Dragon Quest is in my too 3 JRPGs of all time.

 

If you cleared all of those races in anything even remotely resembling a mere 10 minutes, then you had RNGesus, that other "soft Z" Zeus, and a hack/editor on your side.

 

They are bullshit. They are un-fun, and they are antithetical to everything I have come to love the DQ series for.

 

They literally made the game not worth finishing, for me. Which is a shame. Because it is mechanically the most engaging entry in the series.


i was able to beat every race except maybe the last two cups in 2 tries or less. Mainly cause the first run was learning the course. I think the last two cups took me about 3-5 attempts due to memorizing where the boost pads were. I wasn’t there for maybe more than 20 minutes. Horse racing is 20 minutes out of a 100+ hour game. That’s not a deal breaker for me. 
 

So I just find you getting upset about it incredibly silly to me when there’s so many other examples of RPG’s doing the same shit or worse.

it's an odd thing with Dying Light... I enjoyed what I played of it...but I just gradually lost interest in finishing the game, as other games kept distracting me....but those videos for part 2 looked incredible; it's shaping up to be a possible day 1 buy for me.

 

In the first game, the asymmetrical multiplayer mode was really interesting to me... naturally I preferred playing the monster... I forgot what it was even called, but it was the special, more advanced zombie creature that only appears at night.  Unfortunately, the mode seemed imbalanced in the human characters' favor... I remember winning but it seemed to be mostly because the other people playing the humans may have been first-time players...or just generally didn't know how things work.  Against more competent players, at least on paper it looks like the monster should lose most of the time.....one major thing is that the UV lights temporarily disable your abilities, so you can't even get away from them if they just kept the pressure on you with UV lights.

@Hawkingbird Hey not sure if you ever decided to get into the Legend of Heroes games but for you and anyone else that is interested the fan translation patch for the second game in The Crossbell arc, Trails of Azure, dropped. Actually going to stop my Cold Steel 2 playthrough to playthrough it. Maybe by the end of this year I'll get to Cold Steel IV 😉

Spending this month in comparison to this month last year is down but it's only down by 2%.  Switch was the top console both in units sold and dollar amounts this go round.

 

Top 20 for the month:   MLB The Show 21, CoD Blops CW, New Pokemon Snap (Aight Stuart...let's see if it can stay top 10 next month), Outriders, NieR Replicat,  MK 11  (not sure what exactly spurned these sales...the movie?, MK11 is also the 13th best selling game of 2021 YTD), Monster Hunter Rise, Returnal (not bad), It Takes Two (this game jumped from 22 last month), MK8D, CoD:MW, Miles Morales, SM3DW+BF, Minecraft, AC:NH, SM3DAS, Smash Ult, Ass Creed Valhalla, Pokemon Sw/Sh, LoZ BotW.

I’m surprised that it made too sale but also not really. Nintendo has been in kind of a drought with releases. They’ve been releasing stuff, sure but not really flagship stuff or super worth peoples time outside of RISE.

 

I could see it staying in top 10 for switch until August or September.

And DQ11 is an 8.5 at best.

i luckily had corona time to play zero and azure last year but if your working full time and trying to get that full trails experience( all the sidequest and missable shit) have fun with that shit i think thats two 70 hour games or at least azure is.

 

zero might be like 40+

i remember spending a minute doing the horse racing in dragon quest xi  but it had to be cause i was trying to get some kind of equipment or item to make equipment. if you had to do it during the main quest i don't remember that bothering me that  much.

 

now that bullshit cardgame they make you do in trails of cold steel 3 tho now that pissed me off and i liked version in the two previous games.

ah yes stuff  like that reminds me of the shit im willing to do for the best equipment in games i really like.

 

except that thunder plains dodge the lightning a bunch of times in ffx i've never been able to do it. i always get up to pee or eat or some shit and the moment i unpause  i'm done.

welp...we're sitting at around 75%-80% likely now.

 

Edit:  Thinking about this...with the possibility of BotW 2 coming out this year it's very likely that if this is legit that they may use that game as a showpiece for the console.

It’s one of the very few sonic games I genuinely enjoyed. But it needed a lot of quality of life adjustments to be good game rather than just a playable one. Hopefully the remaster does that.

It's 100%, it's just a matter when they announce it before E3. Too many people with credibility are vouching for it a this point. Eurogamer is near 100% on stuff like this. Jeff Grubb is pretty dead on as well.

The big consensus is that it’ll be announced any day before E3 because Nintendo wants its development partners (3rd party) to show off what their titles will look like on the Pro.

 

And it benefits Nintendo as well for the same reason. People will be able to see first hand what the new model is capable of

It's not going to be called Switch Pro. That's a moniker the gaming community came up with. Unfortunately, your later guesses are probably more likely. It's probably going to be New Nintendo Switch or something dumb like that. I'll hold out for Switch Advance, Switch SP, or Super Nintendo Switch in futility though...

Nothing is 100% unless it comes directly from the company.  At this point its just highly likely to be true what with everyone coming out of the woodwork saying it is including all the reliable leakers and then Amazon Mexico with their goof of putting up a place holder with no picture of the item.  If there was any marketing materials floating around or an actual picture that'd put us in the 90% area with everything else we have.  Everything is still "rumor" until we get the 100% confirm from the company.
