Sure they're just stories, but like I said before, society in some ways reinforces that women "deserve" that and some women expect it despite themselves not really being or doing anything that would make a man like that see them as wife material.

Entertainment is generally escapist, or it isn't entertaining.  Blaming entertainment for peoples' sense of entitlement just seems futile to me, because basically no one is going to consume entertainment showing people enthusiastically settling for ugly, stupid, broke, assholes.  Like, maybe any one of those things, but then that character is going to have unrealistic redeeming qualities in the other areas in spades.

 

Is it a real problem though?  If there's some bimbo type out there insisting on "top 5% income, 6'4"" dating material, eventually they're going to age out of the prime dating pool and just be choosing from the "I'll only date virgin pornstars who want to be my tradwife" leftovers anyway.

Maybe?  I was mostly thinking in terms of the Disney princess discussion.  In video games if a character is ugly, a lot of times it's just a game with ugly character graphics so I don't know how applicable it is.

April kinda sucks so far too but it’s cause I’m already broke. 😂 Gf and I bought a bunch of house stuff with my check. We got a deep freezer, new curtains and rods for the entire house, groceries, etc. We have a joint account though so we’re not broke. Just most of my check I get for disability is already spent. The stomach flu is what we all got. I absolutely hated it. I was miserable for like 4/5 days I was sick. And the one day I felt okay I went to visit some family and I ended up getting them all sick. 😣

It just reeks of not having an actual answer for the ills you have issue with and just blaming the pretty picture box because thats easy. It's why politicians do it. Real  "It's videogames fault!" Energy if you ask me.

It's not as complex as that really. You basically said "give the audience what they want".  Hollywood and Western Game development studios seem, especially the former, to like to antagonize their consumer base. Then when their product tanks, be completely bewildered as to why.

There a difference between "giving the audience what they want" and "giving the audience what they expect". The latter is pandering. That said either of those options are better than the current modus operandi of "giving the audience the finger" and then attacking them for not liking being flipped off.

I'm not blaming entertainment, but people take cues from entertainment and things are normalized through it.

 

Is it a problem? Maybe, especially in a time when women are making more money and 1 in 5 of them won't date a man who earns less than they do.

My honest opinion. To stop them from bringing aid in. They were the most successful at getting food aid into Gaza. Now they've suspended aid to the region and not only that, a similar organization has done the same. It's not the an accident. It's purposeful. They "accidentally" took out three vehicles, in an approved zone, with prior authorization of the route by the IDF?  Not buying it.

 

I've seen too many videos of them straight up mercing unarmed people to think this is an accident. People typically just don't care because it's "only Palestinians." Just like when they killed their own hostages that had escaped Hamas. The dudes were shirtless and waving a white flag asking for help. They shot them dead because they thought hey were Palestinians. They were only sorry because they were Israeli. Or when they riddled a families van with bullets, little girl surives calls for help, and those fuckers blew up the ambulance that came to help her. You can unfortunately see numerous videos of them taking unarmed people out. Often people waving white flags. Seeing this type of evil live and in living color is fucking disturbing.

 

TLDR: If any other country was doing this type of malicious and reprehensible shit, the entirety of NATO would be up in arms. Yet we, the US, just shipped them more weapons. That's like me selling brass knuckles to dude that's beating his wife and saying "There's nothing I can do. I'm talked him and said he shouldn't hit her. It's not my place to interfere in their marriage" 🤬

I generally look to who raised them instead. Generally their parents are entitled to.

I really hate that this conflict can't be talked about in any sort of nuance and if you put out that you'd want to seen both sides stop being shit to each other then you get called pro/anti palestinian or pro/anti Jewish regardless.  I'm not going to say I envy the Pres position in this either cause at the start of this you couldn't really fault Isreal for retaliating for what Hamas did but then its pretty clear that they've been going overboard and you try to point that out people start yelling without listening.  The right thing to do would be to stop giving them aide since they keep killing innocent people but the moment you do that its gonna piss off the other side right before an election.  Did I ever mention that I hate politics?

Hamas, rightfully so, got crushed for October 7th. Israel skates on everything though. This current situation in Gaza is the first time I've seen them sort of called out on their BS. Random strange dreams....forgot if I mentioned this one before...

 

Recently, I had a dream that this woman my dad dated way back in the day was now married to this new guy who happened to be a multi-billionaire, and for some reason they were interested in going through the legal process to formerly adopt me as their son....and for some reason he happened to own an old navy ship; an aircraft carrier.  I had no idea why they were trying to adopt me but this dream was set in present time so it's not like I was still a little kid.  I wasn't sure on a response because it was such an odd request in the first place; they gave me a 1 dollar bill and let me hang out for a while on the ship to think things over.  

 

...quite unfortunate I didn't realize this was a dream, since lucid dreaming is always a great thing.  She was smokin hot back then--- at least from what I remember she looked similar to that singer Sade.  heh, Dad definitely has good taste.

 

UPDATE---- I finally found the name/info on that horrid song I rambled about recently.  It played on the radio so I had my phone identify it (I've actually never used that function before)... It's "Free Mind"

 

It's mainly that short melody she keeps repeating that is trash to my ears....but that guy rapping/singing sounds terrible as well, imo

Oh I know about Netanyahu funneling money through Qatar to Hamas prior to the 2005 elections. He was worried that a moderate Palestinian group would come to power and it make it harder for them justify their actions in Gaza if the extremist weren't in charge. That's why it's so eye rolling to me when talks about having to destroy Hamas. They have the power they do because of HIM.

 

The bulk of the most recent conflicts have a lot to do with Western interference. I mean this situation in Israel is the most obvious one. I mean Israel's first prime minister moved to Palestine (now Israel) when it was a territory of the Ottoman Empire. But I don't want to get off on the tangent of one the reasons given for Israeli's having right to the land is well BS. The bulk of them are descended from European converts. A prime example of this is actually Benjamin Netanyahu himself. He's Polish. He changed his name. His birth name is Benzion Mileikowsky. Actually, the first Prime Minister I mentioned earlier, David Ben-Gurion, was also born in Poland as well. He's birth name was David Grün. He said some well honest things that people don't bring up because it wouldn't be good for the current narrative. He said, paraphrasing, that "The Palestians will fight us because they see us taking their land and If I were in their shoes I'd fight us as well" But I digress...really don't want go done this rabbit hole any longer. And I went down that rabbit hole....bah 😑

Sorry to quote this again but after details of what happened, those sick fucks most certainly did this on purpose. They hit the first vehicle. The survivors moved to the second vehicle radioed telling them to call it off. The they hit second vehicle the survivors went third vehicle and they hit that one. Accident my black ass. That was a methodical execution. Just like when they killed those unarmed men with the drone. They struck them. A couple survived, struck again, and then hit the last guy that crawling away. I'd argue it's worse. The first Matrix movie is the only one I'd consider classic. The second one was okay. The third and fourth were bad and worse. The first two Terminators were classics. T3 was okay and I'll die on the Terminator Salvation was good hill. After that.....total shit show.

Yeah the ads for Salvation made me so damn mad. That twist would have hit so well if the commercials didn't spoil it. I still think the general consensus of Salvation would be far different if they didn't spoil the major plot twist in the damn commercials.

^Imagine, living the cursed life of a modern-day teacher in a typical American public school.  I bet the majority of those people are miserable for 99% of the time they stick with that horrible choice of a career.  I don't see any positives to it at all....literally nothing other than it's better than being unemployed I suppose....but that "better than nothing" category is in the same league as a fast-food job or being a "greeter" at Walmart....1 step up from nothingness is sad.

 

It's surprising we don't see more videos of teachers reaching a breaking point and going off on some raggedy, amazingly disrespectful "thug-in-training" student.

 

...yeah this also reminds me at the moment of the intense hatred for my "peers" back when I was a kid in school.

For me the only cannon movies are T1, T2 and Salvation, the rest are not needed and only ruin the message of the 2nd movie.
