I think the Poison player found a hole in Seth's blockstrings at certain point. I wouldn't be surprised if it was labbed before hand. At some point, there was a distinctive opening that the Seth player didn't not actually count on. Or, it was too hard to counteract the throw attempt from the Poison player. 

 

It kind of reminds of how some Tekken players look for specific Hwoarang strings to duck and punish (and/or interrupt).

The official site had this in Faust’s bio. So far it’s the only insight into his story.

 

“He once suffered a mental breakdown due to a traumatic experience. Even now, he becomes unstable when something reminds him of that time.”

 

In Xrd, he finally found out that Zato was sent to assassinate the girl he was operating which caused him to become a serial killer. I assume his state in Strive is the fallout of learning that information. But who say for sure?

that said, GG Rev 2’s delay based netcode is miles above SFV’s rollback, so i assume their rollback would be decent too (and honestly, maybe MikeZ consulted with them for strive, directly or indirectly, before they canned him, or they just study the AC+R code).

There was no mention of Mike Z but I did hear they have a guy that helped with the netcode on the new Killer Instinct. So here’s hoping. 
 

That being said, I had no problems with the beta  and it’s online. Whenever the game decided I could connect to someone at least.

Just to temper some expectations.

 

KI does in fact have the best netcode of any fighting game, however, the focus on online play was built in to the very design of the game engine and how KI utilizes it. I doubt that level of commitment will be present in strive.

 

it will doubtless still be a dramatic improvement over the usual Arksys solution though.

Yeah my thought is that just like anything else, rollback implementation can be a sliding scale. 

 

KI is on the upper end of that scale, but as Ve said it was designed totally with that in mind. And the way that game works, if it had any kind of consistent delay/hiccups it would completely fall the fuck apart. 

 

Strive was very clearly pivoted to rollback during development (based on that delicious delay netcode beta) but that doesn't mean that it won't be a solid implementation. Just may not be quite as remarkable as some of the "built into the bones" exemplars. But if we're talking the difference here between A+ and A, for example, that's still great for the player base overall.

Thats not difficult.

Indiegames made by one dude have better Netcode than SFV, you only need to read the manuel on how to make a Netcode.

 

Smashing with a club on the Keyboard and calling it a Netcode isn't going to work.

While i do agree that KI netcode is great, the fuck are you talking about, lol. 

 

The engine KI uses is the Slayer engine, ps2 era engine made for Buffy the Vampire Slayer game. 

 

Not only that, the online ficus aspect of the game was tacked on it mid developement, which in the long run helped the game tbh, but it wasnt something they designed neither the engine or the game in mind.

The netcode is made by the same person who did the KI netcode, Zinac. 

 

Take that as you may want.

If it were not for Nyotengu, I wouldn't have won two DOA tournaments back in Kaiserslautern, Germany 2014 before I moved back to the States.

That's mainly because about 60% of the people at these events didn't even know the match up and I didn't play previous DOA's before 5. 

 

They buffed Nyotengu by quite a bit since that point, now that she has at least a i10 frame move that stuns on regular hit and is a high. 

In DOA6, she can actually guarantee her ground through out of Hiten (her flying stance) and she was also give better follow ups from her 6P strings.

Then add that almost all the pornomancy does it as well, lol.

Frankly, that's part of what makes the characters "special." 

 

Then you also have to remember the fact that her design was inspired from a previous boss character, whom was somewhat infamous.

That Akuma read him like a children's book, I don't think that Urien was able to sleep that night.

Welcome to the forum, and don’t mind Cipher. He has a ridiculous amount of hatred for SFV, yet spends a portion of his day reading and posting on a SFV thread... You’ll get used to him over time (if you stick around), and learn to not take him so seriously, and sometimes find humour in his posts.

 

Hopefully you do stick around, we often play lounges with each other and just have fun posting things related to SF, fighting games, and just general things.
