I had a year where I stopped paying rent at this spot in Atlanta and the landlord/property management company didn't do anything about it except come by once and then leave after I said "oh yeah man, I'll definitely pay you next week." Was nice for my pocketbook, but having to live looking around for the landlord every time I was walking around wasn't fun.

That's one of the problems with building a mega mansion, you end up with MAYBE 50 people in the entire country who could buy it, and if they are that rich, they could easily build your own.  The whole house exists just to flex, but I really want to know what the utility costs on something that big run.  It's the size of an office building lol.

This brings to light another problem... giant houses like that would require you to hire a staff of people to regularly clean and maintain things...so the real cost of living there is that much more expensive then.  I'm certainly not cleaning 42 bathrooms, the theater, bowling alley, the art gallery, cigar lounge, etc. by myself, fuck that.

 

The only major extravagant thing that would be cool though---I've always envisioned my dream home having the "personal movie theater" like that...stadium style seating and all that jazz...even with an old-fashioned pop-corn machine (for others; I'm not even a fan of popcorn) and movie posters on the walls.....and that just reminded me how frustrating it is that you can't get movie posters easily in stores anymore.  It wasn't that long ago that there was a "poster section" in every walmart and Target, and probably Best Buy as well....now it's always some extra small section if there's anything at all...and filled with nothing but lame ass pop band and anime posters.

Honestly once you go over 4-5k square feet you start needing a full time butler/maid just to manage the property and it becomes a huge waste of capital when all you want to do is flex.  I only have 2 kids so anything over 4k seems obscene for my family size.

Shit, its just me and my lady.  We want to build us a tiny house and stick it on some property somewheres.  We don't need a lot of space.  Right now we're in a 3 bed 2 bath house and we don't use 2 of the rooms and barely use the second bathroom.  But we gotta clean them and keep them...put shit in them so they aren't just empty rooms.  All we use is our room/bathroom, kitchen and half of the living room.

My wife and I looked at this beautiful old house because she has a retirement dream of running and bed and breakfast. It looked great in the pics online, but not only was it a bit too big for the three of us, but when we got there, it looked to be in the same shape as every place some out of towner buys to fix up at the beginning of every horror movie that involves a haunted house.

Discovery First season starts okay, goes really stupid, has cool end of season.

Those people forget Trek always been very SJW, even in the 60s. 

Out of the new Trek Picard is good, if you ignore how they botch the end of season one, and it doesn't fit how any trek show went before.
Brave New Worlds is a return to form with The Original Enterprise under Pike, a better Spock than the JJ Abrams Spock, and the crew roster looks amazing plenty of old TOS and new characters.

I sort of disagree here. The issue is the caliber of the storytelling. Modern Trek seems to hit on themes that previous Trek has but has the subtlety of Klingon diplomacy. I probably wouldn't have made it through Season 1 of Discovery but for Jason Isaacs.
