Remember how we were all making fun of Square Enix for only getting 300 million dollars for all of their western studios IP included? For point of reference Nintendo got 375 million dollar for Rare in 2002. It gets even better....

Embracer just doubled what they paid Square Enix to lease out the Tomb Raider IP. They didn't even sell the IP. It's still theirs.

Surprising they didn't go for some "stunt casting" there; I was ready to laugh... --- according to a few sources I just looked up it appears Shannon Berry will be playing Big Swole- I mean... "Abby"

On another note---I finally got the original Resident Evil 4 right on time before the sale ended; it was 10 bucks and I had some eShop points that made it even cheaper....so I can finally see what all the hype is about on that one, after all these years.  Previously, I had only played up to RE3, then played one that was on PS3 (Operation Raccoon City, I think it was called----it was forgettable) and then just recently, part 8.

I have been Replaying FC5 with some friends that got it on the PSN+E, The gameplay is still really fun, but man, I really hate the cult, none of them are interesting to me.

I think one of the worst sins of the game is not having certain degree of control at the times you met them.

 

Is annoying to just be there silently having to listen to their nonsense.

And not having ways in the fights to just execute them instead of allowing them to face dead on their terms spouting some last random bullshit before kicking the bucket.

 

Faith specially, she is annoying as fuck.

They will probably do like the MCU/DCEU, where they digitally touch the female characters to gave them muscles/ increase the definition

...a shame; I would've been interested in a single-player Titanfall thing.

 

I didn't watch that vid yet but I can already guess why--- the big suits in the industry would naturally see multiplayer (especially online-only, of course) games as the bigger money-making potential for obvious reasons... so these days, a single-player game is probably a hard sell in terms of the business side of things, I bet.  They want everything online-only, multiplayer/co-op focus with tons of microtransaction/DLC potential.

The villians are significantly worse in FC6. It doesn't force you into sections like 5 did, but overall it was less fun. Ubisoft also had the balls to make a faux Cuba where the ersatz Castro is an enemy of the communist revolution rather than its dear leader.

Leaving aside the execution, the Idea of Anton being the anti socialism checks with what happened around latin america during the cold war up to what happened with Venezuela and is actually one that I welcome.

Basically most of all of the dictatorships in latin america have always been puppet leaders put in charge and being backed by the usa so they can kill any revolution around here that had a faintest sniff of socialism/communism.

 

Hell, in many occasions the revolutions started because of this, since having extreme conditions only serve to create really drastic reaction on the other side of the political spectrum, which paired with the brutality of those regimes serves as a fertile ground to create sympathizers to any call for revolution

 

I know that for many gringos is hard to believe, but Cuba was not a hellhole during the Castro regime.

It was one of the reasons why it lasted for so long, a lot of shit I seen thrown by usa citizens about the conditions during the years is just propaganda, like the supposed videos of poverty ridden cubans living in extremely poor conditions, all of that shit was filmed on Puerto Rico 🤣

 

Meanwhile, the regime of Batista, the person who Anton is modeled after was a really piece of shit.

Anton not only takes from him, but also the likes of Carias Andino from my country from the 40's and the military regimes of the 80s (where hundreds of thousands of innocent people were killed because they were assumed socialists sympathizers or some shit like that ), Somoza from Nicaragua from the 60s and 70s, the military dictatorship of the 90s from el Salvador, Pinochet from Chile, etc, etc.

I have the first R-Type Final for PS2, its ok-ish at best, has a lot of issues but isnt terrible. R-Type Final 2 was so fucking random and weird, like Final is haredly a celebrated R-Type, was really random to make a sequel to Final (And ignores why it was called Final in the first place lol) but its reviewed well enough for the most part, Maybe Final 3 will be the sweet spot?

OH HOW SURPRISING.  How very, very shocking.  I'm just flabbergasted and bowled over by how unexpected this turn of events is!  Isn't this modern era where you own absolutely NOTHING just great?  Ohhhhhh it's fannnnfuckingtastic good times, I tell ya.  I can't wait until a few years from now when a new version of Ms. Goddamn Pacman requires the Namco Bandai servers to function....y'know so you can continue playing Ms. Pacman while hoping you don't suffer an outage by your ISP, because y'know how fun that is.

ah, so as I check the responses on the subreddit for Redfall, some faith is being restored...at least faith in my fellow gamers out there....it's looking like a LOT of people are disappointed in that (predictable) news of it requiring a connection.  

 

There's another odd choice that was already off-putting to some---- they decided to make it so co-op story progress only saves for the host.  So....if you go to your friend's game and complete several story missions in co-op with them... none of that actually counts for story progression for you.  

 

Anyway---on to a real game that's shaping up to be awesome though (and functional offline, btw)...

They're both mad scurry to me.  I also recently finished RE7.  I enjoy them but they're hard to play cause I get so scurry.  Only with horror games do I have this issue.  I fall asleep from boredom watching horror TV shows and movies.
