sarah Silverman at this point (due to them being a certain Hollywood leftie stereotype that rarely or never has anything positive to say about the U.S. and the average American)....so they're already in that mindset to criticize once they see either of those 2 involved with something.

 

"Proof is Out There" is on at the moment--- this one is about Bigfoot sightings.  If such a thing is real, it doesn't make much sense that there hasn't been more footage or evidence captured....also, zoologists and archaeologists would have found remains by this point by searching areas where it's suspected they live.

 

On another note----so many "juicy" stories going on in the news lately; it's a shame when you realize that 1 or more of them will simply disappear from the mainstream media coverage....because at least in the U.S., our news cycle only focuses on a couple of things at a time.  So far we got this, in terms of what interest me the most:

1. Darrell Brooks' vehicular murder of 6 people in that parade.
2. The Jussie Smollett Fake Hate Crime saga; now at trial.
3. Clarence Avant's wife suspiciously murdered in his house.
4. The latest school shooting saga - with the interesting development of the parents now being on the run.

^One or two of these things is going to vanish from the news cycle very soon, unfortunately....especially if anything major happens in the next few weeks.  I'll take a wild guess and say... the Clarence Avant situation has the best chance of disappearing soon....they'll probably drop that asap.  After that, the next most likely one to fade away will be the Darrell Brooks case since it is older, and I'm not sure a lot of the media want to focus on a story where a career criminal black dude is indeed the main villain. (this could be due to certain biases in play [TYT for example did 1 or 2 vids on it, I think; it's doubtful they will mention it ever again; they were probably relieved when a new school shooting story popped up so they could run to that focus]*and* perhaps because it shines a light on just how weak our justice system is...when you realize this is a guy that should have been locked up permanently a LONG time ago already.)

It's not a political issue, it's a cultural one, and one that will take a generation or two to fix. I feel bad for the kid on some level because it's obvious he was crying out for help but no one was really listening; everyone who wear supposed to be a support system for kids like this failed.  His parents failed him by ignoring the signs he was putting out, the school failed him (and the entire student body) by letting him come back to class, and his classmates were probably assholes to him and.neither the school nor his parents were there to help. 

 

Edit: it's interesting that Aries posted that video of the Chicago schools trying to make things more "equitable and inclusive" by putting up different bathroom signs amongst the posts about this shooting. This is what schools are wasting time with and what people think "improves" things rather than trying to help kids like the Michigan shooter and this is why shootings like this will continue to happen.

IIRC, he continued playing and was even signed with one of the esports groups of the day.

 

Not to diminish what Noah did during the tournament, but he smoked a lot of fools because they kept trying to hit him during the armor and hyper armor of Hulk and Sentinel.

I used a similar team during that time, with both of the armor squad plus Zero, many people did the same mistakes that people did against Noah during that evo 🤣

When the coup d'etat happened on 2012, it was Chavez who gave political asylum to his husband, the President at the time and her.

 

That video is around that time, and in Venezuela, hence why you see people wearing clothes of the political party Chavez was part of.

 

What i love is the people in the replies of that thread posting dumb shit, because they only see shit in black and white, and know 0 about the current situation of our country.

We were already on a dictatorship in everything but name, and while the actual president is one more left leaning to say it in a way, the whole movement is compromised by people all over the political spectrum.

 

She can't do shit to move the needle to a socialist state since the congress is divided across the different movements, which the majority are more centrists, and all political figures are tied to the private sector, and they sure in hell wouldn't allow it.

 

To begin with, the coup d'etat was because the private sector assumed that her husband was trying to pull a move similar to Chavez.

He was going to take the opportunity of the internal elections of the 2 major political parties to do a poll to see if the constitution should be changed to allow a president to have more than one term, mind you, neither him or his wife (the current elected president) were part of the elections, it was just the poll to see what people thought, because of that, and his push towards improving certain areas for the people with less income, like increasing the minimum wage and other stuff, and that he was friends with Chavez, the private sector assumed he was trying to do the same shit Chavez did, which is why they forced him out of the country.

 

What they didn't count was that 1, he was a very popular president across the board and 2, that the way they did remove him was seen very negatively by the international community.

To the point that new chains like CNN misinformed the severity of what happened here, and many governments ended imposing sanctions to the country.

 

After that the Nacional party ended perpetuating themselves in power, with the current president doing what everyone assumed that Mel Zelaya (the husband of Xiomara, the current president) intended to do, but instead of doing a poll or anything, he put people in key positions to do the change of the constitution in an unilateral way, without  the consent of the congress or the people, which is why his next presidential period is illegal, and that is without taking into account that he won both elections due fraud.

 

The current movement is an union of not only her movement, but movements from the Liberal party the one i worked with (which despite the name is also quite a conservative party, just more centrist than the Nacional party), people from the Nacional party that want J. Orlando (the current president) out and be charged for all the illegal shit he has done, and other movements that started back on J. Orlando 1st period to try to remove him from power.

 

Then there is an historical factor that we need to take into account and is that during the 80's at the peak of the cold war, there were massacres here (patrocinated by the usa government  where thousands of people where killed by dead squads against anything that was deemed leftist/socialist.

Which has lead to lets say a stigma, not only for those who are considered conservative, but also those who deem themselves as more left leaning against pure socialist ideas, since  most families have at least one member that was killed, gone missing, or tortured from that time, and the scars are present even today.

 

BTW, that was also a factor of why the military helped with the coupe, since Mel Zelaya wanted to open the cases for the people killed during that period and try to bring people to justice.

 

So yeah, is not as simple as people on the internet without knowing the context think it is.

Was kinda hoping for MBTL but you're probably right, a bit of a time crunch to fit that in to official schedule with so many other games. I'm pretty sure I heard something about AC and UNI but didn't hear anything about Xrd.

i have a love/hate relationship with DBFZ

one side..its the most fun fighter since mvc2.

with most of the fun on finding discovering new team synergy and combos. plus a huge community. the game sold more than 6 million units.

other side..like all arcsys games. its badly balanced.

so all you see online is the same damn 6 characters over n over n over again by EVERYONE online since everyone is a tier whore thats terrified of losing.

after putting in 2k hours. i got soo bored with the game. bored with everyone using variations of just 6 or 7 characters. and NEVER touching the lower tier characters.  i uninstalled and dropped it recently.

i get arcsys is loved by alotta people. for making pretty fighters. which they do better than anyone else but who cares when they have shitty balance. if the balance was accidental i could understand but they intentionally release hella broken characters on purpose.

which they refuse to fix/nerf in later updates. they love broken tiers.

 

since dbfz is their flagship game now. cuz it is.

im sure dbfz2 is in the works. prob developing it right now. or soon. 

and im sure everyone will buy it but. sighhh. i dont wanna get mixed up again in anymore arcsys games tbh. if only thyed balance it right. where the disparity between tiers wasnt so bad. but they just hate balance over there. they refuse.

And for the record, while ASW did DBFZ, the direction of balance, systems and everything else is Bandai Namco.

They are the ones who own the rights for DBZ games, so no, is not the flagship game of ASW, since they were only contractors.

SD beats everything in the game EXCEPT 2H

2H beats everything except 6M overhead

6M beats 2H clean but loses to everything else.

dbfz is def not a classic traditional snk/capcom old school fighter.

Was kinda hoping for MBTL but you're probably right, a bit of a time crunch to fit that in to official schedule with so many other games.

 

I think is more in line with the game not having a release date for quite some time and then getting the release date  after they decided the main games, and so close to the event to give any accommodations to be able to add it.

i've always sorta wished snk had gone done further side games where they did assist/tag fighters.

kof 11's tags to continu combos was sorta lit.
