a) bud light picked a actor, portraying a transgender, a trans portraying a 6 year old. thats also portraying someone goofy acting. to represent women, on exactly international womens day.

b) coupled with that trans that beat that female at that swim match, which i think also affected her athletic scholarship at her college happening at the same time.

c)coupled with all the other companies doing the same as budweiser all in the name of servicing esg scores. meh. yea, people are fed up already. and i think yu are underestimating this antiwoke movement. 

you keep assuming its just extremist right wing conservs that are boycotting. nope. its most people. 

you dont lose tens of billions of dollars in just a matter of a few weeks if it was just a few rednecks like you keep swearing to yourself.

AND THIS I THINK IS WHAT HAS FOLKS UP IN ARMS MORE THAN THE OTHER REASONS I LISTED A/B/C REASONS ABOVE. is that if you say "i dont like that." you get labeled as bigoted or prejudiced.

which is fuckin stupid and obnoxious because people are allowed to dislike things.

if no one wants, if the vast majority of folks on the planet just dont wanna see dudes with beards wearing dresses.

why should they be forced to by assholes in corporate industryand marketing  who are in actuality NOT SERVICING the lbgbt+ community but actually servicing the banking system to get better scores, and in actuality exploiting this minority group for financial gain?

All this diversity talk is just a marketing spill, the left need to see and hear their support so putting it out there as news is a sales strat it also gives a potential shield from any random college "non-binary" fat ass with blue hair and piercings on his/her eye lids who loves creatively making ways to find anything to make racial. "Oh, there is a fuckin black fry among regular colored fries and the color of my sprite is white that is so racist/misogynistic/homophobic, fuck you fuck fuck". 

If chick-fil-a was that serious they would have opened up branches in black neighborhoods but they don't.

@VirginDefilerLook if you want a real answer to that question it's because I don't accept "It was a shitpost, it was a joke, it was a prank bro, I was just trolling" as a shield against the responses people get for the things people say and do. We are talking about real people in real situations doing real things, so "I'm shit posting" isn't a good shield imo. It's an incredibly weak and flimsy shield in fact. Like it's one thing to make a joke and another to behaive the way these people do, over cans, or a statement, or a fucking rainbow. Grow up. They are just pissed off they're not being pandered to exclusively anymore. "They went woke and pander to the gays!" Yea because they already spent 100 years pandering to the fat lazy red neck football watching dick head who drinks Budlite. They captured the market already, time to expand and make more money else where.

Target is probably one of the few big box stores (if not the only) that actually does support it as more than a marketing ploy. All of their pride apparel was designed by LGBT artists or small LGBT businesses. 
 

they’ve been really good about inclusion over the last decade or so. Making special clothing for people with disabilities like cerebral palsy, downs, etc. They also donate to charities, organizations and programs that help those same people. so them reaching out to independent LGBT artists and small businesses definitely tracks with their philosophy on inclusion. 
 

Is it still capitalism? Sure. Of course it is. I’m not saying it isn’t. But as someone who knows, loves and supports so many lgbt people it sucks seeing how much people hate them for just trying to exist, be proud of who they are and companies just trying to help them with that.

I like those stories where humans are the aliens-- there was a great Twilight Zone (original era)  episode like that; actually there's a few...but the one that came to mind right away involved a couple of astronauts from Earth that arrive to another planet that is similar to ours... except the native people there were less advanced and very small; about the size of insects in comparison.  They seemed to be still in the early points of metalsmithing, like maybe bronze or iron age.  From their perspective, the human astronauts were viewed as giant mysterious visitors... perhaps some divine beings worthy of being worshipped as such.  They weren't stranded for long---one guy was able to get the ship tech working again so they could leave... but another guy preferred to stay, since he enjoyed being viewed as a "god" by these native people.  They had even built a statue in their likeness.  Eventually the 2 astronauts fought each other so you could imagine the interesting stories that would inspire for the tiny natives, about how the 2 mysterious "gods" eventually fought each other until one was killed.

 

I imagine that if we did find another world where the native dominant species wasn't quite as advanced yet... there would be interesting debates about whether or not we should intervene at all in their world... some would think we should let them advanced naturally and just observe from a distance whatever happens... vs. others who would say we should help them along and there should be an exchange of ideas/knowledge between their civilization and ours.  I'd probably be on the latter side there (pro-human/native planet species interaction); the interaction and new things learned about their world, and similarities/differences to ours would be fascinating to say the least.  It would be the most incredible scientific discovery in our history.

I love the firm speaking style of older movies.  I hate that action scenes in modern movies can have the hero practically whispering his lines to such a degree that I have to turn the volume up and down.  I watched Ben Hurr with Charleton Heston over the weekend and I was able to clearly hear every single line that was spoken.

I've started watching everything with the closed captioning on in part because my hearing isn't what it used to be, but also, there are a lot of little things you miss that are enumerated in the CC that you don't always catch the characters saying. Some shows are better than others but by and large, it's actually made my watching experience better.

Yeah but to me this just seems to be bad directorial choices to make the dialogue that quiet.  I'm not a hearing impaired person, I didn't spend a bunch of time at rock shows, I should be able to hear regular speaking dialogue in movies and can do so in older films.  I have a setting in my surround sound that amplifies low speaking voices which does help but it's still silly AF that has to be an option because of modern movies.
