In a press release for the campaign, Silverstone said that she never gets naked for TV or film but made an exception for PETA to drive her vegan message home.

It’s just not sustainable. The Earth can’t handle it.”

“I have found really good materials that are natural. They are using mushroom leather, they’re using pineapple leather, cactus leather, which is why we did this in a cactus field,” she concluded. “I think that’s incredible. My dream is to get these earth-friendly vegan materials into the hands of the greatest designers.”

I never understood why they say "poses nude" and then the person is cover her tits with her hands. That isn't nude.

You're right I read "getting these earth friendly vegan materials into the hands of designers" and apparently immediately thought she was pushing the vegan eating agenda in with what she was doing.  In  any case, the way she's going about her message is still not going to work out the way she wants it to lol.  I don't know who she workshopped this idea with but it had to have been some dude who was like "...!!!!!  YEAH!!! DEFINITELY DO THAT".  I mean by all means, please further convince me to not wear furs by posing nude.  Oh no PETA!!!...I suddenly have the urge to buy a fur coat!  If only some organization could get someone like Lainey Wilson to pose nude to convince me otherwise!

On another note--Shout Factory TV is running an ALF cartoon marathon today.  I remember this but I never bothered to watch it before.  In the live-action show, I always thought it was hilarious how they ended the series on a downer... at the end, the CIA finally captured ALF and that was that.

5-6 years after ALF ended on NBC, there was a tv movie that concluded the series that aired on ABC in the mid '90s.

It was about him in an Area 51 secure facility and two military officers try to help him escape after a scientist wants to dissect him.

It didn't have the Tanner family though.

Alf hasn't aged all that well.  It was a product of the 80s and I remember re-watching it a few years ago and realizing it wasn't all that great.  The 90s sitcoms were way better than most of the 80s sitcoms in retrospect.

I do believe that language matters. The entire premise of the movie "Arrival" is that language can do more than describe reality, it can create it.

I'm not a PC nazi, but just try it with yourself. The way you talk to yourself, change the structure of the sentences and your choice of words, and everything in your life will follow.

Ancient Egyptians are the first human civilization to document the power of the word. "Incantations" for spells or the repeating/reciting of scripture in the religions that followed, all stem from this original idea that what we said changes our world. Even when you divorce the supernatural aspect of this idea from it, words still hold immense sway on the individual.

Having said this many of those updates to the Stanford Language are a little too "kid gloves" for me (Spirit animal? Transsexual? Seminal? really? fuck off!), but I understand why they are doing it. They are taking it a bit too far in the sterile direction.

I completely agree with what your saying. Some of the words listed here and some of their suggestions is absolutely ridiculous. They don't want people to say walk-in because it's ablest? Gendered words in general treated with scrutiny and hip hop hooray having ties with Nazi Germany? This feels like it came straight out of an episode of South Park

Pam was great, but the real star of Baywatch for me was Nicole Eggert as "Summer".  That was legendary PAWG action right there; that combo of her legs and ass was incredible.  I recorded many of the episodes that featured Nicole...she was one of my favorite blondes on tv for sure.  

 

The 90s is when Halle and Salma took over for me; Halle debuted in 1991 thanks to Spike Lee's Jungle Fever, and another film she was in that I think was after that called Strictly Business.  I was mesmerized from that point on, as Halle took over my #1 spot that Alyssa Milano held for so long.
