Hecatom
If you have not watched it yet, I recommend Major Groom:Plague Doctor. Really cool movie from Russia. It has the production values of a hollywood blockbuster but the slick cinematography of more arthouse movies. It manages to be very stylish. ssjgoku45, RSG3, Darc_Requiem and 2 others 5 Quote Link to comment

locoghoul
My girl said after the movie how hot the molotovgirl looked in the game as opposed to her real life self. I was like nah ah, the casual gamer look on her real self >>>>>> that fake ass look in the game. On a serious note I did appreciate that light, very light if even unintentional question of freedom. When Buddy chooses his routine and safety over the goggles, that was a very powerful moment. I dont think many understood that part. It was a really beautifully shot movie, I really enjoyed the cinematography and the various shots of the wilderness as the knight progresses through his quest. I think the movie would have been improved with just a tiny bit of exposition, as most of the film is fairly quiet. Lamb looks so bananas I'm probably going to go see it because it has that bizarre Scandinavian movie vibe that all of their films seem to have for some reason, their movies are strange, depressing, or strangely-depressing. J-ride
I just saw Dune Part 1 and I was honestly really impressed with the actors and how closely they interpreted the general feel of the book. Granted I read the book in HS so various details were a little hazy but the visuals were really striking and IMO it was worth watching it in IMAX. My ears were definitely ringing after the movie was over, that Hans Zimmer soundtrack was NOT playing. DangerousJ and RSG3 2 Quote Link to comment
Maxx
I'm impressed how well received this movie it. Dune always felt like a story that was just too scifi and weird for mainstream audiences to get to be such a big spectacle CDB2k20, RSG3, Darc_Requiem and 1 other 1 3 Quote Link to comment
RSG3
Also doesn't help the book can be a bit hard to penetrate. DangerousJ
I just saw No Time to Die. Pros: Action sequences Craig's acting - There are some heartfelt parts in this. The story is good and ties back to most of the other films in the Craig era There are 2 things I never thought would happen in a Bond film - and they happen here. Very risky for the usually safe franchise. Misc: Lashana Lynch's Nomi character is ok. For all the talk of her "replacing" Bond, its limited a few quick snipes/jabs, but ultimately she is an ally of Bond. Cons Safin is not in the movie much. maybe 15 min max. I would have liked more screentime. Some characters got unsatisfying exits due to this being the last Craig film. Overall: I think this is better than Spectre and Quantum of Solace, but worse than Casino Royale and Skyfall. 8/10 RSG3 1 Quote Link to comment

I felt it was weirdly cheesy in terms of acting in places... But from everyone not just one actor. The ending was a wtf in terms of getting no real conclusion on what the future of the franchise is. Are we getting a new bond? Does the timeline reboot? Did they fuck the internet for dollars over Naomi. I enjoyed it overall just made me go wtf in a bunch of places. Also it oddly made me feel like it was giving nods to Golden eye videogame. That whole third act was straight up a video game plot. DangerousJ 1 Quote Link to comment
DangerousJ
The Russian scientist was a bit too goofy imo. If I had to guess, they will just have a new Bond and go back to mostly stand alone adventures in a new continuity. The Q actor said he was contracted for only 3 films,so I'm guessing he's gone. In the past when the bond actor changed (Connery to Moore, Moore to Dalton) they usually kept the M and Moneypenny actors and didn't have any explanation for it. I have a feeling they will slowly bring back more gadgets and humor to contrast with the Craig era. RSG3 1 Quote Link to comment

I liked him as the main humor in the Craig era of super serious. I hope they stay super serious... Bond has done the comedic adventure camp thing for so long that everyone does it better. I think the serious take is something I've loved. I think their needs to be repercussions if this really is a continuation in the future. Because of how Ms role played out it feels like he got off Scott free when he basically caused this whole shit. Scientist turned the camp up to 1000%. Also hope Cuban spy chick comes back..
